When I was younger I was involved in street ministry. I too thought Catholics were derailed until I ran into 3 Catholic teens who had just had someone tell them they were going to hell for praying to Mary, mother of Jesus. I asked them WHAT they believed about Jesus. Do you believe Jesus is the son of God? Do you believe He lived a perfect sinless life? That he was crucified on the Cross for your sins? That He died and 3 days later was resurrected to life. They all said yes to each question. I hugged them and prayed for their pain of being accused. Luke ch. 1:48 prophesies: ALL GENERATIONS shall call Mary BLESSED. Catholics do this. Do not Judge them.

I did ask the 3 boys if they had received Jesus as Lord & Savior. The whole point of that testimony is people being judgements about the Catholic Church. God leaned in on me and said DONT judge! Then He set me down to see the prophesy spoken to Mary by the angel, which she repeated. In Matthew. ALL generations will call me blessed. I don't have to defend God. He will work out every detail. Fact is your garden variety Christian doesn't give Jesus's mother a 2nd thought. Admit it.

None of us have the right to tell someone they are going to hell because they are Catholic and they pray to Mary, even though we are to pray to God alone through Jesus Christ. A more proper approach would have been to show them what the Bible teaches about prayer, and who we are to pray to. You asked some great questions, but did you ask them if they ever received Christ and been born of His Spirit? Even though they answered yes to all your questions, belief in itself does not save them. A person must receive Jesus Christ in order to be saved.
Can we tell someone they will end up in hell? Yes! If someone flat out rejects Christ, we have the authority to tell them that will end up in hell.
