Is cremation a wise thing to do and what do the bible say about this.
  • Ruben Hartness - In Reply - 4 years ago
Yvonne-- Gen 3:19-from dust you came dust you go back to.-- Ecc 12:6,7-when the silver cords parts flesh returns to dust.-- 2 Cor 5:8-absent from body, present with Lord.-- Eze 28:18-God tells Satan he will turn him to ashes from within.-Flesh returns to dust no matter how--so cremation doesn't matter, the flesh will go back to dirt. God is the Consuming Fire.

Yvonne c Johnson, I had my son cremated, I am totally saddened, and hurt for having did this. Jesus Christ our Lord was not cremated. I was talked into this by someone. There are scriptures through out the KJV Bible that prove this is very wrong. I feel so bad for doing this, just because of stupid money. I asked the Lord to please forgive me, and I repented of this. I will send you scriptures.

Ann, there is NO place in the KJV that says cremation is wrong. Please tell me where you are confused. This is a man belief and it is NOT Biblical.

Ruben Hartness, please watch a message on cremation by pastor Jason Cooley either on Sermon Audio or on you tube. It should change your thinking about cremation.

Ann, I do not listen to false teaching. 1 Sam 31:4 Saul, one of God's anointed David's chosen leaders was wounded fighting the Phillistines fell on his own sword, v4 died. In v9 his body was ravished v12 the valiant men, by night, took his body to Jabesh burnt it then buried it. 2nd Sam 2:5,6, David blessed the men's kindness to Saul the LORD. cremation from God's word? KJV .

Ann, it states in several places in the Bible that when we die a physical death our soul and spirit go back to God and our flesh body goes back to dust from which it was created. Please rest assured it doesn't matter to our LORD how that happens. We have no more use for our flesh body because we in an instant step into our spiritual body and are then in Paradise to await the final judgement.

"we in an instant step into our spiritual body and are then in Paradise to await the final judgement" Thank you so much for this confirmation. I had someone to tell me that a person is in a "spiritual" sleep and not in heaven until the rapture. The person is in "Sheol" until judgment day.

Also ccarter, If you search the Bible you will not find any scripture about rapture, it is not biblical and if it is not found in Gods word it is false teaching by men's ideas. Many will fall short believing in the rapture. Don't be deceived by mans false teaching. God Bless you.

Hi, I found these scriptures. Are they referring to The Rapture? 1 Corinthians 15:52, Matthew 24:30, 2 Thessalonians 1:7, 1 Peter 1:13, Revelation 1:7. On a funny note: I remember singing the song "Ill see you in the rapture" as a kid and "Left Behind The rapture song - all which were very scary to me, I was afraid to go to sleep.

ccarter, All the scriptures you sent me deal with Christ COMMING DOWN HERE. Matt 24:30 is written in red Gods own words don't try to make rapture out of that. Don't change Gods word. Read them carefully see that all say God is coming. We don't go anywhere. He comes to us to establish His throne on the Mount of Olives. Hope this helps, God bless you.

Ruben Hartness, I feel much at ease now by reading your comment above. Thank you, and May God Bless you.

Thank you for clarification. I will read and study with more discernment. I also have been reading Mike Scotts, "What do the scriptures say?" webpage. It's been very informative. It's a shame that so much information that is taught that is incorrect. Also, how people can read the same scripture and come out with different interpretations.
