    Could someone tell me what is going on when the Pope himself has condone same sex marriage and God himself said no to it and there are several books that state this fact. 1) Leviticus 18:22, 2) Leviticus 20:13 and 3) Deuteronomy 22:5. I feel that since the Pope has done this the religion he represents doesn't represent Jehovah God and he has brought inequity into the fold and those that wish to follow him will condemn there selves.

    If we go back to Eve. she gave birth ( Genesis 1:27,28;4:1,2;5:25). some of these offspring's died by means of old age,

    Genesis 3:19; Genesis 6:3, violance or destroyed by the flood ( Genesis 6:5-7,11-13;17). Only Noah his wife, Shem, Ham, and Japheth their 3 wives survived. that means only eight people survived out of Adams and eve's children and grand children.

    The point! not all of Noah's children listened to God. They followed Satan the devil and his lies Genesis 3. when you read about the Canaanites ( Genesis 13:7; Leviticus 18:1-5) this bad nation came through Ham descendance ( Genesis 10:6). or Ammorites, some Noah's descendance created a nation by their family name Genesis 11. When Jehovah ( psalm 83:18) confused their language they all spread out and became nations of people like you see today.

    to the point: Abraham was a righteous man who lived in Canaan. but one of God's angels told him to leave Canaan then became a father to a nation of Israel ( Genesis 17:1-8). God name Jacob Israel ( Genesis 32:28). this is how a Nation of Isreal came about. Canaan land later became Jerusalem belonging to Israel the Jews.

    However, Israel repeatedly sinned by worshiping other gods. even Solomon the last king worshiped false Gods ( Nehemiah 13:23-27) Jesus turned to the Gentiles which means nation who will believe ( John 3:16,17).

    However, their are some Israelites who did believe, but most rejected Jesus.- Acts 1:6-8; Matthew 24:14; 2 Timothy 3:13-17

    We're treading on dangerous ground when you see how God dealt with this in the past and the warning he gave Israel not to become as they.

    Leviticus 18:27-30 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)

    That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.

    For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

    Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.

    I believe this moral decline is evidence of a prideful people cup of iniquity is about full.

    Notice the indictment against Sodom here in Ezekiel 16:49-50 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

    And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

    Leviticus 18:6-29 continued.

    The 1950's brought us easy divorce and many divorced people began to remarry. The culture glamorized promiscuity and in the 1960's fornication became acceptable followed by legalization of abortion. From this the step to approval of homosexuality came rapidly, soon to be followed by transgenderism and other gender perversions. Now in our present time, poligamy is featured on reality T.V., there is a push for the acceptance of pedophilia. Soon, sexual experimentation among young children will be touted and then bestiality will the next perversion to break forth seeking acceptance. Such a slippery slope we embarked on in the last century to totally undermine God's authority for this basic fundamental foundation for society that God put in place to protect families, women, and children from sexual exploitation. Men are being destroyed inwardly from pornography having their sexuality warped at the very core.

    I think this is the very reason God put sexual purity at the topo of the list in of statutes in this chapter. We are to be slaves to righteousness, not to sin, submitted to the Holy Spirit in all of our ways, doing everything to the glory of God, honoring God with our bodies.

    Our call to a godly life is truly for us receive the blessing of God upon us in this life as we submit ourselves in obedience to Him and the ways He has set forth for us to live by.

    Leviticus 18:6-29

    This chapter lays out the parameters for lawful sexual relations. It addresses child sacrifice.

    In ancient Israel marriage was initiated by sexual relation (being seen as the two becoming one flesh). Though multiple wives were allowed in this culture, there were boundaries that the people were to keep. The surrounding nations were very sexually lax. But God, who has all the authority to make all the laws, begins with behavior that is at the very core of society. The marriage bed and the one flesh relationship that bonds male and female together and produces children (who are physically the union of two people in one flesh).

