    Travis; First of all, HOW WONDERFUL, I'm so glad for you! Mine is a similar story as yours! Get yourself a notebook and some pens; the Lord has much to show you! Jesus is the Anglicized rendering of the Greek Iesu for the Hebrew Yeshua. Just as Jude or Judas was the English for Yehudah, or John from Yochanan, or James from Jacob or Yaacov; these were popular names that parents gave their children.

    The name of the Savior was never mentioned in the Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek. His Name is Jesus nothing else. Jewish roots folks always trying to make a play on words to corrupt the Gospel into a works-based system that saves no one. The new testament was written in Greek because the Jewish nation rejected Jesus.
