Discuss Deuteronomy 10

    Lee the Follower:

2 Peter 1:20 No PROPHECY of the scripture is (in and of itself it's) OWN private interpretation.

2 Corinthians 13:1 ...in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established .....

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall surely not DIE:

Genesis 3:5 FOR GOD DOTH KNOW that in the day you thereof, then your EYES SHALL BE OPENED, and ye shall be as gods, KNOWING GOOD and EVIL.

    This is ALL PROPHECY.

Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God SAID, Behold, the man HAS BECOME AS ONE OF US, to KNOW good and evil.....

The FRUIT was KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, the KNOWLEDGE of gods.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not WRITTEN in your LAW, ye are gods

John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the WORD the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.

    Psalms 82:6

Deuteronomy 10:17 your God is a God of gods, and Lord of Lords ....

Psalms 136:6 Give thanks unto the God of gods, for his mercy endureth for ever.

Now, Eve was a prophecy of the coming bride of Christ by HIS RESURRECTION, and what happened she was resurrected with her husband to never DIE.

The gift of God is eternal life.

God can even use Satan to speak prophecy, what did Satan say, Ye shall never DIE.

Luke 20:36 Neither can THEY DIE ANYMORE, Adam (Christ) took of the fruit and did eat with his wife and Christ and his wife (creation) DIED, and the spirit of the Father RAISED them as ONE FLESH), for they are equal unto the angels, and are the children of God, being the CHILDREN of the RESURRECTION.

Philippians 2:5 Let this MIND BE IN YOU, which also was in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, though it not robbery to be equal with God.

    God Bless YOU!

    GiGi:

Psalms is the words of Christ: 2 Samuel 23:1-2

Psalms 82:6 I (Christ) have SAID, Ye are gods, the children of the most high.

Jesus himself QUOTED his OWN prophecy.

John 10:35 If HE (the spirit of prophecy) CALLED them (the children of resurrection) gods, unto whom the WORD OF GOD CAME, and the scripture CAN NOT be BROKEN.

Jesus is telling the Pharisees, they read and study the scriptures, but have no knowledge of their TRUE MEANING, very little has changed TODAY.

John 1:5 And the light shineth into darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

You say Psalms 82:6 means gods of this world, antichrist, sons of predition

Let's see what happens to this scripture when we apply it to mean as you define it.

I (Christ) have SAID, ye are gods (antichrist, sons of perdition, Satan, gods of this world), THE CHILDREN OF THE MOST HIGH.

Let's apply your definition to some other scriptures.

Deuteronomy 10:7 For the Lord your God is a God of gods (sons of perdition, gods of this world, antichrist)

Joshua 22:22 The Lord God of gods (gods of this world, sons of perdition, antichrist), the Lord God of gods ...

I hope you rethink what you are saying about GOD'S WORDS.

Could it possibly be your not rightly dividing God's Word, maybe Paul was talking about something completely opposite to what Christ was Prophesying.

My rebuttal is ALSO in LOVE.

Does the church you attend preach the KINGDOM of God, or is it like most churches and preaches heaven and hell?

    God Bless YOU!

Good morning Jerry. These verses come to mind:

    James 2:9

    Romans 2:11

    James 2:1-26

    Deuteronomy 10:17

    Galatians 3:28

    Acts 10:34

It says all should be treated the same with no favoritism. A certain political group virtue signals that some of a certain skin color were enslaved by some rich people in their own political group about 150-250 years ago. But all those people are dead. No one they're referring to are alive to give any such reparations back to, except they assume that by giving it to descendants then somehow something is made right? You can't change the past and it seems wrong to steal from one group to pay others who were never enslaved. It also seems wrong to show favoritism and act like if you have a certain skin shade that you deserve more sympathy or more money or pandering. What we see on TV is a circus. The Japanese and Germans enslaved and killed people only 81 years ago, but people somehow aren't demanding money for that, but for something twice as long ago. Meanwhile, there are child slaves coming across the southern border trafficked from cartels and other criminals but people aren't as upset about that either. There are also people enslaved right now in China, countries in Africa and other places that don't have people as upset about either. They are alive, and are imprisoned. There are even people in the US itself imprisoned as slaves who had no trial and just happened to be at the politically wrong place at the wrong time, and they are still alive too. What I see is amazing hypocrisy about money and privilege and victimhood as a form of self-worship as if somehow one who was never a slave was harmed, rather than actually helping current slaves alive now. God bless.