    With YHWH being the Master of the Israelites (they belonged to YHWH) they were being called from being slaves to sin and Satan to become slaves to YHWH and righteousness (as defined by Him).

    These statutes concerning sexual relations keep the marriage bond pure and protect children born of this union. It protects women from being dishonored by men who do not control their appetites or have respect for their father, brother, uncle, or son's wives and daughters. The prohibitions begin with matters of incest (relations with close kin). Then it extends to adultery with one's neighbor's wife. It then prohibits homosexual relations and then to bestiality. Included in the prohibitions is the command to not sacrifice one's children to Molech.

    This is the progression that happens in a society when they separate sex from marriage and procreation as God intended. One by one the pillars of righteous practices concerning sexual relations begin to fall to the pressure of the culture and what God has prohibited becomes normalized with the expectation of society accepting it's expression without question. Aren't we there now?

    First, the availability of contraception in the 1930's allowed people to pursue sexual relations simply for the pleasure without the responsibility of child-bearing.

    Leviticus 18:5

    This verse instructs the Israelites that they are to live by the statutes and commands He spells out for them. This is the blessing for obedience, life. Not eternal life, as eternal life is always attained by faith, but that they will live in the land promised them and prosper there. Obedience will cause them to live in the covenantal blessing of God upon them as a people. These laws were temporary provisions given to a sinful people in order for God to dwell in their midst and bless them.

    These statutes are not a way of salvation by works of the law. These laws delineate the lifestyle the Israelites are to embrace while living in a land filled with paganism. God is commanding the Israelites to take Him seriously, that He is not a God they can manipulate and define by their own imaginations. The Israelites are to understand that the LORD their God is supreme over all and worthy of obedience, worship, upright living. He is all powerful, therefore is to be feared reverently with the understanding that He will follow through with both the blessings and the curses He pronounces with giving His laws and commandments.

    I think it is easy for Christians to become lax in their view of the majesty and supremacy of God which usually leads one to pursue preferred sins, thinking that surely these are just "little sins" and not very serious to God. It is very easy to get into this mindset and soon one finds themselves enslaved to a sinful way of living that they could have rejected if they took God more seriously and believed in His absolute holiness and purity. We should ask ourselves regularly. Does this honor God? Does pursuing these sins bring us closer to Him? Am I failing to view God in His perfection and reality? Am I being presumptuous in my thinking about towards God when I pursue a sinful path?

    I think it is wise to examine ourselves when we find ourselves indulging in sin with abandon. Usually we will find that we do not take God or sin seriousy.

    MaxM, a problem guys like you and I face is that we often reach out to Christians, hoping to find someone who will affirm our sinful inclinations or lifestyle. We're not to do that. Psalm 1:1 says, "Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly..." He is cursed if he does.

    Too often, people who call themselves "Christians" are NOT Christ-followers. Many have never studied the Word of God from cover to cover, getting to know Gods heart. I have. Sadly, with love and concern, they wrongly counsel others, based upon their feelings and opinions. We must abide by God's laws, which are clearly against such practices: Leviticus 18: 20, 29; 20: 13; I Cor. 6: 9-11; Rev. 21: 27.

    I've been struggling with same sex attraction for well over 50 years. I was molested from the age of 4-16; homosexuality was my mindset. I married (a smokescreen); before divorce ensued, I brought two daughters into the world. I've been a born again Christian for almost 57 years, but my struggle with this issue has been that long. Many times, I BEGGED God to take the desire from me. He hasn't; He says, "My grace is sufficient for you, just as it was with Paul."

    Grace is not a license to commit sin; it is the bridge that keeps us connected to Him via obedience to Him.

