It seems to me that this statement, attributed to Jesus, is in conflict with his spiritual teachings. Behaving in a compassionate and loving way toward others, avoiding accumulation of wealth and respecting other living things should be the focus.

Jesus came to save us spirit, soul and body. When you read the four gospels Jesus met peoples needs in all areas of life. Jesus came to and did reverse the curse brought into this world through the fall of Adam and Eve. God loves His creation with an unconditional love. Some have never experienced that kind of love in their life. The word "salvation" in the Greek actually means-rescued, delivered, healing, prosperity, well being, completely made whole. He taught us about faith (simply believing His word) and through faith we can walk in an abundant life because of His finished work on the cross. God is our Heavenly Father and just as our earthly fathers, He desires to make life good for us. What parent doesn't want their children to do well in life. This life is possible if we lay down our desires and take His. He needs us to be witnesses to save the world. Don't take my word for it study for yourself. When we stand before Him one day, His word will be the standard that we will be judged by. Yes there has been abuses in the body of Christ but that doesn't change the gospel and it's power to change our lives, spirit, soul, and body. John 10:10. God bless!
