Re " thou and thy seed"

We are created in the image of God, and HIS WORD IS HIS SEED.....SO OUR WORD CAN BE OUR SEED as well as our

offspring....so to speak God's Word gives us power...." we haven't been given a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind".... 2Tim 1:7...and every seed reproduces after its own kind....and the Word speaks volumes about our lips, tongue, mouth ,...etc

What was Virgin Mary's seed....I think it was the words of her mouth

" Be it unto me according to thy word".....which is summarized when we agree with God's Word by saying..." AMEN"

Our seed can be interpreted 2ways....depending on context

Re " thou and thy seed"

    Hi Neil,

    Not so,

God is the only one that has the power to create, we are but dust, ( Psalms 103:14-15). It's true, in Genesis 1, God spoke, and divided the firmaments, then He created man in His own image, to have fellowship with him ( 1 Corinthians 1:9), not to be petty gods.

    According to Biblegateway

The two types of predominate seeds are for food/plants and natural/human/generational, though God still speak through His people today, it's Him who speaks through us, because we have no power or capability in ourselves.

Creation involves two types of seed....natural and spiritual...and each seed reproduces after its own kind...spiritual seeds reproduce in the spiritual realm, via faith....faith in what?

The word of God says, faith in the truth!

" confess" in Greek means to agree with another..

Check any concordance to verify this.

When Creation took place, God buried a lot of principles in what was created..ie laws like gravity, and others in physics, math, biology, etc, based on the principle " in the mouths of 2or3 witnesses every word is established

    2Cor13:1

So if we agree with Him,we establish truth!

Jesus calmed the storm, and said to them " how is it you have no faith", implying that the disciples had the power to calm the storm. I've read scripture every day for 44 years( a miracle not done by me)

We've been translated out of the kingdom of darkness, into the kingdom of His son...implying we are in Jesus kingdom now!...wow!Do Christians believe that? No darkness in His kingdom!Col1:13

Our confession-agreement gives us power....but we need to believe.

I saw my son split an oncoming storm by declaring agreement with the Word...and I did the same in another place, another time

"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit" Prov 15:4

Tree of life speaks of Jesus...what happens if we agree with Him? Do we establish "We haven't been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind" 2Tim 1:7

    I rest my case!............ Neil

Our faith in Christ and Christ alone, and it's by His grace we are saved, but we must also be careful we don't take Scriptures out of context.

2 Cor 13:1-6 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

13:2 I told you before, and foretell you as if I were present the second time, and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 13:3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

There is no doubt, words have power, but we're still finite beings, made in the image of the infinite Almighty God, that was my point.

    Neil,

Are you referring to James 1:8? If so, it says "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."

Double-minded can also be translated double-psyche. What this is telling me is that I can ask the Lord for wisdom ( James 1:5), but I have to understand that wisdom is gained through enduring trials by faith. And so when he says if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask from God, we have to be careful. If I say "I would really like to have God's wisdom," okay, but I'm going to have to go through a lot of trials.

My personal definition of wisdom, and it's the word Sophos by the way, but my personal definition that actually summarizes its application in the New Testament is that wisdom is seeing life as God sees life. It's like looking through His eyes!

1 Corinthians 2:16 plays a big role in this, that we have been given the mind of Christ. The word mind is the word Nous, which means perceptive. By His Spirit, we can perceive God and His working in our circumstances. That's wisdom, seeing life as God sees life. Now how am I going to do that? By experiencing Him, and by enduring and totally trusting the Lord Jesus Christ!

So I can ask the Lord for wisdom and then freak out as soon as He starts putting me in tough circumstances. My emotions would be flying all over the place. I'd be calling all my friends asking what I should do. It could lead to panic and anxiety.

We have to understand that we ask and we enter into trials in order to endure through them by trusting the Lord. But we have problems with that sometimes. It's like I know I should be trusting the Lord and I know what the bible says, but look what I'm going through, and it's a big mess. That is an unstable person, a double-minded man, that can't be ready to ask for wisdom. They've got to learn to endure their trials first.

If seeds have only natural power to reproduce, and not supernatural, how can all the singles out there produce anything if they have no children? Offspring is not the only way to interpret seed
  • Mishael - In Reply on Deuteronomy 30 - 3 years ago
If you read a little wider, people can produce spiritual children. Search 'spirit of adoption'.

Psalm 27:10, When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

Romans 8:15. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage, again, to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of Adoption, whereby we cry, ABBA FATHER. God becomes your Daddy, and your mother.

If you need a hug, lift your arms and receive it. He's not mean, too busy, Absent; He has his eye on you.

A lot of people don't preach this. America has often let the kids raise themselves. Facebook isn't going to nurture you with love and acceptance. Father God, brother Jesus, comforter Holy Spirit, WILL love you. Give your tragic life to them, and take into yourself, all the love you ever dreamed about.

If you're single; no prospects in view yet... consider "adopting" some real kids, in a friendly way (not literal). Give a ride to Church, a students study Bible. Organize a movie night at the youth hall at church.

Well we gotta keep them coronavirus safe. Little things mean a lot. It's called ministry.
