Satan's machinations: PART TWO (further study on Satan's affect on us as individuals)

Part Two: The battle of the mind.

In my last post; I ran out of space again; but was getting into the verse where Jesus told Satan to get behind him when Peter was stating that basically going to the cross was not fit for Jesus to do. This shows how Christ expects us as His disciples to rely totally on the Spirit to allow the flesh to be dead. Luke 4:8 is the other verse where Jesus says this to Satan after the temptations in the wilderness. We see a difference between Peter then and after Pentecost as Jesus foretold after he denied knowing him. In all fairness since ALL the disciples ran off their fear for their lives superseded their love for Christ. This truly shows how only trust in the Spirit of God will enable us to face death with courage should it be in the time and place God has chosen. As I have said before it is the end of a life of obedience that Christ and in fact all the Disciples except for John met their fate; the spiritual man grows and matures through self denial and service to that point.

Our thought processes are determined merely by our old man at birth. Thus characteristic behaviors and routines develop which tend to linger with us even post salvation. There are; of course the affects of nurturing vs cruel parents; abundance or poverty in youth which the Lord is aware of but also weigh in on the enemy's game plan. Of course with the mind along with everything else the enemy attacks us with the easiest thing to do is be determined to TRUST God and reject any thought which isn't captive to His (God's) will ( 2 Corinthians 10:5); compare with 2 Timothy 2:26. We learn to recognize the enemy's patterns after hopefully only a few similar assaults at our weakest points. We learn to discern the Spirit of God which is outside of self from Satan's devices; which always appeals to the flesh and exalting self. RUN IF IT GOES AGAINST SCRIPTURE!

    Meditation for today, obedience.

2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

    - Strive to keep worldly thoughts out of our mind.

    - Nothing in this world can compare to God's creations, and what he has promised us if we follow Christ.

    - Concentrate on being obedient to Jesus/God's words by turning from fleshy desires and replacing with prayer.

    - Pray for the ability to really love everyone as Jesus tells us to do.

Feel free to share your thoughts on obedience to God.

    Happy Sabbath Day!

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CORINTIANS (Part 1):

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 is one of my favorite verses in scripture. Paul says the tools of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful with God for the pulling down of strongholds.

Here's what he means by strongholds. Pulling down reasonings, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Notice that. That exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are living in the day where people do put down the knowledge of God. They say you need to forget the bible, and the bible is so divisive, and people can't agree on what it says so you need to stay away from it.

But Paul says pulling down every reasoning and every high thing exalting itself against the knowledge of God and taking captive every thought into the obedience of Christ. So not only was Paul concerned about the salvation of people, but he was concerned after they were saved about their thoughts, and bringing their thoughts into the obedience of Christ, and captive to Him, having in readiness that we should avenge all disobedience whenever your obedience should be fulfilled.

So, he says it starts with you Corinthians. First is to get you to be obedient. And then we come in and we will avenge and correct all other disobedience as we find when we come there to Corinth.

    I: ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Paul is the writer. His inscription is on all 13 of his letters. In 1 Corinthians, it was Sosthenes that was also co-author with Paul. In this letter, it is Timothy. Timothy has become Paul's assistant. In fact, something Paul said in Philippians was that Timothy was like-minded. And so, Timothy was raised as a Christian around Paul and now is his assistant. Timothy would eventually pastor in Ephesus. And that's a very important church as far as the history of the church goes.

    Part 2, Continuation.

    - So here Satan Knew very well what He was doing and one fact that you Mention in your post is that peter was a friend of The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and Satan attempted to use this friendship and this moment to tempt The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God Also Satan knew very well what is written in Matthew 6:54 ,54But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?.

    - And to get a clear understanding of how Satan took over peter, remember the events of Judah when Satan entered him resulting to the betrayal of The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. it's written in Luke 23:3-4 , Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. 4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him unto them.

hence you see here Satan was responsible for enticing both Judas and peter, Therefore Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God Rebuked peter by saying get behind me Satan. Jesus The Living God never said this word because he was in a cranky mood, but he rebuked Satan who was enticing peter to speak those words which he spoke to Jesus.

