Matthew 24:37 - But as the days of Noe (Noah) were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:38 - For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39 - And knew not until the flood came, and took (WHO?) them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:40 - Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:41 - Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:42 - Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

The WICKED were TAKEN and Noah was LEFT BEHIND at the end of the flood.

Luke 17:26 - And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

The WICKED were TAKEN and Noah was LEFT BEHIND

1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

The WICKED were TAKEN FIRST and Noah was LEFT BEHIND

Luke 17:27 - They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

    Luke 17:28 - Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Lot was left behind - the wicked were taken

Luke 17:29 - But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:30 - Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

    2 Peter 2:12 - But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

So do pre trib preachers lie and make the Bible say the opposite of the Bible teaches?

    1 Thessalonians 4:17

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (the dead in Christ) IN THE CLOUDS, to meet the Lord IN THE AIR: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

    Revelation 12:5

And she brought forth a man child (JESUS), who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child (The Son of Man) was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

(Sitting at the right hand of God; where he ever lives to make intercession for the saints) Our Advocate with the Father.

Awaiting the signal that the Church AGE is concluded.

    Comment:

Jesus is not going to set foot on the earth during the Caught Up. We meet Him in the clouds. In the blink of an eye: that's fast!

Only the Father knows how much longer we have to survive what's happening on earth.

Noah and his family entered into an ark of safety prepared for them before the flood, effectively removed from the then world's destruction. Later, they were restored to a new beginning. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for his people.

Lot and his daughters were removed to safety from Sodom before the LORD rained brimstone and fire on the cities. Sadly his wife looked back.

Our word "rapture" is derived from the Latin "rapiemur", used in the Vulgate translation of 1 Thessalonians 4:17 for "caught up" or "snatched away".

Enoch is our prototype for rapture in Genesis 5:24 and Hebrews 11:5 (translated that he should not see death...).

Another precedent: 2 Kings Chapter 2 tells us of Elijah being taken to heaven by a whirlwind in a chariot of fire.

Song of Solomon Chapter 2 relates a king calling his bride to come away with him from her hidden place, much as we can imagine Christ calling his Church out of this world.

!st Corinthians 15:51-52 declares the mystery that some will not sleep (bodily death), then promises all of us will be changed into the incorruptible and immortal.

Truly no man knows the day or hour, but the book of Revelation does not mention the Church on earth beyond the third chapter. In Revelation 7:9 an innumerable multitude of the saved out of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues stand before the throne praising God. After this the wrath of God falls upon the inhabitants of the earth, which wrath the Church is not appointed to (1-Thessalonians 5:9).

    Bendito Palavra, Amen!

There is no mention of the church during the tribulation time frame from Revelation Chapter 3 through Chapter 19. I see no mention of the church until I get to Chapter 19 of Revelation. The church will be in heaven while chaos is happening here on the earth. We are the ones in Chapter 19 who will be clothed in white garments at this wedding that is taking place prior to Christ's second coming. Chapter 19 also tells us that at Christ's second coming, we (the church) come with Him.

Jessie there is not mention of the church after revelation 3? Have you not heard of the bride of Christ?

There is no separate Jewish bride and a different Christian bride. There is only one bride and the Lord is not a polygamist with multiple brides. Believing Christians are called saints at times. If you do not see the church it is because you are not looking for her. The Church is going to be overcome in the flesh by the antichrist and be purified of her lukewarm faith.

Bob, I have one more question for you. Is your faith "lukewarm?"
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 14 - 3 years ago
    Bob,

Please do not twist my words to make it look like I believe the Lord is a polygamist. Have I ever heard of the bride of Christ? Of course I have. And I never said there is no mention of the church after Revelation Chapter 3. Please read my post carefully before twisting my words. The church is mentioned in Chapter 19. We are the ones who will be clothed in white garments, the garments of a bride. I find the 7 steps of a Jewish wedding quite fascinating with how it parallels Christ coming for His bride. You may not find it fascinating as you seem to be completely against all things Jewish. Can you show me where in Chapters 3 through 18 the church or the phrase "bride of Christ" is mentioned? If you can show me that, perhaps I might be persuaded to at least rethink my position. Also, since you believe the church has to go through the tribulation, what will the role of the church be during this time?

You say believing Christians are called saints at times? I'm not sure what you are getting at. I know every born again believer is a saint. I became a saint the moment I received Christ. I am a saint by calling. Christ called me and I responded to the call and I received Christ. So I am a saint. It has nothing to do with my human performance. I am a saint because God has set me apart for His purpose. That's what a saint is. The words holy, saint, set apart, sanctified, and sanctification all come from the same word, Hagios.

The church will not be overcome by the Antichrist because the church will not be here. There will be people getting saved during the tribulation and they will be put to death for it. I guess you can say they will be overcome because being beheaded sounds like being overcome to me. They were not part of the church at the start of the tribulation, and the church does not enter into the tribulation. They went into the tribulation as non-believers and refused the mark and received Christ after being warned by guess who? Jews, 144,000 of them!
