"MARK" in Bible Discussions

  • Peter - in Reply on Genesis 1:25
i do not want to add even one word to the Bible; or take one word that is in it away: but I do respond to things that i think I know about and I do make mistakes in typing; and when I said 3 on my last message; I meant 2 as most people would be aware of and so I usually may not repond to obvious errors; and of course, I did respond to an evolutionist remark as I did not agree with that particular remark and ideas as I know that the Bible tells it differently and that the Bible tells the truth. The Bible also says we are born with a mind and the brain does not create the mind as evolutiom believes. They like a lot of other people also don't realize that we only have a tiny mind when we are born and we must develop it and once we are stimulated with enough stimulations to be associated into one thought; you are ready for development and as long as the stimulations are right; you will have a right mind.

I believe there are two accounts of creation because of the information given to me by God in Genesis chapter 1 and Genesis chapter 2. In addition, I have provided Scripture to add weight to what is being proposed.

Are you sure you read the three pages of information sent to you concerning the various subjects conversed upon? You commented on only one portion. Any question or comment concerning the Scripture used to support my point of view?

I understand your general vs. specific remark concerning some hypothetical person being called a liar or hypocrite for not giving the complete story at the beginning. It is strange, as I would call someone neither a hypocrite nor a liar for generally informing me of a car accident.

If you do not agree with a statement concerning Scripture, show me my error through Scripture, rather than offer some random explanation of what I might be thinking, give no Scripture to back up your statement, and answer none of the questions presented to you.

    To answer your questions;

God only created one earth and one heaven; but three separate and distinct heaven and earth AGES (2 Peter 3:5, 6, 13).

God only created one light, the sun; the moon is only a reflection of that light.

Kathleen, you make some good points & they are almost a reflection of my grandfather's view on water baptism, where his opposition to it was so strong, that he forbad any of his children & wife to go through its waters.

And as much as I would agree with you on the 'greater' importance to be baptized with the Holy Spirit (& after all this is the hallmark of the believer, & that which seals & secures him/her eternally), what then do you make of the NT Scriptures that still demonstrate water baptism? Of course, we have Jesus' Own Command to His disciples in Matthew 28:19,20 (& I give a few Scriptures relating only to water baptism); Acts 2:38-41; 8:38; 16:33; 19:1-6; 1 Cor 13:13-16. And these were not just Jews only but Gentiles as well. And in any case, once a Jew turns to Christ, Christian baptism is still necessary to demonstrate the act of conversion.

How do you interpret these portions?

The only occasion that I could anticipate that a Christian would not need to be baptized in water would be where there was no one (e.g. an evangelist or personal witness) to share the Gospel with the unbeliever, & that enquiring soul, from the reading of the Word & moving of the Spirit, receives spiritual re-birth. A good example of this are the Apostles, (except Saul who was led to the Lord by Ananias (Acts 9:1-18)). We never see any testimony or reference by the apostles to their water baptism. Why not? Because they were baptized with the Spirit at Pentecost & were never led to salvation. So, it seems that the one that leads a soul to salvation should ensure (i.e. obeying the command) that water baptism takes place forthwith as a testimony of the great transaction. Sadly, our Churches pay little regard to this clearly defined order & folk are baptized according to their wishes & even decades down the road. There seems little sense to me in doing it this way & may just be a form of 'works' in case "I don't make it to Heaven".
  • Chris - in Reply on Philippians 4:17
D.J., so I understand that you see two distinct accounts of creation of mankind (one for the other races & the other Adam & Even from which comes the Divine line to Christ). Well, I have tried my best, but can only see one account of creation: the Genesis 1 account shows what God did during the 'Days of Creation' & the Genesis 2 account gives more detail of the creation of man, his placement, his meeting the other creation of animals & also his new companion in life. So I can't take this point further as our understanding is clearly divergent, though your explanation for the 'different instructions' given can now be seen. To restate, I see both creation accounts as pertaining to one creation of man & not multiple; the manner of writing & repetition in part, just doesn't convince me of anything but the one creation.

I can understand & agree with your remarks on the 'Ages' as referenced to 2 Pet 3:5-7. In reference to Satan & specifically to Genesis 1:2, I understand it is commonly assumed that the Earth became "confusion & emptiness" as a result of Satan's fall to Earth & that is acceptable. But since it's not specifically mentioned as such, & Satan being found at Eden doesn't necessarily give proof to support that belief, we should allow for some other force, whether from astral bodies or deterioration over the eons, that may have caused this deterioration to this once perfect World. Though, I can see that when evil is joined to something good & perfect, the result is evil (i.e. the absence of complete purity).