    So, what are we to do? Celibacy or marriage to a woman my friend. We cannot serve the flesh and Christ also; it doesn't work. See John 14: 15, 21-23. Paul said, "...It is good for them if they abide even as I" (celibate). But if they cannot control themselves, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." I Cor. 7: 8, 9

    Marriage is not for everybody; sex is, but we must control our passions ( Gal. 5: 22, 23). Is A FEW MINUTES of pleasure worth eternity in Hell? God sees our sacrifice; if we obey Him, He will reward us accordingly. Born again Christians are to "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Ja. 4: 7;1:12. We can't love Christ and sin too. Not much time left; choose wisely!

    I'm taking the word "cursed" directly from the Bible not other witchcraft things of this world because GOD said no undue curse shall stand. Proverbs 26:2, That stuff has no power over Believers that stay in GOD's ways.

    Malachi 2:2, Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 18:8, Leviticus 20:11, the laws GOD had given Moses included the things forbidden that he was actually asking for Solomon to give permission. Being the king, guilt would have cursed as Deuteronomy 28:15-68, promises. Israel agreed to that, in Deuteronomy 27,

    Why did Solomon have Adonijah put death?

    1st because Adonijah asked Solomon's mother to conspire to do an unlawful act, trying to get Solomon also to be part of breaking GOD's law. 1Kings 2:13-21, The law: Leviticus 18:8, Leviticus 20:11,

    2nd Treason, I believe Solomon saw this as an act of Treason, also punishable by death even by law today. Please see 2Kings 2:22, Adonijah had already tried to take the kingdom from Solomon: 1Kings 1,

    David was promised that his son Solomon was to reign as king after him & that Solomon was going to build the temple for GOD.     b. Colossians 2:16

    Your reference to including the 7th day weekly Sabbath in with the Mosaic sabbaths (plural) included in ordinances of the Law of Moses does not stand up to close scrutiny.

    The italic of the 'days' in verse 16 emphasizes the plurality of the multiple sabbaths in the law of Moses which is distinct to the Moral 10 commandment law of God.

    Most respectfully your reference to Colossians 2:14-17 is a mish mash including an implied reference to Hebrews chapters 10:1 and a misrepresentation of Colossians chapter 2's application only to the law of Moses..

    The entire paragraph starting at Colossian 2:14 and ending in verse 17 clearly shows that the reference Paul is making is limited to the 'Handwriting of ordinances' which was contrary to us, nailing it to His cross'. The reference confirmed in verse 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days" is a clear reference to the law of Moses and limits this reference only to the Law of Moses and NOT the Moral 10 Commandment Law of God.

    How do we know this for sure? Because the Law of Moses was:

    Written by Moses using a scribe who wrote on paper using handwriting of The book - Deuteronomy 31:24

    Contains the codes for ordinances & ceremonies (including feast & Holy days etc), sacrificial ceremony, health, civil laws, treatment of animals, treatment of slaves etc - Leviticus 18: 3 & 4, 1 Corinthians 9:9

    Whereas the 10 commandment Moral of God makes no reference to Drinks, meat offerings, ordinances, new moons or an holy day and does not contain multiple sabbaths - but the Law of Moses contains ALL of these.

    The reference you make to Colossians 2 verse 17 again confirms that this cannot refer to the Moral law of God and therefore cannot include the weekly sabbath as being nailed to the cross.

    How so? Because as you say it was 'a shadow' - this shadow of a law concept links this scripture verse 17 with Hebrews 10:1

    Jesus said to them that represents that He is male except She is female because that is exactly what Jesus pointed to any man with quotes as "He"except any woman with quotes "She" that "He" that loveth his life shall lose it; and "he" that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

    The Biblical word "He" means male or man that is called MANKIND

    THE BIBLICAL WORD "SHE" IS FEMALE OR WOMAN THAT MEANS WOMANKIND

    [22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

    When God created Man on all he created he said it was Good!

    So one would ask "how and why did Homosexuality come into the world?

    Here's how and why.

    Romans 1:21-27. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

    And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

    It came into the world as an form of curse for lack of better terms. Sin entered the world by one man "Adam" Romans 5:12.

