If an abortion performed under duress, drugged and performed, parents insist, if you change your mind and beg the dr not to and he has you drugged and strapped down are any of those God considers the intent of the heart. I had a miscarriage and it took so long to realize it was not something i could control. I still remember his name was going to be. I know God forgives if we ask with a true and contrite heart he will forgive you. Is this true and how do you forgive yourself because you never forget. But God tells us he forgives us yet we dont put it behind us. Are we showing a lack of Faith and belief???? Are there any verses that can bring peace to the above situations?

Betty: The more we learn of our God, the more our faith grows. God is the object of our faith not the other way around. Faith is not the object. Faith will come through his Word...not as some magic wand; but rather as a result of getting to know him and his character. As for an abortion under duress where one did not have control, well...that blood is on the hands of the ones who did have the power. Remembering, however, that God can and will forgive all who come to him with a repentant heart even for doing such travesties. Praying for those who hurt (you) will redirect any bitterness to a place of forgiveness. Not an easy task, but hurt and bitterness are not the best friends.

Betty repentance is the key to the heart of the Lord. King David had Uriah killed to take his wife. He repented and was forgiven, yet his life suffered from his family for it. we can be forgiven sin and yet suffer the consequences for sin and guilt. I believe in the 1,000 reign of Christ all children who died young and aborted shall be given a time to grow up and be tested. you may have an opportunity to raise the one who died. Lord is a God of justice and righteousness. Not that I deserve anything better, but I am pleased he is.

I know this from my own experience, when you give your heart and life totally to Jesus, he will make you feel like all that is behind you, is no longer you. The old person dies away and a new person becomes who you are in Christ. He is our peace that passes understanding and God forgives our sin, whether it was actually sin or not, it goes away as far as the east is to the west...yes that is scripture. We do not look back because the past no longer defines the person who we become. It doesn't happen overnight but with prayer, Bible study and a good solid church to attend, we begin to see that light that Jesus is living within us...that is our peace.

Well said Samantha. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
    Hebrews 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Thank you Chaplain...I know God would not have sacrificed his only begotten son to save us just to watch us die in our sin....Jesus died so we could live....and Jesus would say, go and sin no more...his stripes were our healing from sin...we are loved...not condemned through our precious savior Jesus.