Otherwise, your remarks are appreciated & on the whole concurred with. Thank you for your time in these important subjects.

I'm not sure they were cavemen. There are scriptures that say the one third turned evil angels were hurled with Satan. Called inhabitants.

I gave a lot of scriptures that are in the history pages now. Have a look. I had seen them before cause they're all marked up in my Bible. I just didn't know how they fit in; but they do. It should be exciting study.

Best part is that science & archaeology prove the Bible is True.

D.J., thank you for your response. I will still go back to Genesis 1:28 for clarification, as this verse seems to be where my misunderstanding lies. Since you stated that, "The instructions given to Adam are completely different than the instructions given to the rest of mankind", I could only assume that there were some other instructions given to the rest of us. However, you say that the instructions in Genesis 1:28 also applies to us, hence I couldn't work out, & still can't, what these other 'completely different instructions' are, since Genesis 1:28 applies to both Adam & Even & us. So this still remains confusing. Hence, my mind got carried away, that if there were other instructions to other people, then who were they, if not the progeny of our first parents? Then the rest of your remarks on your Page 1 I would agree with, if both Adam & us received the same instructions & not different ones.

And I noted your comments in your Page 2. However, my comments to which you referenced, only applied to my wonder as to those 'different instructions given to us', then your further comments (page 2) had no direct bearing to them, & therefore I would agree with them. Your reference to the "three heaven & earth ages", I would say refer to the sky, universe & earth, rather than to the Heaven of God's Abode. Is that what you meant?

  • Mishael on Mark 8
I will tell a part of my full testimony. My salvation was akin to Pauls on the Damascus road. Later, after all the getting free from spiritual warfare; I would hear accusations against me in my mind, about sins, hating my ex, having hurtful thoughts; hating myself. People who told me to my face that anyone as bad as I had been could not possibly be saved. I didn't FEEL worthy. I thought I would let Jesus off the "hook". I saw a vision of Him on the cross but it was laying on the ground. I picked up a big rock and started hitting the nails in his hands. He was looking in my eyes ( that were streaming in tears.). Every time I hit him, He said, I Love You. I couldn't hurt Him anymore. I felt his arms around me. I woke.

I gave him all I had ever been or done; all the memories of sin that hurt like a crown of thorns. Maybe it was faith but I asked Him to erase all the memories of sin from me. He did it. Those memories are just gone. Who I had been, was buried.

I had to learn new things, like the joy of my Salvation.

In my experience, the Holy Spirit is not an authoritarian that frowns when we miss the mark, Don't learn faster, don't look like other Christians that seem to have it all figured out. That's not Him. If we give all our preconceived perceptions of Him, TO HIM; He gives us the new Life of a beloved child of God. You can have as much of heaven, NOW, as you give yourself freedom to take. "Taste and see the Goodness of the Lord." YOU are why He went to the Cross. He looked all the way forward 2000 years and saw your face.

Give Him your life (alpha, omega), and you take His Life .... as in cutting a covenant.

Then as His Bride, Song of Solomon 6:3, 7-10; Isaiah 49:14-18, 22:-26, I am the Lord: they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me!

There is no gender in this thought. He is YOUR beloved.

Draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you. You can have as much love as you are able to hold.

A time to mourn; a time to dance. Selah.

I stayed up most of last night, being led through BIBLE SCRIPTURES, that back up what the teacher is teaching. It is painstakingly slow, And biblically SOUND.

I would not have even listened to it if it didn't have scriptural foundation. The teacher uses the Hebrew to explain the events that happened. I do not know why I had NEVER heard this expanded teaching before, at church, but I have now. I still have 3 hours to listen to!

Here are some scripture passages you'll want to mark for that study. At one point I just began to write all over the page margins :/

This may interest you to listen to it on YouTube later.

Genesis 1, Job 1:8, restoration of earth in Genesis,

    Jeremiah 4;23-28

    Jeremiah 4:26 Gods anger

Isaiah 24:1 Is pre-Adam; God turned earth upside down,

Isaiah 14:17 20 spoken by demons to Lucifer

Why do we need to put this together so we can understand it?? Because people ask questions. And..,it's very important to Satan. We need to know HOW he came to be loose on the earth; after Adam and after Jesus'S death on the Cross.

