Discuss Galatians 4 Page 3

    Dear Robert

    I don't think I agree with you.

Let's see the verse you quoted.

    Collosians 2:16

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

What does this really mean? We'll see.

Next verse, no. 17 states "Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ"

Shadows of what things? My opinion is that implies the NT, that is why he is referring to the body of Christ, which is the church.

Please read what is written next, ie verses 20-22 "Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,(Touch not; taste not; handle not;Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?"

So I think it's obvious that it is written that we are not to be judged for NOT keeping all those things, including Sabbath, and not the other way around.

Please also see Galatians 4:9-10, it is relevant. It actually talks about the same thing "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years."

Those days, months, years, meat, drink, holydays, new moon, Sabbath, all these things from the OT are shadow for the things that would come, and came as the New Testament.

As a final point lets read Acts 15 when Paul and Barnabas met with the rest of the apostles in Jerusalem to talk about whether christians are to obey anything from the Law of Moses eg circumcision. The conclusion was to keep away only from "v29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication29

That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and well. Fare ye well." They decided the only things according to the OT that we should keep as christians are for idolatry, for blood and for fornication.

    With respect.

Hi everyone with Godly thoughts :) i love u all in Christ. It was nice to think of "person". A living individual with lots around. Then it also means that men are both man and woman. For since the person does not mean much, then man must mean everything else. And it's big, we are all equal before God. With schemes of course.

Words that come to mind during the day, especially since i have read all the answers you have received here. I guess everyone now understands that we are in the last days. :) OH Jesus Christ is coming soon, let us all have assurance of salvation.

You write Michael: The Earth changed the moment of Jesus's first breath as a human child. He would take all of mankind's sins on himself and pay the penalty for our freedom, from sin.

Quote end. That is exactly what i noted today. Galatians 4:4 Here it is now important to notice the confusion God's people have. Since we are trained in many areas, we go the way we want. In a way. What seems easy to understand. So that we do not have to think so much about where we are on the map, in a way. Although we all strive to come forward. Have my thoughts turned to Why am i left here on earth? With the personality i have. It is if the Lord sees that we do not bear fruit. He will take us home right away. John 15:1-8

The conclusion is that we who are on earth, still have people to save! We never really get bored. We go to work day after day. And as long as we bear fruit, we have a duty to the Lord! That is the meaning of our lives. Maybe some days we do not see this. Then it's good to come here on the web and see that your friends, siblings, are still here. We stack ourselves towards the goal that lies in the heart. Everyone, have confidence in this!

God bless us all in Jesus name, He will lead us to the whole truth. Amen

    Hi Gigi.

This is a significant portion of scripture. I would like to add a portion from the new testament.

We see here the difference between the ministration of the law and the ministration of grace.

FOR ONE THEY SANCTIFIED THERE SELVES 3 DAYS AND STILL COULDN'T APPROACH THE MOUNT. ( LAW)

Galatians 4:21-26. Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Hebrews 12:18-24. For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

WE'VE BEEN WASHED BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST. WE NOW CAN ENTER IN. (GRACE)

    Hebrews 10:10-22.

    2 Corinthians 3:6-11.

    God bless.

Brother Giannis none of this section isn't directed towards you, and thank you for sharing.

    Galatians 6:16.

Here's a verse that the replacement theologist often uses.

They combine that with Romans 9:6 and off they go.

Totally ignoring the surrounding scriptures and the context of the chapter, sometimes several chapters such as Romans Chs 9,10,11.

Let's look at the Israel of God in Galatians and the false teachings of some.

Here's the situation Paul is dealing with. Galatians 3:1-5.

You have to include the previous verses to get the context.

Galatians 6:12-16. Paul is talking about the Church, BUT what is often missed is he divides them into 2 groups.

Vs. 15) For in Christ Jesus neither CIRCUMCISION availeth any thing, nor UNCIRCUMCISION, but a new creature.

Vs,16) And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on "THEM," and mercy, and upon the "Israel of God."

Notice THEM in verse 16, "Uncircumcised, Gentiles"

The Israel of God, " Circumcised! Messianic Israelites". Children of the promise mentioned in

    Romans 9:8.

So you see also in Romans 9:6, Paul is referring to those offspring of Abraham whether Ishmaelites, Arabian, Egyptian, or Israelites.

And those of the Promise, The remnant,

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

    Galatians 4:22-23.

    Here's the Context.

For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

    Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 9:3-5.

You see if you put it in context it explains itself.

You have to twist a lot of scripture to make these passages the Church.

    God bless.

    Amen Brother Jesse!

