Our hearts sometimes condemn us but let us have confidence, 3:19 and hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
3:20 for if our heart condemn us, god is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
3:21 beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward god.
be confident god has forgiven all...all your sins. if god didnt provide a way to remove your future sin he would'nt be able to assure your eternal life or everlasting confidence in him. although you may do sin he has removed you from the punishment required by that sin. you are no longer under the law of the flesh to be enslaved by it. praise god, you are free for life

Vs 9 now makes a lot of sense, whosoever is born of god doth not commit sin; for his seed (god's seed, christ) remaineth in him

9 you): and he (christ) cannot sin, because he (you)is born of god. praise god you cannot sin because christ remains in you by his promise of eternal life. i once declared to my bible study class that they could not sin even if they thought they could. that they were going to heaven like it or not. sound coo coo? once christ takes away your sin he also takes away your capability to sin, 1st by placing christs righteousness in you,2nd by removing you from the law of the flesh, 3rd by placing you under the law of grace. if you could sin it would be on christ

Faith in christ has removed you from punishment from the law, you are now under grace and under the law of grace where grace will always abound and cover your sin, vs 5 know that he was manifested to take away our sins. vs 6 whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: not because of what you've done , understand vs 7 let no man deceive you , now we can do righteous acts, he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. before this time romans says there is none righteous no not one .no one would ever say this includes christ. now christ, is in you and you in him.vs 8 for this purpose the son of god was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. sins gone in you

Have no fear of this scripture. believe it as you would any other scripture . believe christ has taken all your sin away. go back to verse one answer what your thinking about later verses. god has forgiven all your sins. the love of god is shed on us by forgiving all - all- your sins by placing christ in you and his righteousness , simply your record and refection before god the father looks perfect regardless of your actions. you now cannot stain christs righteousness. see vs 2 we shall be like him. vs 3 if your hope and faith is in christ your purity is like christs. vs 4 if you still think you transgress the law you break the law , therefore you should think christ has removed you from

Verse 18, chapter 5, We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. V.19, And we know that we ARE OF GOD, and the whole world lieth in wickedness! Finishes the whole sin thing!!!

If you read the Bible correctly there are to be no future sins. 1 John v.2. Those who profess Christ have to grow in the Lord and sin not. Christ came to cancel. Read Romans chapters 5&6. Very clear. If one does not come to grips with plain scripture they are enjoying not only their ignorance of scripture but their sinful lifestyle.

Actually, by the scripture that I have presented, it is clear that sin is to be irradicated from us. Whosoever abideth in him SINNETH NOT! That scripture is perfectly clear English. Whosoever sinneth, hath not seen him, neither known him. Again, perfectly clear English. Needs no explanation. We are to b complete in him. Whoever does not live in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and doesn't revel n his salvation, us list for eternity. There are no sinners in heaven. One prominent group says one can b a sinner and b saved at the time of death. Gal 1:6-9 States that's another gospel which is not a gospel of Jesus Christ. There are no sinners in Heaven!!!

This seems to be a common argument lately and I see no evidence it is from the Bible or God. Have you prayed to God for wisdom and clarification of this? Because to the vast majority of Christians the Bible in crystal clear English says Christians can and do sin. Even angels in heaven had the freewill to sin and that's what satan and his followers did. Isaiah 14:12, Ezekiel 28. If it was impossible for a Christian to sin today then why would Jesus spend so much time telling his followers specifically NOT to sin, but to obey? Are Christians robbed of freewill? No, they still can choose sin and often do. Some use grace as an excuse to enjoy sinning. John 14:15, John 3:36, 1 Cor 11:27-32.

Adam, Even in the old testament the message always was be ye holy as I Am holy. 1 Peter 1 States be ye holy for I AM holy. Can a person be saintly sinner or sinning saint? Is there scripture for that? If so, please state so. I would like to know. One must read scripture and be doers, not just readers only. We aren't called, as followers of Jesus Christ, to b translators but hearers and doers of the word. Read 1 John 2:1. He says he writes these things that we should SIN NOT.

Adam, 1John3:6, Whosever abideth in him SINNETH NOT, whosoever SINNETH hath not seen him neither known him. V.8, HE THAT COMMITTETH SIN IS OF THE DEVIL, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. So if a person is out committing sin, he is of the devil. For even that person has committed sins from his beginning. 1John 3:9, He that DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN is born of God. For His seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Very clear. Now a person should understand that Bible scripture does not fight itself, but is inline with every other scripture, tooting the same horn, as it were.

Do you believe a Christian doesn't have the freewill to sin? If so that contradicts scripture. Have you considered that the reason 1 John 3:6 says whoever abideth doesn't sin is because a Christian is abiding, being obedient and deliberately choosing to avoid sin rather than assuming that a Christian can't sin, or assuming it's ok to sin because it's 'not really sin'? The latter is a lie from satan of course and satan deceives some Christians into believing sinning is ok, which it clearly is not. Jesus clearly said to avoid sin and be obedient. If Christians had no freewill and were robots then why would Jesus say so many times to be obedient? John 14:15 Those who justify sin don't love Jesus, do you agree?

Adam, have you talked to a vast number of Christians? And what a vast number of Christians think about scripture has nothing to do about correctly understanding scripture. The angels in heaven have the freedom to to sin, as Lucifer, but it states the angels, in heaven, are not going around sinning. They are marching around the throne of God praising his glorious name. One has the option at all times to sin but Christ came to take away the penchant for sinning. Many scriptures. Read Romans chapters 5&6. The sin chapters. New person in Christ. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid! How are we that are dead to sin continue there in?
  • Gods Truth is Confirmed For Us - In Reply on 1 John 3 - 4 years ago
Very True Wayne but sadly many do not understand this Truth because it is not being Taught most Churches today and so Christians believe they will Sin until they die but it's OK because they are under Grace and as God tells us what we believe or think is True we will do and so they do. There are many Scriptures that Confirm we don't Continue to Sin when we are Born Again of Gods Seed including the ones you shared Wayne and it was Taught in the early Church as we see with Pauls own Testimony as he aimed to be Perfect as others in the Church were and he was before he died and so received the Crown of Righteousness and so can we. It would good Wayne to Pray with you for Gods Lost Sheep today.

If a "Christian" wants to or is out sinning then said Christian is not a Christian. The Bible calls said a child of Satan. Does that person have freedom to sin? Sure. But real Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, have had the need to sin removed from themselves and keep themselves from the wicked one. Satan, the father of all sinners, as the Bible clearly states.

Do do you yourself claim to be sinless? Do you not need grace anymore, because you're 100% sinless and perfect as a Christian?
