The Lord put this verse in my heart, Colossians 3:2
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." It seems we sometimes worry too much on our life, marriage, children, but forget we should be focusing on Him and searching his kingdom

I love the comment quoting Colossians 3:3,4: "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." I am part of the dead in Christ when I die to self and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:23 tells us plainly who we are to please. It does not matter whether or not our job is considered to be important or not. If we do the job for God and not for any worldly praise, then that is all that matters.

Colossians 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. Paul was warning the Church of Collosians that they should be dead in Christ and not sin, or God will take away there life on earth. The disobedience Child of God was still saved but will be going to Heaven sooner.

Colossians 3:10 The image that created me renewed in knowledge. Heavy on the renewed. We know the knowledge before coming down.I know that zero is infinity. BUT if something is brand new this is where it comes from. This is where life comes from here originally. But the seed reproduces in a perpetual motion to carry on.Therfore all things are from God. He knows the odds on where the seeds fall.

Only an Apostolic, Jesus name (Pentecostal) church will anoint you with oil, and pray with you at the same time. No other churches believe in healing. And as Colossians 3:17 says, do ALL in the name of Jesus. If you want healing, the TITLES of father, son, and holy ghost, won't do it. God's word itself says - Jesus.

Ed, God bless. With all thanks to the LORD JESUS, that is the meaning of Isaiah 57:1. There is tribulation now and the world is nearing great tribulation which is the wrath of God on the children of disobedience. Yet some deny the LOVE of the truth and try to belittle our LORD'S sacrifice. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Ecclesiasticus 10:19 They that fear the Lord are a sure seed, and they that love him an honourable plant: they that regard not the law are a dishonourable seed they that transgress the commandments are a deceivable seed. Ecclesiasticus 34:16 For the eyes of the Lord are upon them that love him, he is their mighty protection and strong stay, a defence from heat, and a cover from the sun at noon, a preservation from stumbling, and an help from falling. Compare this and 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 "the mystery of lawlessness", and Colossians 3:5-7, with 1 John 3:4, which us the definition of sin. Furthermore, the whole letter of 1 John ties God's law together with love. An analogy would be: An Archer who is aiming at the target of righteousness God's ten commandments , contrasted with the one who is aiming at another target unrighteousness . Neither hit the bullseye perfectly 100 of the time, but each practice shooting one or the other target.

Verses 15 and 16, wolves, thorns and thistles cause bodily injury. Beware of men that claim to be religious but are false prophets that will physically harm you to express their beliefs. God is love, not hate. Teach the words of God peacefully, with patience and understanding. " Put on then, as God 's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience...forgiving each other. " - Colossians 3.12-13

Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. You must back up scripture with scripture. When I got born again I was raised to new life in my spirit with Jesus Christ. When my body dies dead I will be raised to have a new body with God and Jesus.. Therefore I will be dead in Christ : but I will be raised to life with Jesus . Lord : Descend : voice : trump. Raised. That is what I see in the scriptures.

Part 3 of 4 In Ephesians 5 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it If a man is truly a Christian knowing that Christ gave his life for the church which are people who follow Acts 2 38 then why would a man want to abuse and mistreat his wife? Colossians 3 9 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. God has never intended for a man to abuse and mistreat the woman, especially with mutilation. God never intended for a woman to be circumcised. God made this covenant with man.

Part 2 of 3 Colossians 3 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. The baptism means to submerge in water. The Greek word baptizo means to dip or to plunge. The symbolic meaning of the baptism is the burial. There are many examples of this throughout the Book of Acts.

Part 2 of 2 Colossians 3 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him . Baptism is a deed. It is an act in which you do. Therefore, even though it may not be written, because they are the Apostles I am very sure, through faith, that they did it. Another point to make is that there is nowhere in the Bible where a preacher baptized anyone calling the words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost over them. Not even when John the Baptist was baptizing. This is why I always say, Jesus stated it, Peter clarified it, and the Apostles carried it out. I was baptized with the preacher calling the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. I know the word is truth. I know that Acts 2 38 is the correct way for salvation.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on John 14 - 9 years ago
Baptism is not only a work but a deed as well. The word work means activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result. You make up your mind to follow Acts 2 38. You are putting for a physical effort to get the job done by being submerged in water according to the scriptures. The word deed means something that is done, an act or action. Colossians 3 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. The baptism means to submerge in water. The Greek word baptizo means to dip or to plunge. The symbolic meaning of the baptism is the burial. There are many examples of this throughout the Book of Acts. The baptism is so important that in Acts 19 1 7 these 12 men had to be rebaptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Jesus said it Peter clarified it on the day of Pentecost, Acts 2 38, the Apostles carried it out. Even Paul who is the Gentiles Apostle baptized Acts 19 1 thru 7. Baptism is very important and part of the salvation plan.

Part 2 of 2 Colossians 3 17 "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him, " A deed is a thing done, act. Baptism is a act in which we do according to Acts 2 38. Therefore, when doing this deed or act of obedience to the Word of God we must call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Hello James See in Colossians 3 17 when it speaks about "deed " a deed is a thing done or an act. This is what baptism is, it is a deed done for the remission of sin. So the scripture states that "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him ".