For myself and you, we have a responsibility to piece this together as it really happened.

Mark 16:15 KJV says "... Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.". That is an order from God and even though it's hard to talk to people right now, we have electronics, we can still spread the gospel. We don't know what will happen or when so we need to tell people about God's word and what he did for all (John 3:16) it woul be our fault if we knew someone was not saved and we didn't do anything about it and they go to hell to spend eternity.

Regarding baptism. Matthews 28:19 & 20, Jesus said: ...teach ALL nations, baptizing them ...Also, Mark 16:15 & 16 say: preach the gospel...he that believe and is baptized shall be saved. Baptism come before you are saved. Baptism is essential to salvation. Acts 2:37 & 38. 1 Peter 3:21 ... Baptism saves us. 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17 tells us that "ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness ... Be blessed!

The Jews are gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Passover. Jesus was crucified on Friday.

There are 12 hours in a day.

John 11:9 "Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?"

    If there is midday

Acts 26:13 "At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me."

    and midnight,

Exodus 11:4 "And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt."

then we can say that the day starts at 6am, and the night - at 6pm. That shows that 3rd hour falls at 9am and 9th hour (when Jesus died on the cross) falls at 3pm. (New translation translate just like that).

Mark 15:25 "And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him."

Matthew 27:46 "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me?"

Bible mentions unusual darkness between 6th hour (12pm) until 9th hour (3pm). The darkness can't be seen if it's dark already...

Matthew 27:45 "Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour."

If there was Wednesday and Thursday, then I believe the Bible would have mentioned days instead of just hours.

    4. "The Fire of God". Once again, the Scriptures cited are relevant in every detail. Then I get to: "if Jesus meant to save all men, and fails to fulfil that promise, he missed the mark, and that would make God a sinner. The whole world is in His hands, not mens hands." I ask, what was that promise that God made & maybe could fail to keep? Was it, that ALL men would be saved? Even if look at John 3:16, we see that as a result of God's Love, He sent His Son to be the Saviour for all, but not all would be saved (whoever believes would not perish). We are never told that the Gospel would mean the salvation of all people, but the means by which all would be saved. I could never see Ephesians 1:10 & Revelation 5:13 as applicable to the eventual salvation of all people. As well, then why the need for the preaching of the Gospel, why teach about leading sanctified lives, why give the promise of His Coming, when eventually all (saved & sinner) will be preserved to eternal life?

    5. Romans 14:11. If the criminal had to stand before an earthly judge, they will do anything to justify their actions & hopefully find respite from the severity of their sentence. But to stand before our Great & Holy Judge? Their only response would be to fall before Him in full submission to His Glory & full admission to their filthiness before Him, regardless of their eternal destination. No more excuses & no more hypocrisy - "all will stand 'bare' and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do" Hebrews 4:13.

    4. The Fire of God

    Hebrews 12:28-29

Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire.

    1 Peter 1:7

So that the tested genuineness of your faith-more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire-may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

    Daniel 7:9-10

"As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened

This verse refers to a "stream of fire" that came from before God's fiery throne. Is it possible this stream comes from or leads to a..Lake of fire?

In the verses I've provided the scripture clearly teaches us that we are tested by fire, and saved through fire. Jesus' sacrafice on the cross purchased all men, paid for all their sin, and according to the scripture, missing the mark is to sin, and if Jesus meant to save all men, and fails to fufil that promise, he missed the mark, and that would make God a sinner. The whole world is in His hands, not mens hands.

    Ephesians 1:10

As a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

    Revelation 5:13

And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"

Every creature; that includes everyone on earth throughout all time, there are no exceptions.

I believe all this will all take place during this future 7-year period. Again, my belief is that the church will not be here during those 7 years. But, for those people who are here, this is what I understand from Revelation Chapter 13. During the first half of the Tribulation Period, the antichrist and his prophet will be unifying the economic, political, and religious systems of the world.

In fact, he will make a covenant with the nation Israel to rebuild their temple. And they will start sacrificing again in their temple. And then about the mid-point of this 7-year period, the antichrist comes in with the false prophet, and he puts his image in the Holy of holies and demands that everyone worship the image of the beast. I'm telling you this so you can see how all this fits together.