God called out a Gentile and made a unconditional covenant with him and confirmed it with a Son. The Child of promise. And we're children of the same promise.

It has nothing to do with Israel or any other people inability to keep the law. So why would God void his Promises to Israel and give those promises to another gathered people who cannot keep the law.

    See Galatians 3:17-18.

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

    Here is what's being challenged.

Hebrews 6:13-19. Touching this unconditional covenant I believe you see it performed in a unconditional manner in Genesis 15. when God put Abraham to sleep and performed it by himself.

We are joint heirs in that promise.

    " Galatians 4:28."

Some lay it on Israel to initiate Gods promise or it will be taken away is in the same group that says you can loose your salvation.

So the Church has not taken over the promises to Israel,

The Church also is not spiritual Israel. And the Church is not the Israel of God.

God fulfilled his promises of the first coming of Christ and he will fulfill the many promises of Christ second coming and set up His literal Millennium kingdom here on Earth.

    Thank you and God bless.

    Terri,

Matthew 7:21 to 23 gives us the correct understanding of salvation. And please take note of these three things concerning salvation: Number one, it is not what we say. Number 2, it is not what we do. And number 3, it is who He knows!

So first of all, in Matthew 7:21, Jesus says that it is "Not what we say." Jesus says, "Not everyone that says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven." So there will be many that will call on Him but are void of His Spirit. They will not enter in.

Secondly in Matthew 7:22, it is "Not what we do." Jesus says many will say to me, (and this is what they did): we prophesied in your name, we cast out demons, and did works of miracles. That is what they did, and they were right in proclaiming that. However, they did these things on their own, apart from God working in their lives.

Notice what Jesus tells them in the next verse ( Matthew 7:23). It's who He knows. Jesus says, "Then I will profess to them, I never knew you." You see, it is who He knows. A person is saved not because they know the Lord. A person is saved because the Lord knows them.

Over the last several years, I have been coming to know the Lord that already knew me. He already knows me! He calls me by name and I am one of His sheep. I respond to His voice.

Paul said the same thing in Galatians 4:9. He says, "But now after you have known God, but rather, you are known by God, how do you turn again to the beggarly elements?" You see, Paul corrected himself in Galatians 4:9. Now that you have come to know God, or rather, that God has come to know you, how can you go back out into the world?

I belong to Him. I claim Him as my Lord and Savior, but I am one of His sheep. He knows me. I'm not sure if He's proud of that, but He knows me. So it is not based on me knowing Him. It doesn't matter how much I think I know Him. If He doesn't know me, it means nothing!

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Elle.

Great question., Here's a few scriptures you can look over that may have answers to your questions.I would chime in when time permits. In the meantime hopefully someone can help us.

NOTICE THE PROMISES AND COVENANT MADE BY GOD WITH NO PARTICIPATION ALLOWED BY MAN.

    Genesis 15:1-12.

    Genesis 17:18-19.

    Romans 9:6-9.

    Galatians 4:22-31.

    EMPHASIS.

This Promised Covenant is the work of God and can't be annulled by man.

Likewise you see a similar method as a allegory in the birth of Jacob and Essau.

Gods elected way, "By grace ".

    Romans 9:10-12. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

    All for now

    God bless.

This is a fascinating thing. I heard a sermon one time saying the words spoken about "if someone sees the face of GOD they cannot live" he said "they cannot live, the same" Is this the question you're looking deeper into? Genesis 32:20,30, Exodus 33:11, Exodus 34:28-30,35,

    It would be very interesting to do a study on the words. Exodus 3:6, Exodus 33:20,23, Numbers 6:25, Deuteronomy 5:1-5, Deuteronomy 31:17,18, Deuteronomy 32:20, Deuteronomy 34:10, Judges 6:22, 1Kings 13:6, 1Chronicles 16:11, 2Chronicles 7:14, 2Chronicles 30:9, Psalms 13:1, Psalms 17:5, Psalms 22:24, Psalms 105:4, Isaiah 54:8, Isaiah 59:2, Jeremiah 21:10, Ezekiel 20:35,

Perhaps it's the word "man" that the emphasise is. Romans 8:14, Galatians 4:6, Hebrews 12:7, John 1:12, Philippians 2:15, 1John 3:1,2 , 1John 4:15, How sad it is when a living father says "see his face no more" or turns his face.

Genesis 3:8-10, interestingly, in this translation it says they heard "the voice of the LORD" they "hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God"

What's amazing is: Genesis 4:16, it appears even though they were cast out of the garden GOD's presence was still with them.

