"SINS" in Bible Discussions

  • Fred Scanlan - in Reply on Mark 3
It has been my experience that even though we think we cannot be forgiven. That our sins are more than he will bear, Our God will forgive ! He knows the heart , He knows you and me. He created us ,and loves us beyond our understanding. If you think you have sinned against the holy Ghost, that thought convinces me that you are not outside the grace of God. That your roots are still in place, and your future is still in Him.

It is beyond comprehension, to think that this spiritual war continues and will continue as long as our God allows it. It is His desire that all would be saved. I think back on the V.Nam war and the generation of men and woman who died for the love of a people suppressed by an evil govt. No matter what you hear. Even in this time we are being attacked, without the wisdom and love of our brothers who have already died, Satan, the enemy , can easily be overcome Only if man would confess sins , and rely on the captain of our salvation, our lord and savior ,Christ Jesus. At no other time, do we need some good leaders in the church! Unity under one gospel, letting the Holy Spirit do its work..

When I was younger I was involved in street ministry. I too thought Catholics were derailed until I ran into 3 Catholic teens who had just had someone tell them they were going to hell for praying to Mary, mother of Jesus. I asked them WHAT they believed about Jesus. Do you believe Jesus is the son of God? Do you believe He lived a perfect sinless life? That he was crucified on the Cross for your sins? That He died and 3 days later was resurrected to life. They all said yes to each question. I hugged them and prayed for their pain of being accused. Luke ch. 1:48 prophesies: ALL GENERATIONS shall call Mary BLESSED. Catholics do this. Do not Judge them.
  • Rui on 1 Peter 4:17
Judgement will start at God house. Will christians be judged based upon sins or labour? If upon sins our sins are forgiven and forgotten as the East is far from the West and I will remember them no more. So which judgement is that?

    Thanks

    Rui

Cont. God so loved the WORLD, Behold the LAMB of God that taketh away the sins of the WORLD.
  • Vanessa on Philippians 4
we cave into mortal ideas and then we open a door for the devil to come in, we are now seeing the evil at work but the good thing is we have a Father who loves us, and if we would humble ourselves with humility, and give thanks to Him for he works all things for the good, repent of our sins, He will hear us and answer our prayers, kneel down and pray, and if He is your Lord God Almighty, He will never leave you nor forsake you, trust in Him, He fights our battles, this is a wake up call. Our God is more powerful then he who is in the world, no evil can remove Him who dwells in us, He walks with us. Fear not for He overcame the world and so shall we. He gave us His peace, believe have faith

Pam, it's not too difficult. God presented several curses when Adam and Eve sinned. 1.The serpent, it will eat dust and move about on it's belly(prior to sin, it was able to fly) 2. To Satan - Jesus Christ will come as the redeemer of man and bear our sins and die for us(More on this below). 3. To Eve, child bearing will be painful. 4.Finally to Adam, he will have to toil and sweat and work hard to support his family.
To provide more details: As Christ lived and died for us Satan tried to kill/destroy his name(that is Satan bruising the heel). Christ will bruise Satan's head by dying on the cross for our sins and in the end place all sins on Satan in the lake of fire to be forever destroyed
  • Linda Garcia on Philippians 4
When Jesus died and rose again didn't he provide in the new covenant that we are no longer going to be punished for the sins of the father like in the old testament. Please explain
  • Kenny - in Reply on Philippians 4
Hi guys, David. The first thing we must ALL understand that WE(mortals) are not responsible for Sin. That is because of Lucifer(when in heaven became selfish with Pride), once he was cast out of heaven to this earth...now called Satan,Devil, Accuser of the brethren. God blames Satan for sin, he is the father of it John 8:44.Since sin is the transgression of God's Law(That existed in heaven before man was created. As a result God implemented his plan of salvation that Jesus Christ would come and die for our sins. That being said, we should not fear. If we confess our sins and repent(shy away from them)we are forgiven by the Grace of Jesus. God is a God of love and forgiveness. Trust/Obey.
  • Joe on Matthew 3
The power of baptism is that the baptisee repents of their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their savior - not who actually does the baptizing. In the case of Jesus, he had no sins to repent of, but rather to acknowledge his righteousness and dedication to doing the will of God which was signified by the Holy Spirit descending on him.
  • David - in Reply on 1 Thessalonians 1
Hi Benji. I am giving you this message not to cause contention but as a message of love because you have erred. Baptism in the name of Jesus is essential for salvation because it is for the remission of sins. Jesus said that unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God and he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. I pray that you receive this message of love. Amen.
  • David - in Reply on 1 Thessalonians 1
Sonti, you should abide in God's word on a daily basis not only in bad circumstances. Jesus said if you continue in his word then you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. Like Benji said you should ask God for understanding as you read and he will reveal to you answers in due time. However, contrary to what a few others have shared you need to be baptized to be saved. It is for the remission of your sins. Jesus said, "except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God," and he also said, "he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." One more thing, make sure you're baptized in Jesus' name and not the titles Father, Son, Holy Ghost.

