I learned that the Old Testament book Joshua bears the same pronunciation as Yaoshua Yeshua , the original Aramaic name for Jesus how is it that Jesus Yeshua is spelt differently iesus from Joshua ioshua in the old manuscript of the 1611 King James Version? It's confusing.

They are spelled different because Joshua and Jesus are both transliterations of the name in Hebrew and Greek, not translations. Transliterations convey the sounding of the name in the original tongue, rather than the meaning.

It is because they are transliterations, not translations. They are spelled out in the English language to simulate how they would sound in the original tongue.