At that time, in order for anyone to participate in the economic, political, and religious system of the world, to buy food, and to participate, you have to worship the image. If you worship the image, then you will get the mark of the beast. And that mark gives you the authority to function in the economic and political system of the world. You cannot get that mark unless you join his religious system, and worship the image. There will be a one-world currency, political, and religious system. No one can participate without the mark. People can take the mark which will allow them to purchase the necessities for a short time. But, those who take the mark will no longer have an opportunity to be saved. If you're saved now, you have nothing to worry about.

It is best to commit your whole heart and soul to Jesus NOW. Accept him as Savior and Lord.

You will be with us when we are Caught Up. The line will be drawn in the sand so-to-speak. You don't want to stay behind at that time!

I know it's confusing with people preaching pre, mid, and post tribulation. Don't listen to it. Be ready before all that!!!!!!

Jesus is not going to suffer His Bride to be TEMPTED.

Don't make plans to go through the tribulation.

The Antichrist will have already have the edict in place to announce a one world money system. All currencies will be changed to one. Only accessible by getting the Mark of the Beast. If any nation is in possession of a nuke (?), those may be launched in retaliation. We don't know how it unfolds.

We only know a False Peace, initiated by Antichrist will be employed for a few years maybe and then He will reveal his true plans for humanity. He will wholesale slaughter anyone who doesn't have his mark. Marked people will be programmed to turn in anyone who doesn't have the mark.

You and anyone else reading this, get ready now. BE BORN AGAIN now! Receive the Holy Spirits baptism now.

You'll have to ask Chris that. He's had a lot of experience with translations.

I've marked up about 10 Bibles. I'm waiting on a new one to arrive :D

I like a King James Version with the center of the pages column (cross referencing, prophesies, meanings); with dictionary and large concordance.

There are Commentary reference books too. That's one you'll want to ask Chris which is best.
  • Mishael - in Reply on Matthew 24:38
Actually in Genesis 4 is the account of Cain killing Abel. Cain was cursed and marked for death.

When Seth was born, the genealogy restarted again. His was the seed that Jesus would be born through.

All genealogy follows the bloodline of Jesus.

Mary and Joseph were remote cousins from the bloodline of King David.

Daughters were only included in the genealogy of the bloodline of Jesus if they were in that line.

What does all this mean to us? God keeps record of all humans and children conceived to them. We're on His radar so-to-speak.
  • Chris - in Reply on James 4
Michael, my understanding of Js 4:4, is James' harsh word to predominantly Jewish Christians about their carnality. You can see some of their sins in other parts of his letter, particularly for their lack of works which should be a hallmark of their faith. So, in chapter 4, James addresses their lust for worldly goods: their behaviour resembles those who don't belong to God (like what we see today - a good message to add to your newsletter). To have 'stuff' is not bad, but to lust after it to the point where they behave like God isn't the reason for their existence, is what is concerning James which forces him to call them "adulterers & adulteresses": for their spiritual fornication in this regard.

Your Newsletter is there to inform & warn people & so this verse that you question does not apply to you as you are not engaging in or encouraging people to acquire the offerings of this world at all cost. The fact that you want to alert folk to this fact is admirable as very few do it, or even dare to do it. Press on brother.

The inclusion in the reading of the Psalms of the word "Selah" is not necessary as the term is a musical pause, not a word. (used in ancient chants as a break) ... Its rather like one reading this aloud and saying a moment ago "open quotation marks close quotation marks" it spoils the flow and is totally unnecessary and you should edit your audio wave files accordingly. Mark: it means return to your first love when you First met Jesus. The scripture is in Revelation.

Just compare your life today to those first days when you asked Jesus to come in your heart. You read your Bible. You asked the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you have read. He's your Teacher, and the Spirit of Jesus; your Comforter; your Convictor when you make mistakes, your Helper. He's here for you.

Just pray this prayer to return to your first Love:

Lord, after what I've read today, I don't want to allow any spirit of compromise in my life! I now understand that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is compromise with the world. Lord, I don't want to live with one foot in the church and another foot in the world. I want to break free completely from the world and its influence so I can give myself completely to Your cause! I want to be holy, to live in a way that pleases You, and to experience Your power in my life. Today I am renewing my commitment to You all over again! I turn from the world, and I am running to You!