    Psalms 139, Job 4:15,

    Hopefully this is helpful

    Dear David

The Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox Christians do fast at lent for 40 days ( or the last week before Easter) because they celebrate the Easter as a holly day. So they fast before Easter and have Holly Communion at Easter. Not sure for Catholics but Orthodoxes do that. The fast they do is not a total absence of food and water or just food as it should be but they Keep away from certain foods like meat, milk, eggs,, olive oil and some other food.. Although this practise has started relatively early in church's history there has not been something like that written in the Gospel. On the contrary apostle Paul says that there are no Holly days now as there were in the times of the Old Testament. See Galatians 4:9-11. But as it written in Romans 14 it is not a sin if you do all these things as you do them for God but my opinion is if you know the precise way to serve the Lord just stay there.

    God bless you

:8 what I have found to be of great interest is the phrase "law of thy mother" this is understood in the sayings of the Apostle Paul, who taught us in Galatians 4:21-31 that Hagar is the old covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in stone and Sarah is the new covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in the heart. Here the Law of God is referred unto as Sarah for Christians, then the apostle states Jerusalem which is above is our mother as Christians, from these two statements we can interpret what King Solomon had hidden in his dark saying. Since our mother is New Jerusalem in the third heaven, the law from our mother is the Ten Commandments written in the heart, after we have figured this out, now we can try to digest the proverb, do not forsake the law of thy mother.

Typology in Christian theology and biblical exegesis is a doctrine or theory concerning the relationship of the Old Testament to the New Testament. Events, persons, or statements in the Old Testament are seen as types prefiguring or superseded by antitypes, events or aspects of Christ or his revelation described in the New Testament.

Jesus told the Pharisees in John 5:39-40,45-46:

    39. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

    45. Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

So if you or I read Moses and we don't see Jesus in what he wrote, Moses will accuse us of missing the whole point of what he wrote that was supposed to lead us to eternal life. I can't afford to do that. Can you?

For Adam as a type of Christ

    1 Corinthians 15:45-49

Christ as the last Adam. Adam is the first man and Christ is the second man. I think this verse gives me the latitude to say Christ is the second Adam, bit if you disagree read my post with the words last Adam instead.

    1 Corinthians 15:21-22

    Romans 5:12-19

Both of these passages show either by contrast or by similarity to how Christ's uniquely fulfills the role that Adam was supposed to fulfill, but failed at. Christ is the antitype of Adam according to Paul's teaching.

For Noah as a type of Christ

    1 Peter 3:18-22

"By like figure" is Peter's way of saying baptism and the resurrection of Christ is the antitype of Noah and his household being saved in the Arc.

The bronze serpent Moses lifted in the wilderness is a type of Christ on the cross. Numbers 21:6-9. John 3:14-15

Sarah and Hagar are types of the Old Covenant of the Law and the New Covenant of grace. Galatians 4:21-31. Paul calls this an allegory, but he uses it extensively for his doctrine.

Hello Cinda. As you may have been reading in Deuteronomy 18:9-14, the various occultish practises of the heathen were made known to the children of Israel, that when they come into their lands to conquer them, they don't adopt any of their practises, especially noted are these particularly wicked ones. And so an "observer of times" were those that used divination & the stars to deem certain days as more special than others. Even cloud formations were used to make predictions.

All these practises were not only devilish, but also demonstrated a clear lack of trust in God Who alone has the power & authority to instigate events in both personal life & in the worlds He has made. Even the Apostle Paul in Galatians 4:9-11 was very concerned for such practises still going on amongst some believers, as it is evident today, with the occult & horoscopes, that even believers sometimes resort to, to their hurt.

    Hi Brother Dan.

    Pt. 1

What I think is being missed in Galatians 3:29. Is that it actually says the opposite of the way you take it.

It says "you are Abraham's seed, and heirs, ""ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE"". Not law!! and not nationality.

The Promise spoken of here, "the covenant of God in Christ" was given to Abraham 430 years before the Law. Galatians 3:17. and before Israel was a nation.

So Galatians. 3:29. Is not saying you are Israelites it's saying you are children of Promise as we see in Galatians 4:28. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

I think the confusion is when often you call members of the church Israelites citing Galatians 3:29. and

    Romans 2:29.

    But you must consider

Galatians 3:28. "THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS."

So when you revisit Romans 9 and take on Romans 9:6-8. "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: "but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

This is not making a distinction between Ishmael and Issac.

    It's a distinction between

    1) National Israel "The broken off branch who were blinded and who you are attempting to be grafted into " and 2) Messianic Israel who's joint members of the Church and children of the promise.