Hi Kevin, Deut 10:17 is a good example of this with LORD and Lord and lord in the same verse.

"For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:" Deuteronomy 10:17 KJV

GiGi is correct that the uppercase LORD is YHWH as the transliteration from Hebrew- known as Jehovah. The lowercase Lord and lord is Adon or Adoni. I learned this by clicking on the verse and you see it broken down.

Like many times, in our current world: when things go as it's supposed to, not much is mentioned but when it's going wrong, much more said. There was much wrong mentioned about wrongly leaving out Widows, Fatherless children, etc. Matthew 23:14, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47, Job 22:9, Acts 6:1, Isaiah 10:2 please read in context, by reading all verses around the verses given, so you have the "whole story". They also were judged because of that * Malachi 2:17, Malachi 3:5, Deuteronomy 27:19

    1Timothy 5, 1Corinthians 7, Deuteronomy 24:17,

I believe the Rules/Laws GOD gave forth to Moses for the Israelites was the ideal plan. These rules weren't not for "the rebellious nations, surrounding" probably because they may just disregard anyway.

I believe it's good if we look into the Laws & consider sincerely what we can apply today. Deuteronomy 14:29, Deuteronomy 16, we should share in our increase ( abundance ) Deuteronomy 24:19,20,21, elimination of greed, in every area

    Deuteronomy 10:18,

    James 1:27 , Matthew 25:35-41, Deuteronomy 26:13,14,

Please note these scriptures all seem to include treatment of people : James 2, note James 2:1-6, James 2:8, * James 2:14,15,16,17,

Hello Breeni. If you're wanting to see them in the Bible, then in Exodus 20:1-17, you will the full list. Otherwise, the actual hand-written tablets of stone written by the Finger of God ( Exodus 31:18), was last seen placed in the Ark of the Covenant, located in the Tabernacle or Temple ( Deuteronomy 10:1-5).

    Galatians 6:15,

Please see context: Deuteronomy 10:16, Deuteronomy 30:6, even in old testament men have argued their holiness, set apart status, (in the flesh) yet GOD said even then; it's about the heart. Jeremiah 4:4, Jeremiah 9:25, = Romans 2:29, Romans 3:30, Romans 4:11, 1Corinthians 7:18,

    Galatians 3:28,

They were still arguing circumcision, not equality in GOD. Acts 11:2, Galatians 2:12,

    New= 2Corinthians 5:17,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    FOR IT IS WRITTEN!!

A number of times during His earthly ministry, Jesus responded to questions with, "It is written" (7 times in Matthew, 4 times in Mark, 5 times in Luke, 1 time in John). In the Bible, we also read of many time when Jesus quoted the truths of God from the Hebrew Scriptures.

Satan doesn't dispute whether it was written or not. He tries to redefine the word of God.

    as seen here.

    Genesis 3:4-5. and

    Matthew 4:3-7, 10.

Notice every rebuke came from Jesus was by the written scripture.

    3) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

    4) But he answered and said, IT IS WRITTEN, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. ( Deuteronomy 8:3.)

    5) Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

    6) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. ( Psalms 91:11-12.)

    7) Jesus said unto him, IT IS WRITTEN again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

    ( Deuteronomy 6:16.)

    10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for IT IS WRITTEN, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. ( Deuteronomy 6:13. Deuteronomy 10:20.)

it's interesting The Lord and Satan goes back and forward over what is written.

They both took the scripture literally! The issue is how to apply it.

