God created the world in just 6 days n on the 7th day he blessed it and said let all creatures on earth glorify me (God),he then created Adam in his image with eve along side .my question is God knew that the serpent was clever to deceive eve to have the fruit, then why did God himself punished Adam & eve after eating the fruit for the two were just innocent n blind of what was happening?why didn't he punish the serpent only?

God had made Adam and Eve with perfect consciousness and free will. God commanded them not to eat the fruit of the tree and when they eat, they shall surely die. But eating the fruit of the tree is purely Eve's and Adam's choice.

Even though Satan lied and deceived them, they have a choice to make and they knew the God how powerful and Holy he is. They didn't recall the commandment given by God but they went after their own will.

That's the reason God have punished Adam and Eve too.

The way you worded that is different than most people I know have but if you think about it the fruit was there, god had it dangling right before their eyes, he must have been testing them to see if they are trustworthy people, but you said that he told them they will die if they eat the fruit and they did? In that case, they must have wanted to die, if they had a perfect life why would they wan't to die, see a piece is missing I believe Adum and Eve were not happy at all.

Sheldon, you are partly correct. God did 'dangle' the fruit before them, and they were made in God's Image & so had the ability to choose. But they didn't want to die - it was just their own decision that the Serpent's advice & logic seemed better than God's warning; after all, it was only a piece of delicious looking fruit! I believe that perfect & sinless lives (e.g. Adam/Eve & Jesus Christ) can still have temptations come to them. Our first parents chose wrongly & sin entered into humanity, but the last Adam threw back at Satan, God's Word. Should not Adam/Eve have likewise done: "God has said that we WILL surely die, so depart from us you wicked one". Sadly, they gave into the lust of the flesh & eyes ( 1 Jn 2:16). And I believe that they were very happy people enjoying God's Presence & the beauty of creation. After their Fall, they became extremely sad, fearful & spiritually destitute. I hope this helps.

I don't know if He dangled the fruit or if the sin is Adam or Adam and eve; but God is the head of man and man the woman, and the man needs the woman as it is not right to live alone; she was made for him, and we must treat her right; which we have often failed to do; but i do know that God had a purpose; and He made man for that purpose, I would say; and it went, I say, as it should have to fulfill that purpose; and I would say, that maybe, it is being fulfilled today and every day as we make our decisions on scripture. It is your decision just as it is mine; and the other thing that i am sure of, is that I love the comments. Great stuff

Our God is an Omniscient God, i.e. He knows all things. He knew that Adam & Eve would sin & that this sin would be passed throughout all humanity. He knew that it wouldn't be by the giving of the Law through Moses, that the sin issue would be dealt with (the law was only a schoolmaster ( Gal 3:24,25)) to show Israel & us that we are not able to get right with God by obeying His Laws, simply because we just can't do it. God knew that one day, He would have to send of Himself (His Word, His Son: Jn 1:1-12) so that the full & only price could be paid for sin, so that man may only just believe in His Sacrifice to be saved & not anything else ( Eph 2:1-10). So, if God knew all this from the beginning till now, why were Adam & Eve punished, since it was already known by God? It then is a question of obedience. They were not created robotic. God did tell them to not eat of the fruit of that particular tree ( Gen 2:16,17). They had a choice to obey their Creator or not. They chose wrongly!

True they were not robotic. Some people believe God put the tree there so they would be free. Free to make a choice. Sadly they were deceived and did not believe that death would be the real end result of a bad decision.

Veronica. There was a rebellion in Heaven. You know the story I assume. Now there was disobedience on Earth caused by the spirit of Satan. God must destroy this Spirit , however if he had did this in the Garden of Eden , the other two thirds of loyal Angels would always have room to suspect that Satan the great accuser was right. Now this planet as become a Theator to the loyal Angels and other unfallen world's.. Sin must run it's course. God will bring a end to all of this. The war started only 6000 years ago. That is only like 6 days to our God. There is a Bible text that Is written in the New Testimont that supports our world being watched by Angels and other unfallen world's.
