    When I was young, John 3:16 read: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him Shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
    Now it reads that whosoever believeth in Him Should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    The NIV version reads Shall not Perish. Should Not and Shall not have two different meanings. Has anyone else noticed this?

    Gods word must have free course in its entire meaning. Christ chose simple working righteous men, who new the prophecy of the coming savior. Jesus chose people with a pure heart.Like today,we Christians too,look for his returning.These apostles and disciples, were I witness to His majesty while He was here on the earth.These men,who were chosen of God, were moved by the Holy Spirit to write what you see in this KJV. When you read these words you are reading the words of men (moved) by Spirit of God. New interpretations create space we don't need! There is only ONE Holy Spirit! Remember, the Spirit must have free course with each believer. This is how we are set free from sin and hell.

    Thank you for your reply Fred. I appreciate your comment. I want truth and I seek truth with all of my heart. I have left the prosperity gospel message after 20 years and I am hungry for His living Word. I want out of my belly to flow rivers of living water.

    James Chapter 1

    1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

    2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

    3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

    4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

    5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

    6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

    1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself

    Dear Lisa,

    The KJV hasn't changed. The word 'should' has remained more than 400 years since it's first printing. Here's proof: Link It's possible you didn't have a real KJV back when you memorized this verse. Well-meaning people including pastors may easily misquote verses like this thinking they are quoting verbatim, then assuming it is KJV. NASB uses the word 'shall', for example.