Have you noticed they all weren't broken off?

    Romans 11:17. AND "IF SOME" OF THE BRANCHES BE BROKEN OFF, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Romans 11:7. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; BUT THE ELECTION HATH OBTAINED IT, and the rest were blinded

    Here's why they're broken off.

    Romans 9:31-32.

Thanks for that very pertinent response brother S. Spencer. Sabbath in the beginning was essentially a rest day - for Israel - had nothing to do with worship, though it would have been a good occasion for personal reflection. And yet that Law & all Laws were given to not only show God's Righteous Standards, but Israel's inability to fully obey & reach that standard. Hence, the Law could only point everyone to the One Who could keep it perfectly & this was what Israel should have been earnestly seeking. Had they turned to the Law-Giver rather than rejecting Him, they would have understood that the Law, though holy & good, "was weak through the flesh" (it was powerless because our flesh could never meet & fulfil its high demands).

Israel & all mankind were doomed for their failures & sins, but for 'God sending His Own Son in our flesh, AND for sin, condemned sin in the flesh' ( Romans 8:3). "Sin is the transgression of the Law" but Jesus brought judgement to that sin (not to the Law) by meeting its every demand upon Him. So the Law & the sin that is its product, is now rendered useless/uncondemning to those who take hold of Jesus by faith - deriving their righteousness, that is without the Law, through the One Who gives us the victory over sin's judgement & sin's power, that is to say, the Law.

While we live "in Christ Jesus" and "walk after the Spirit" fulfilling the righteousness of the Law ( Romans 8:1,4) based on faith in the One Who abrogated the letter which only kills, how then can we turn to (or, even appeal to) the "weak & beggarly elements" that only have bondage & sin as their end ( Galatians 4:9)? Just a few thoughts here that your comment inspired in me to share.

Book of Galatians 3, teaches us that we are not under the Law. The law is a School master.

We are however under "common sense".

    Galatians 4:6

We need to be reading the Whole Bible; book after book. Slowly to grab up all the crumbs of Faith. Start in the Gospels and through to Revelation. Add in Proverbs for excellent teaching on WISDOM. Add Psalms for Emotional Healing and Strength.

Get a 24 pack of highlighters and make that Bible look like Someone read it wall-to-wall; and dug up all the silver and gold nuggets of Wisdom.

Get a Student Reference Bible and learn how to pull into your study, all the side scriptures and prophesies. Like in Psalms there is a prophesy about Judas. Jesus knew Judas would betray him.

Learn how To use the search engine on this website to look up scriptures to search for scriptures you barely remember so you can study them again. There's so many tools you can use in your studies. Then come back in here and tell me: DID YOU KNOW THAT. and hit me with some revelation :D I love love love that!

Always Ask the HOLY SPIRIT to teach you what you are reading. He is your #1 Teacher. He can open up scripture like you cannot imagine. He will peel back the veil and let you see wonders; reveal JESUS just to you. Then you get to teach that to someone else. That's how the whole thing is supposed to work!

Google the Ministry of the Holy Spirit; what He does for believers. You are hunting without bullets if you don't know enough to get some.

We're going to run into opposition eventually, Ephesians 6. You must know how to fight back the way God wants us to fight evil spirits.

Read Romans 1. The GODHEAD. The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Godhead. He co-created this earth. He is most beloved of Jesus. He is the spirit of Christ Jesus. The law of Christ makes us FREE.

God keep you close and may the Lord bless and keep you.

    Hi Charles.

The conflict over Israel is not the wrong DNA.

GOD said he will make a nation out of Abraham. Genesis 12:2.

God confirmed a covenant with Abraham and his seed afterwards. Genesis 17:7.

These promises was also confirmed with Isaac and Jacob.

It's the heir of promise given to Abraham.

Down through Isaac and Jacob that is fought over.

See: Galatians 4:29-30. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

The seed that was promised to come that would bless the world is Christ.

Galatians 3:16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

If you study the Genealogy of Christ you will see they're Gentiles in it. Ruth being one. and also Rahab.

God sanctified Israel and gave them the seal of circumcision. "A cutting away the filt of the flesh " Gentiles was considered unclean. but if the wanted to come into the camp and remain they had to be circumcised.

Genesis 17:12. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

    TODAY CIRCUMCISION AVAILETH NOTHING.

    Galatians 6:15.

    Son's of GOD = 1 John 4:15, Galatians 4:7, 1 John 5:10, Ezra 3:2, Hebrews 12:7, Revelation 21:7, 1 Timothy 1:2, 1 Corinthians 6:2-3,

Jesus CHRIST the MESSIAH referred to the most as Son of GOD. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Hebrews, etc.