I pray this in Jesus' name!

Vernon, from Revelation 13, we can at best only speculate what the Anti-Christ & his Mark will actually turn out to be. We have the Scriptures & we also have knowledge of today's world political/economic situation & technology. How all this will change in ten, twenty, fifty years down the road, can only be a guess by anyone.

From Scripture, it appears that both the Anti-Christ is a person (as also the False Prophet) & his Mark, a tattoo or chip inserted into the body. The Mark seems to be required only for trading, rather than identification, as if a person without it cannot buy or sell, which will certainly result in his death if he can't eat, drink or live in a dwelling. Whether this Mark is or includes an insertion of a chip in the hand/forehead is also possible with current technology thereby maintaining uniformity of all people in this regard. And of course, for those who are limbless for some reason, then the option of the mark in the forehead seems proper.

So, I don't think that I have adequately answered your question, as we really don't have enough information to go by except what we are observing now & how we interpret those signs. The signs however, are there for the world stage being prepared for the Anti-Christ, a longed for 'saviour' for not only negotiating 'lasting peace' (false, temporal peace, of course), but also to set himself as the supreme world leader & indeed, the 'christ' who receives the praise & worship because of his great acts of wonder & service to all peoples (i.e. to peoples who obey & bow down to him). And why shouldn't they do his bidding, if it means that their lives will be spared. We can think of the 'mini-anti-christs' of the past: Hitler, Qaddafi, Kim Jong Il, Mugabe, Idi Amin, Castro to name some. And all these appear insignificant to the might & wickedness of coming The Anti-Christ.
  • Mishael TO SC on Heresy - in Reply on Psalms 23:1
    SC, you are a HERECTIC.

From a Greek word signifying (1) a choice, (2) the opinion" "chosen, and (3) the sect holding the opinion. In the Acts of the" "Apostles (5:17; 15:5; 24:5, 14; 26:5) it denotes a sect, without" "reference to its character. Elsewhere, however, in the New" Testament it has a different meaning attached to it. Paul ranks heresies with crimes and seditions (Galatians 5:20). This word also denotes divisions or schisms in the church (1 Corinthians 11:19). In "Titus 3:10 a "heretical person" is one who follows his own" "self-willed "questions," and who is to be avoided. Heresies thus" came to signify self-chosen doctrines not emanating from God (2 Peter 2:1).

Improper understanding of heresy will condemn you to hell.

Heresy is not the same as Error. It is a Choice to abandon widely accepted teaching on an essential doctrine (such as the Trinity of God) and embrace one's view (yours being that the Holy Spirit is FEMALE / the Mother of the Godhead.

Heresy is to preach ANOTHER gospel, as Paul stated in Galatians 1:9.

You are deceived most likely by some militant female teaching or cult of them.

If you google CULTS, even google knows it probably involves religion. I speak for myself: you don't need to come here seeking converts. Twitter is available for heretics. I'm sure there are Facebook groups that are heretic.

I hope you rethink what's best for you? The Antichrist will make you offer up your hand or your forehead for the MARK of the BEAST. Then you will be forced to bow your knee to WORSHIP him as GOD. You won't have choices anymore! If you take that Mark, you will still go to hell. If you kill yourself, you'll go to hell.

The only option that offers Life Eternally, is renouncing heretical beliefs and receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

For informative: APOSTASY is leaving and renouncing religion; renouncing Jesus as Savior.

Albert, I will assume that you are a Christian who is still caught up in this habit. Any habit that controls us means that Christ is not the One to completely indwell us, fill us & control us by His Spirit. Romans 6:16 speaks about being slaves in other ways, but this Truth can be applied to anything that we are servants (subject) to in our bodies: "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" & 1 Corinthians 6:12: "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."; & this tells us that there are many things we can do (i.e. that the Bible doesn't clearly forbid us to do), but those things (e.g. smoking, etc.) are not the proper thing to do (e.g. becoming captive to it, for health reasons, etc.).

