    does not The LORD hate putting away? is this not an increase of sin, seeing that God has not given a cause for divorce except fornication?

    reread verse 2-4. the people made this decision and foisted it on Ezra. This isn't a thus sayeth the Lord passage.... God told them not to take strange wives, but show me where God told them to put them away. This is a good picture of man trying to make things right and making them worse really. Some things when they are done it's too late to fix perfectly. At least they were trying though.