So, what lessons do we learn from this Events?

    1. Always be on your Gurd as a Christian who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, for our weapons is not carnal but might through God and we do not wrestle Flesh and blood but persons without bodies who are always looking for opportunity to entice us to Sin. so Put on the whole armor of God. its written in 2 Corinthians 10:3 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

    2. Satan will even attack someone close to you Just to get through to you and this is an example of his Attacks and it's important for every believer who believes the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God to Read your Bible To be given in Prayers and to fast before God and if anyone Lucks wisdom let him pray and ask the

Dear Christina, This is something all born-again believer goes up against. 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) God has given us His Word to combat the arrows of the devil and his demons. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. What is the whole armour of God. Ephesians 6:14-18

    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Don't argue with him. Do what Jesus did when He was tempted in the wilderness. For example:

Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

See? Don't argue with him. Memorize scriptures that guide you against whatever things you are tempted to do, and quote them as Jesus did. James 4:7 Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Dear Ruben, God will restore you to His will. All you have to do is ask Him to forgive you and repent from your backsliding ways with His help. Psalms 139:23, 24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Pray, read and study His Word, asking Him to show you how to walk. Psalm 25:4 Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Here is the fruit of the Spirit that true Christians bear with the help of God. Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

This prayer will help with what you are going through with the devil:

Father, please give me wisdom, strength, and determination to stand in the battle raging

about me. Help me use all the armor and weapons You have given me to their fullest extent. 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

    God bless!

What does 2 Corinthians 10:7 mean?

Paul's legitimacy as an apostle is being challenged in the church at Corinth. This is probably coming from outsiders who are false teachers or self-titled apostles. Those opponents point to Paul's continual suffering, his weakness as a speaker when in person, and perhaps the lack of signs and wonders he performs as evidence that he is not much of a spiritual leader. Some Corinthian believers may have begun to believe these challenges, turning not just from Paul but also from Christ, whom Paul represents.

This passage urges these Christians to look at the evidence right in front of them. In other words, why is there a church in Corinth in the first place? Why do most of them even believe in Christ? They believed the gospel when Paul preached it to them. How could they believe themselves to belong to Christ and not believe that Paul also belongs to Christ?

Some translators read the Greek phrase at the beginning of this verse differently. The NIV, for instance, translates it, "You are judging by appearances," meaning that the Corinthians are sizing Paul up based on his unimpressive physical presentation instead of the spiritual reality in Christ. This translation would also make sense in the context of the letter, as does the idea that Paul is urging them to look around and see the results of his teaching with their own eyes.

Comment: outward appearances mean nothing. It's what's on the inside (our spirit in step with the Holy Spirit), that is to be communicated. The Holy Spirit chooses the message; and sometimes the messenger.

Man looks on outward appearances, but God looks on the heart. If a human will not speak it, He may use a donkey.

Some things are spiritually discerned. Is the Holy Spirit welcomed into your Church Service? Flesh has no life in it. Only the Holy Spirit can breathe life into the message.

What does this mean to you?