With Eve the Devil tactic was to misinform.

With the Lord the Devil tried to misapply scripture.

When the enemy can't remove the scripture he set tares amongst us to distort the ministry in every way possible.

    NOTE:

The notion that there is no Hell and there is no Satan comes from the same Evil source that told Eve she shall not surely die.

    God bless.

    I'm glad you asked!

Exodus 25, is where/when the Bible 1st describes the Ark of The Covenant / Testament. Exodus 26 is the detailed description of it's strict rules of being set within the holy place and the most holy, sanctified, behind the veil Exodus 26:33, then Exodus 30, Exodus 31, Exodus 35, Exodus 37, Exodus 39, Exodus 40,

Leviticus 16:2, is where the LORD warns, there are/were strict rules, even risk of life going before the Ark of The Covenant / testament,

Numbers 3 & Numbers 4, explains the care of the Ark & all things regarding the Temple; had dedicated people, & their children, that specifically looked after covering for items, even carrying them. Example: Numbers 4:5-15 note again threat of death in Numbers 4:15, & Numbers 4:16-20,

    Note Numbers 7:89, Deuteronomy 10:5,8, Deuteronomy 31:26, Joshua 3:13-17,

    1Samuel 5, 1Samuel 6, 1Samuel 6:19, remember the rules, GOD specifically said. 2Samuel 6:3-7, 1Chronicles 13:10, 1Chronicles 15:2-3, 1Chronicles 15:12-15, there are more examples._..if you would like more, let me know.

Significant that during the crucifixion of JESUS Christ our Savior that holy veil was torn: Mark 15:37-39, Luke 23:42-47, Matthew 27:50-51,

    * Hebrews 10, Hebrews 9,

Please read Hebrews 10 whole chapter

I agree Mike. It does seem awkward having a question mark at the end of verse 13, but I suppose that the translators felt they needed to put one in there because the question in verse 12 required it to be somewhere. Maybe, it would have better read, "And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee? Is it not to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways", etc. etc.

Deuteronomy 10 Verse 12 and 13 are apparently one sentence, so why do you think verse 13 ends as a list of questions and not as a list of commands? I've read it several times both ways and would appreciate your view. Thank you.

May the Lord bless our walk with Him. May we go forth bearing precious seed into the world we live in and obey the great commission by making disciples. Let us pray for the authority over us, for God ordained them ( Romans 13: 1-5; 1 Tim 2:1-3)

My prayer is that no one be lost, and that all find the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. ( 2 Peter 3:9)

May we all abide in His Word. For His coming is nigh.

    Hello Janoyce,

Just to expand a little more to the truth S Spencer shared with you. As recently someone had a question similar to yours. The Love of God, Jesus Christ, is beyond what we can imagine. What I perceive as more important to ask is "do I love Jesus Christ"?

God is Holy and hates sin. To repent from the sins of this world, giving your life to Him, and live to do His Will is very important. I will just leave a couple Scriptures for you showing how important it is for us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind. Our love for Him shall not be forgotten.

    Deuteronomy 7:9, Deuteronomy 10:12-13, Psalms 31:23, Psalms 97:10, Psalms 145:20, Proverbs 8:17, John 14:21,

    James 1:12, James 2:5,

    God Bless.

    Circumcision is in the Heart

Comment by Mishael: In the Bible circumcision was the sign of being in covenant with God. In the New Testament Paul had to teach that circumcision was now in the heart. (Stoned many times for that). A new and better Covenant was secured by Jesus on the Cross; ratified by His own blood.

    OLD TESTAMENT

    Genesis 17:10

This is my COVENANT which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

    Genesis 17:11

And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the COVENANT betwixt me and you.

    Genesis 17:12

And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

    Genesis 17:13

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

    Deuteronomy 10:16

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your HEART and be no more stiffnecked.

    NEW TESTAMENT

    Acts 7:51

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in HEART AND EARS, you do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you (now).
