    These verses have nothing to do with the Church. Jesus was speaking to His disciples about what it would be like in the days after He leaves for Heaven until the last days during the pouring out of God's Anger. Its immediate reference is to the Jews, as can be seen in verses 6, 12, 20, 21, 24. The Church is not in this picture, as also in Mt 24 & Mk 13. However, in these chapters (discourses by Jesus), there is also reference to the coming Great Tribulation that will affect all the world, with the Anti-Christ impersonating Jesus & also the Wrath of God being poured upon all unbelievers. The apostle Paul in his letters then spoke about the Church's removal prior to the outpouring of God's Judgement, but this was not proclaimed in the Gospel, simply because the Christ's Church did not exist at that time.