    amen

    2 Corinthians 10:3-7

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

    In Jesus name amen

Myfarewellmessagetothissite Matthew 10:14, Luke 9:5. God tells me to go back and convince one more time the people reading this site-must know that God sent his only begotten Son to destroy sins. He died once for all of us Galatians 3:28 in a very powerful way. A pattern that is similar in the Old Testament-sacrificial shedding of blood of the lamb. God knows we cannot save ourselves. So we need a Saviour Jesus Christ. He did it for us All. My prayers are to help everyone understand this basic concept and many will be saved. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. We do not believe in vain, nor we put the work of ALL apostles, most especially Paul who was the last apostle to write plethora of information for everyone to be saved. Remember the Bible is complete by itself. God gave us a free gift of grace Romans 5:15-18. The ten Commandments are for us to see how sinful we are. That is why Paul calls it a schoolmaster Galatians 3:24-25. So when you believe, trust and have faith in Jesus Christ's blood that He shed for our sins Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10 we die with Him Galatians 2:20. That is the baptism without submerging yourself into the water Acts 1:5, Acts 10:47,Roman's 6:3, Galatians 3:27, 1 Corinthians 10:2. We are not divided Christians 1 Corinthians 1:13-16, 1 Corinthians 12:13. Once you are saved you are sealed Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 1:22, John 6:27. Jesus sent Paul to seal us Gentiles Romans 15:28. So grieve not Ephesians 4:30. When the Holy Spirit is in you you do not want to commit sin, if you do, you are letting your old self to dominate your spirit. We are walking in the Spirit of God. God already won. Do not let Satan defeat you (on going Spiritual warfare) that is why let every thought to be with God 2 Corinthians 10:5. I came back to fulfill with the help of the Holy Spirit to ask that you trust only Jesus and not yourself here on earth. Let Jesus do the rest. It is indeed true OSAS.Sealed is sealed. You reap what you sow on earth. Peace&joy to ALL.

Dear Sarah, draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

Make time for Him in daily devotions--praying earnest prayers for others and for yourself, confess the sins you know you've committed, and ask Him to forgive the ones you've forgotten and the ones you aren't even aware of doing.

Repent of the sins you are guilty of doing and don't do them again. Read and study the Bible, sing, and magnify His name. Live for Him 24/7 and let Him shine so that others will see Him through you. It isn't an easy road, but putting him first and foremost is the only way to a victorious life in Christ.

I've found this verse to be very powerful: 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

    Hi Laurie.

    Spiritual warfare.

In Ephesians 6:11. we see mentioned the Armour of God and also the wiles of the Devil.

Vs 11. "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

In Ephesians 6:12. Is where I believe you will find your answer.

Vs 12. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

It's what's behind the scene wickedness is what are at war with, whether the prince of this world, (Satan) his governing and influence on those in the flesh. On nations, People, other religions and Some Churches. False teachers is spiritual warfare against the truth. Ministers of Satan!! One way ou recognize them is they have no purpose but lure you away from the truth. The Armour of God protects us.

    Here's an example.

Matthew 16:23. But he turned, and said unto Peter, GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Jesus goes right to the source behind Peter.

    Also here.

Acts 16:16-18. And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

    2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    2 Corinthians 10:7 Commentary

Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? Many JUDGED Paul by the meanness of his person, the weakness of his body, the lowness of his voice, his outward circumstances of life, his poverty, afflictions, and persecutions; and despised him; whilst they looked upon the riches, eloquence, haughty airs, noisiness, and personable airs of the FALSE APOSTLES, and admired them.

IF a man trusts that he is Christ's: is fully assured that he has an interest in Jesus's love and favour, is redeemed by his blood, is a partaker of his grace, and a believer in him; that he is a minister of the Gospel, and an disciple of Christ, one that is qualified and sent forth by Jesus to preach the word.

Who don't go about to disprove others of being Christ's or not (by judging).

My comment: Anyone that is born again through Christ Jesus the Lord, and has received the Holy Spirits Baptism: is going to be SCRUTINIZED by most everybody. Especially if the Holy Spirit has anointed you to ministry. So remember that your GIFT will make room for you. It's useful to have a good relationship with your Church's leadership.

Satan doesn't want us to do what Jesus is calling us to. Being on leaderships prayer list is a good thing.

We submit ourselves to Jesus's leadership and Follow Him. My baby Christian-hood was spent within Church leadership for a season. I was involved evangelistically with other street preachers. We all had jobs too.

Apostle Paul was traveling with other followers of Jesus. But he was singled out (with Satan's help) to be hated for appearance, message, volume , knowledge of Jewish, Roman, and other learning. Don't take it personally. "THEY" are responsible for their own deeds.