    Luke 3:38,

    * Romans 8:14, * Hebrews 1:13-14,

I understand "Son's of GOD presented themselves before GOD" to mean= they prayed notice Job 1:5, "offered burnt offerings" then vrs. 6._._._ the accuser came, Revelation 12:10,

    Genesis 4:26, Luke 3:38,

    Exodus 34:2, Leviticus 14:11, Leviticus 16:28, 1 Samuel 10:19, Daniel 9:18, Luke 2:22, Romans 12:1, Jude 1:24-25,

    Hi Ellen.

The flesh relationship that one would have with Abraham profit you nothing in regards to being a joint heirs of the promise.

We are heirs of the promise by faith!

Galatians 4:28-31. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

    Abraham was given

Romans 4:8-11. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

THE NATURAL BIRTH DOESN'T COMMEND ONE TO GOD.

Galatians 3:6-9. Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Galatians 3:16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Neither Muslims or Jews accept this narrow way! John 14:6.

    God bless.

Kinsman redeemer by the humanity of Jesus Christ.

We see the kinsman redeemer in Leviticus 25:25. and we see it carried out in the book of Ruth chapters 1-4.

we see in Revelation 5:1-5. we see a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. and no one was able to open the book but the Lord Jesus. If you notice verse 3 it had to be a "MAN"/Human. And he had to be able. Perfect/Sinless. and he has to be willing. This could only happen by the deity of Christ in his Human form.

(His deity, He cannot sin.) (His humanity, He can take on our sin.) His humanity makes him our kinsman redeemer.

    References:

    Galatians 4:4-5.

    Hebrews 2:9-11.

Luke 4:18:19. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. "Restitution of all things"

Acts 3:21. (I believe this is yet to come)

I believe the jubilee foreshadowed this.

    study Leviticus 25:8-25.

What are we presently redeemed from? Galatians 3:13. The law condemned us and faith in Christ justified us.

    Galatians 3:5-13.

However, our bodies have not been redeemed yet, If so there will be no more death.

    Also, Romans 8:19-23.

    GOD BLESS.

One important aspect of Jesus humanity that I believe get lost in the shuffle is he is our Kinsman redeemer. He couldn't be that without his humanity.

Galatians 4:4-5. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

    Revelation 5:2-9.

    God bless.

Hi Rick Mentzer; I hope you have understood the priesthood of Levi, for the entire Old testament has been destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ, on Calvary, as he nailed it to his cross, he had slain that law of Moses and broke down that middle wall of partition that kept the Jews and Gentiles at war with each other. Ephesians 2:14-16 and Colossians 2:14-15

If you have fully comprehended this then you too would not be involved in tithing, or unclean animals, or circumcision for salvation, and the like. Also I would recommend reading time and again the Apostle Paul's master piece on the Ten Commandments in stone, known as the old covenant, and also Hagar. for Christians today must be under the Ten Commandments in the heart, known as the new covenant, and also Sarah. Galatians 4:21-31 I have written about this here in this book of Galatians, for your reading, and to further advance the knowledge of liberty given unto Christians who need to be make from the obeying any Old Testament laws, or the Ten Commandments in stone.

    Hi Kathy,

I would like to add to the truth Cait has given referencing Hebrews 12:18-23.

BUT YE ARE COME UNTO MOUNT SION, AND UNTO THE CITY OF THE LIVING GOD, THE ( HEAVENLY JERUSALEM, ) and to an innumerable company of angels,

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Notice the contrast. In Exodus 19:10-12. THE LORD TELL MOSES TO SANCTIFY THE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO WASH THERE CLOTHES, and bring them the third day, and they still couldn't touch the border of the law given mountain!!

In the Heavenly Jerusalem God don't wash garments, he gives new ones.

    Zechariah 2:10-13.

    Zechariah 3:1-9.

    Ephesians 4:20-24.

    Colossians 3:9-10.

    Parallel-

    Romans 8:3-4.

A general area to study in.

    Hopefully someone will add.

    God bless.

Hi Rick; Thanks for helping me in your right understanding, this is true, we are not practicing the old covenant today (Ten Commandments in stone) but rather the new covenant as in Hebrews 8:6-13. I am glad therefore you have not gone under that bondage. Stay blessed
  • Rick - In Reply on Galatians 4 - 2 years ago
Dr. Lyle Lee Actually the exact opposite is was I stated, In our time biblically age of Grace we operate in the law of agapeo love of God in Christ which put an end to the law.
