Explain the reference of sons of God and
    Sons of man
  • Jethro - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
I'm a son of man by my earthly father. I'm also a son of God by my heavenly Father. So are you, if you are saved. So, if Jesus is(and He is) the son of God and I and you are the Sons and daughters of God, Jesus is our brother. We have the same Father which is God. And we are all brothers and sisters of each other with Jesus.

If Jesus was the son of God, why did he refer to himself as the son of man?
  • CHRISTYloveYAH - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Because he is first fruits of new creation son of man(flesh) he came in the flesh.. son of god(spirit) after crucifying the flesh he was vindicated in the spirit. hence new creation.. behold i am making all things new. he is the first born of many brother and sisters. amen

Because He had a human body now. (He had Marys DNA) God is a spirit. He also had the spirit of God. So if He refered to himself as son of God or son of man, He would be correct.

No Jesus did not have Mary's DNA since all of mankind had sin nature. That is why the virgin birth was so important.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Hebrews 7: 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
Jesus had the same mother and Father as the first Adam
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

John 1:1, 14, 18. Jesus is the Word, became flesh, became a man. Jesus was both human and divine. He was the Son of God and the Son of man.

Jesus was called the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God John 3:16
Adam was a Son of God since God was his Father Luke 3:38
Angels are called Sons of God in Job 38 since God was their Father. Job 38
If you had a human mother and father you would be called a son of man.
Jesus had the characteristics of Both God and mankind. 1 Timothy 3:16