You do what Jesus said to do. He will catch "all the rocks" that people aim at you. You're Gods kid__that's all you need to know. Read Ezekiel slowly. We got it good.

u know folks, while listenning to 'uplifting' gospel music ["I feel your spirit" sung by Polish young people & "flash mob" videos ] i felt led to share some thoughts/scriptures with you concernig today's present world situation [i.e. spiritual warfare]. Paul here in this chapter vs.4-5 reminds us what our warfare & weapons are all about, especially if/when sin is in the/our camp, thru out the Bible (KJV) revival & victory is won/guaranteed when we put WORSHIPPERS IN FRONT/AHEAD OF EVERYTHING ELSE (did we forget again?), beginning with a return to the Word Of God! Remember Jericho? The Day Of Pentecost, Hezekiah's revival etc?

The scripture in Isaiah 58:1 says show *'My People' their transgressions & *'The House Of Jacob' their sins! A clear distinction of the two ("why call me LORD, LORD ....). Can you imagine what would/could happen if we put Judah (Praise/spiritual weapons) in front/before PEACEFUL patriotic truckers assemblies world wide, especially in CANADA & AMERICA? What could the people satan is using do "IN SUCH A TIME AS THIS" (REMEMBER QUEEN ESTHER)

"NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US CAN/WILL PROSPER" Isaiah 54:17, no matter who seems to be in power! Stop following the enemies [followers of the devil (evil one)] naratives/talking points and do as little David did against his giant foe, Goliath! He used what worked for him, 'his weapon' (sling shot) and we all should know what followed!

So be encouraged to fight these situations with OUR WEAPONS WHICH ARE SPIRITUAL, and watch what happens, Game Over! "If my people who are called by My Name, would humble themselves & pray...."

"Doers & not hearers" of God's Word(s)! Amen? AMEN!!! Patriots everywhere need our support [try worship music at your events when possible; it will also attract & encourage our young people & others]

I'm your brother in Yeshua Hammachiah/Christ Jesus our Lord & Saviour; I am also a whosoever of whosoevers according to John 3:16.

Romans 1:21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

2things about water baptism to consider.

#1 is WHO was present (in Spirit) at the baptism of Jesus Christ himself? Answer; God the Father, Jesus himself, and the Holy Spirit that descended upon Jesus, like a dove!(Father, Son, Holy Spirit, right?)

#2 Why did Jesus Christ himself say in Matthew 28:19 to "go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY GHOST, teaching them to observe all things what so ever I HAVE commanded you and low I am With you always even until the end of the world amen".

Jesus said this after He resurrected before He ascended to THE FATHER.

Please make sure that you study the whole Bible YOURSELF, PRAYERFULLY. And if something doesn't sit right in your spirit then keep praying about it keep studying. Be careful not to cherry pick scriptures from the Bible but take the entire Bible as a whole when seeking your answers.

Lord be with you and your search.

God is faithful and true and he will not let you be deceived if you seek Him with all your heart

Indeed. As Paul aptly wrote in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5: "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds); Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

Our concern now is in the spiritual realm, doing battle with the enemy of our souls. What happens to our physical life as a result of the enemy's or his cohorts' attacks, matters little; "whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." ( Romans 14:8). And this is the joy & confidence we have in Christ Who has gone on before us & before Whom nothing escapes or is forgotten. We can rejoice in all circumstances, for our names are written in Heaven.

Another area in the word that most christians don't understand is renewed mind, because until a christian by

his will changes His mind to line up his thoughts on the word of God he will never walk by the spirit and manifest what

God has made available. As far as my understanding the renewed mind is the key to walking by the spirit because your

body is controlled by the mind and the mind has to be made captive.

2 Corinthians 10:4+5 this is Gods will and our job to do we bring every thought, that is why there are a lot of

scripture dealing with[ heart mind thought] we bring every thought captive to the obedience of the christ in us which is lifetime of work. Most christians do not believe this is required, there comfort zone is Romans 10:9+10 but again a lot have not been taught or don't believe it.