Paul in 1 Thess 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: FOR THE WRATH IS COME UPON THEM TO THE UTTERMOST.
So is Paul cursed for speaking the truth about those who killed jesus?
  • Paul on Matthew 24
Who died on the cross for our sins,?
  • Stephanie - in Reply on Philippians 4
Repentance must be exercised toward God, because we have all sinned, broken his righteous law, violated the rule of his government, and brought discord into his harmony. We must exercise faith toward Jesus Christ because he has become our sacrifice and surety. He has died that we might have remission of sins that are past," and obtain grace and help so that we may keep the commandments of the Lord our God. 1 John 3:4; Matthew 5:19
  • Bob Hilt - in Reply on 1 Peter 3:19
in a word YES Jesus went to Abraham's bosom recorded in Luke 16. Before Jesus all the old testament saints went there. On the other side were the wicked who rejected the Lord.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. what was Jesus doing there? preaching the gospel
1 Peter Chapter 3: 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
    19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
fallen angels have no offer of salvation Hebrews 2:16
  • Adam - in Reply on Philippians 4
    >So why would you - or God - blame me for the sins that Adam committed?

Hi David, do you feel that someone is blaming you for Adam's sins? Who? I don't know of anyone being blamed for that. Did you read the previous verse shared? It explains what happened after Adam and Eve sinned- the world was cursed in a sense. This explains natural things people consider bad. Also keep in mind that satan is considered god of this world and allowed to roam, deceive, and possibly even afflict people physically: 2 Corinthians 4:4, 2 Corinthians 12:7. God allows things to happen and we sometimes sustain collateral damage from others or the natural environment. This world is very temporary for everyone.
  • David Orren - in Reply on Philippians 4
Christians say that God created all things. Christians celebrate that God created all the beautiful natural things. Then who created all the bad natural things?

And I am wondering what it is that I did in the first place? I cannot blame my children for the sins I may have committed. That would be unreasonable of me. I need to be accountable for what I do. . So why would you - or God - blame me for the sins that Adam committed?
  • Lisa M - in Reply on Genesis 4
Just know that you do not have to go to a church to be saved. What saves you is coming to a place of brokenness where you see your own sins and how you have to repent and turn from your sins and turn to Christ Jesus and make him Lord over everything in your life. He will then give you a new heart that has new desires and wants to please and serve Him only. That is why the pastor said that if you can't pin point a time when you were saved, then it wasn't a true conversion. God bless you.