Yet, even though the Scriptures are clear as to what we should do, we know that only God, by His Spirit, can give us the strength to gain victory. The apostle Paul said that he could do all things through Christ, Who gave Him the strength (Philippians 4:13); i.e. he looked to Him & called upon Him whenever he couldn't do something in his own strength. It is that continual reliance upon the Lord & particularly being on guard when that urge comes to have a smoke. In the '70s, I was gripped by cigarettes as well. But after I was saved, my friend (a non-Christian) & I decided to give up. God had led me (or, us) to a 'herbal cigarette' that gave us the sense of smoking but without the nicotine/tar: in other words, it wasn't habit forming & in fact, helped me to eventually drop the habit in short while. My friend went back to smoking, but God gave me the strength to press on & I've never looked back.

So Albert, don't lose heart; God can help you as you look to Him each day for this habit & also check out the market for something to assist you to get release from this.

You'll probably get different suggestions to your question, as each of us will look at the chronology & content of the Bible differently. Not sure that you want to start reading the Bible for interest's sake or as a Christian who never really got into it properly. So if I would assume you are not a Christian but wanted to read the Bible in a systematic was yet avoiding (for now) the Bible books that will less bearing on you now, then I would suggest the following:

    a. Start with Genesis (to learn about God, creation, how mankind sinned, & the lives of the early descendants from Adam & Noah). Exodus & Leviticus are useful to learn about the laws given to the children of Israel, but may be heavy going at this point - so I'm not suggesting them.

    b. Then to 2 Gospels: John & Mark.

    c. 1 John; Romans; Hebrews; Ephesians; Galatians (on Love, warnings & supremacy of Christ over the Law).

    d. Gospels of Luke & Matthew.

    e. 1 & 2 Corinthians; Philippians; Colossians (letters to the Churches).

    f. Psalms & Proverbs (for words of Encouragement & Wisdom).

That would be my thoughts. However, if you wanted to read the Bible chronologically, then the order of books to be read would be quite different (i.e. after Genesis, would be Job, etc.). As well, you may some suggestions off a Christian website.

He needs an X-ray to look for structural damage. He may need a new mattress? Or walk a little every evening. If he doesn't drink milk, he may need citracal with D3.

If he's a Christian he may need to do some spiritual warfare. A spirit of infirmity can drag in others to chip away at his joy. To rev up his faith he needs to read the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John (red letter edition). It helps to study how Jesus healed people. If you don't feed your faith; it stays little.

SC - You claim Jesus was a female? what?

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the SON son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a SON son, and thou shalt call HIS his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

    Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the SON Son of God;

Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, HE he marvelled at him,

John 6:42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the SON son of Joseph

1 Thessalonians 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at HIS his coming?

Victor, to answer your question, it means that the people wanted Jesus to go away. He had just cast out the devils that were in the devil possessed man and he sent the devils into the pigs. The pigs drowned themselves and the men who had the devils was now healed. But those who owned the pigs, they now had no animals. Therefore they wanted this Man Who did these remarkable things to leave them.

Carlos, I agree with you on the Self-sufficiency of God: that He needs nothing else to add to His Person or Character, that He is fully content within Himself & His Wisdom requires nothing from an outside source to enlighten Him or to reassess His Purposes for Heaven & the Universe. But He is a God of Love, nay, God is Love (1 John 4:8). In His Self-sufficiency, His very Being is essentially both Spirit & Love: without one or both, He is not God & thus non-existent.

If then His Essence is Love, His Actions stem out of that Love, to extend that Love to all, to require that Love in His Creation, & to receive that Love in return; & these are all hallmarks of love (1 John 4:16). I see that if one of these requirements of Love is missing, then the "God is Love" Truth equates to 'God has Love within Him but requires no reciprocal response', however weak our love may be. But if a response from us is required, then it must prove that this God, Whose very Essence is Love, also sees our returned love as something He needs to receive & respond to. Is then His Response simply from a judicial position of checking off that a person has done his bit with love, or does God have a 'delight & sense of inward satisfaction & joy' when love is reciprocated?

In a sense, God doesn't need Pleasure from expressed love or even a sense of euphoria in an outstanding act of love or devotion (& some even dare to suggest that He rests back on His Throne & exudes uncontrollable laughter & frivolity over some human act), but His very Nature demonstrates His Great & Perfect Love (in Holiness), & that in seriousness & satisfaction, He receives our Love in return. I believe that our Father delights immensely in the love given to Him, especially when deeply rooted in the reason for that 'agape' love: His Son's Love at the Cross.

"God doesn't need to be glorified". What do we make of John 12:28; 13:31,32; 17:1? Do we sense that the Father receives our worship & His need to be glorified in us is paramount?
