Comments on what defiles a man. Its our hearts not our skin color,When Jesus was in Jerusalem on the feast days many believed on him when they saw the miracles he did but Jesus wd not commit himself to them simply b/c he knew what was in MAN and needed not that any should testify of MAN,There was none righteous no not one. Out of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of evil. It was soon after this that he tells Nic. a Jew, a teacher of the law he needed to be Bornagain of the Water N Spirit in order to be righteous AND ENTER HEAVEN.But John says when Jesus spoke of water it was Spirit the living WORD etc. This speak he of the Spirit that them that believed on him should receive for the H.G. was not yet given b/c that Christ was not yet glorified. You are made CLEAN by the word i have spoken unto you,the living word which is spirit and life.EVERY sinner will have their part in the lake of fire which is his baptism of fire n the H.G. as our God is a consuming fire. Who shall abide the day of his coming, who shall stand when he appears ( th 2 nd coming ) for he shall be as a refiners fire and fullers soap thus a cleansing fire thats what we all need. That lake of fire in the SPRITUAL REALM th H.G. FIRE JUDGEMENT whom the lord loveth he chaseneth. Its what we need . Thats y jesus said i come to bring fire on the earth ,Its what we need ty Jesus, its simply his baptism of fire with the H.G. the WORD IS THE FIRE . JEREMIAH SAID I WILL MAKE THE WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH AS FIRE AND THIS PPL THE WOOD,MEANING OUR OLD EVIL HEART IS GONA BE CONSUMED BY HIS WORDS.I will give them a new heart and a new spirit which is the new covenant the words of life. Christ in you. Remember the RED heifer she had to be burnt to ashes at the door of the tabernacle, THATS US our old adamic nature is gonna be consumed ,i will not leave them root nor branch. There will be nothin left of our ADAMIC NATURE.Every liar will have their part in the lake of fire, thats all of us.

In response: Alex on John 2:

"There is none righteous, no, not one."

Then how can "The effectual fervent prayer of a 'righteous' man availeth much?"

And why was Abraham considered a "righteous" man?

Abraham was counted righteous when he gave up counting the stars and just believed God. " It was counted to him for righteousness, just as our obedience to God is counted for righteousness when we give up our own works.

The "righteous man" in James 5:16 has to be Christ. You can look at it two ways: Because we are in Christ, if we pray fervently it will accomplish what we pray for because it will be God's will; or, Jesus, the only righteous man to live, prayed for us in John 17, therefore his prayer will accomplish much.