we should not give praise to mary. only jesus died for our sins mary was just a vessel
  • Kathleen Gregory on Matthew 3
The Bible says there is only ONE BAPTISM - Is it John's with water, or the Lord Jesus' with the HOLY GHOST/SPIRIT. Of course, it is Jesus' - when we trust the Lord as our Savior we are immersed in HIS SPIRIT. John's water baptism - was basically for the Jews - BEFORE Jesus' Crucifixion - to show represent they were 'turning away from trusting THE LAW to save them and instead 'confessed' their sins - knowing it was God who saves - not the Law. Conclusion: Water Baptism is NOT the ONE BAPTISM - it is obsolete and just gets one wet. Some people waste so much time focusing on Water Baptism - time that could be used to win other to Christ.
  • Kenny F - in Reply on 1 Thessalonians 1
Baptism is a "Requirement" for salvation. If that were not true, why did Jesus get baptized? Luke 3:21-22. Several scriptures that mention baptism and the need for it. John 3:5; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 2:41; This is just a few, but the baptism is a representation of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, which were buried with him in the grave, but he rose again and left our sins in the grave. Thus when we are baptized we are to become new creatures in Christ and the sinful person is dead 2 Corinthians 5:17...You cannot enter into the Kingdom of heaven as you currently are. We are born of a sinful nature, and unless we bury that in the blood of Christ, we will not enter heaven.
  • Kenny F - in Reply on Luke 18
Let's not leave out the fact Jesus bore the sins of all humanity, so when he died and rose from the grave, our sins remained in the grave. In order for Jesus to intercede and redeem us, he had to live the life of man and overcome sin, that through his blood and sacrifice, he is the only one that is able to save us. "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the father but by me." John 14:6 - This is why we pray to God "In the name of Jesus". I pray you gain understanding, and BELIEVE on him.
  • JC Dean on Psalms 103
When seeking the Master ELOHIM while HE maybe found, it should be in total faith that passes all understanding. The people of this world have lost all hope and faith in the true ELOHIM that made heaven and earth. Psalms 103 speaks volume about our CREATOR desire to forgive us when judgement and doom is our reward. We should give HIM the highest praise and bless HIS holy name. Let us do HIS good pleasure, and show fourth HIS glory in love for one another. HE will save us, HE will heal us and forgive us of all our sins.
  • Dee - in Reply on Matthew 24
Amen. Hallelujah. Praise God and give thanks for and to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for he hung, bled and died on calvary for ALL of OUR sins. Not just for some. If we start picking and choosing what sins are to be forgiven by Jesus, are we not standing in judgement? Remember, judge ye not, lest ye be judged. May God bless and keep you is my prayer for all. Many dark days ahead for those who choose not to repent and turn away from sin; to those who do not or will not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Let us all pray for our lost brothers and sisters in Christ that they may come to Christ before end times. Amen.
  • Ivan Basil Thein Aung on Revelation 13
God when uncertain time of crisis, please keep everyone safe and everyone respect kind to one another, help the poorly who are suffering. God please protect blind who cannot see, save our disease from the sins, and save the humanity in the world, Amen.

Tona Mondesir..Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill..We all have made mistakes and done things in our life that we regret, the beautiful part of having a heart relationship with Jesus Christ is that we can ask for forgiveness for our sins and then like Jesus told the woman at the well in John 8:11 go and sin no more. Also in 1 John 2:1 And if anyone sin, we have an advocate of the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. We have help if we want it, Satan is the one, who after we confess our sins continues to make us feel guilty and ashamed of our sins..Jesus said I forgive you we must believe it..Faith
  • Mickey on Psalms 51
Genesis. God said his work was Good. People who get surgery to be another sex are out of order. It's unnatural. Even tho they are mangled they can repent of their sins, forever walk away from that lifestyle, and come to the Cross of Jesus for forgiveness and spiritual restoration. Tell them. Jesus is strong enough to forgive and love them into the Kingdom of God. Pray for them.
  • Obbie Beal on Mark 9
43-48 JESUS mind remains on SALVATION for them and us. Example, JESUS warns them and us of consequences from 3 pleasurable sins that gladly walk us into hell if we allow them to. But JESUS walks us into SALVATION, see John 3:16-21, thereby EMPOWER us as in verse 50 above, especially with PEACE from GOD.