    All sin leads to Hell if a sinner is not turned from it by regeneration by the Spirit and caused to repented.

    This behavior "Homosexuality" was initiated by worshipping and serving the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for!! We still do that today!!

    Genesis 4:17 left without name

    Here is scripture & thought on the matter for deeper questions that are taught on this issue.

    Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 2:7,8,15,16,18,21,22,23,24, notice in Genesis 1:27-28, says male & female & have dominion over & subdue over the sea, air, and living thing that moveth on the earth. Then HE put 'the man" in garden. Was this a certain man & his wife seperated in a special garden? Notice in Genesis 1:29 all fruit from every tree was good for meat. However in the Garden that HE planted Genesis Genesis 2:8-9, he put the man he had formed & breathed life into him & he became a living soul. Genesis 2:7,

    Genesis 4:15 presence of other people,

    Hebrews 13:8, John 1:1-5, Leviticus 18, establishes GOD's law, James 1:13-16,

    Luke 1:69, Psalms 89:24-27, Titus 2:11-12, Hebrews 5,

    Genesis 4:25,26, 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, one lineage from Adam to Seth to Jesus recorded lineage of redemption Matthew, we are adopted heirs through Christ, Ephesians 1:5

    Many agree this lineage was significant to show fall of mankind & redemption

    Adam & Eve lived to a ripe old age. It's not illegal for first cousins to wed 3rd cousins. It's just an observation, but the gene pool back in those times was much stronger.

    You can see that by the Book of Leviticus 18 or in Deuteronomy; God set limitations on what others consider to be incest; intermarrying.

    These laws were introduced not until Leviticus.

    I think the books of the Laws are really interesting. Many food laws were for protection against death from pathogens from unrefrigerated foods, like pork. Eggs should be cooked and stored without refrig. because of salmonella, etc.

    In Leviticus 18

    I believe that the 1611 King James Bible is inspired by GOD.

    I am 64 years old. I have several family members that are LGBT persons.

    Thus, I have always been interested in the Science of LGBT persons.

    I have learned that GOD not only created the heavens and the earth, the animals and humans, GOD also creates Lesbians and Gays.

    GOD creates blacks, Hispanics, etc, by choosing the parents, grandparents, etc of each person on Earth.

    GOD gave us FREE WIIL and GOD holds FREE WILL very sacred.

    Science believes that 2% of the babies born are Homosexual.

    Science believes that an embryo goes through a series of steps to become a new born baby. Sometimes, due to stress or anxiety or fear, those steps can get messed up in several different ways, thus creating a Homosexual Child.

    Science has discovered a whole family that produce a Huge number "considering the norm" of babies that are both male and female.

    Once these "special" children reach puberty, they are given a free will choice to become either male or female, then Science helps them to be more normal by surgically removing those sexual organs that the teen no longer wants.

    If GOD thru his choice of parents, creates a Homosexual baby, and Jesus has died for the sins of all of us.

    Does not GOD and Jesus live those homosexual babies that they have created!!

    Once the homosexual "Marries" then how can that relationship be a sin or sinful. Married people are not sinfu

    In Leviticus. This is before Jesus died on the cross. I would like to point out also the reason for Jesus 's sacrifice to allow us to repent our sins. That is why nobody burns offerings and that is why you can be forgiven of your sins by allowing Jesus into your heart and accepting him as your savior. On top of that, many people act with surprising hatred towards gay people this is not His word. His teachings are of respect and love towards all fellow people, regardless of gender, skin, sexuality, or even the religion they practice. Jesus love.

    Hello John. I don't believe that Leviticus 18:12 can be applied to the Noah/Ham matter as that verse is specifically referring to unnatural familial relationships whereas Ham showed disrespect & disregard to his Father by what he did, in spite of Noah's pitiful condition.

    English Sacha's graphical retelling of this portion may be closer to the truth than we know, which I had not earlier considered.
