I noticed "His testimonies " being used in Deut. 6 17 and in Psalm 119 2, 119 14, 119 22, and 119 31. I know our testimony is what God has done in our lives, but what are His testimonies ? NKJV

This verse reminds us, that God-our Creator and Supreme Ruler of this universe, wants us to love Him unconditionally. He wants us to submit to Him totally without any reservation. A total surrender is all that He needs from us, being His created beings. He wants the best from us in all areas of our lives. And when this happens, only then can he impart to us His attributes which will flow and radiate to our neighbors.
  • Patty on Deuteronomy 6 - 10 years ago

  • Ray G. on Deuteronomy 6:5 - 10 years ago
In reading William B.'s comments, in particular his final words, "Thank you Lord for allowing me to type these words" brought me to tears. We truly need to be thankful the Lord is there for us and loves us so as we could never survive on our own accord. We do need the Lord as he truly wants our love.
  • Gwen on Deuteronomy 6:5 - 10 years ago
    Thank You!!!!
  • Rev. Autrey on Deuteronomy 6 - 10 years ago
"The Lord our God is one Lord." This means that we must never set up a mental image of God as 3 separate beings and call each one God. This is something the pagans do. They have many gods, all separate from each other. And if it is wrong for them, then it is doubly wrong for God's people. It is even more wrong because this verse says that we should know better.

What I am saying is, if you think you have 2 or more gods, then you do. That is pure paganism at its best. And something that is an abomination to God.

It is pure paganism because it comes from the mind of Satan, and not from God. God's thoughts for us is this, there is only one God. And we are to love him only.

Let's say it plainly: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all the same God. These 3 persons are distinct in their ***ignments, but still the same substance or entity. This is what it means by "Let us make man. ..."

Jesus, the Son, then, is the distinct way or personality through whom God visited us in the Old and New Testament. And the way he died on the cross.

    GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Commenting to Muhammad Kalam's Deuteronomy Chapter 6 comment about verse 4 on 12/22/2012, 11:28am...

No man can even / ever see God or know of God unless he be of Prophet to do God's work whether before or after the Christ. Therefore, believing in the Christ is the only way that any man or woman will ever come close to knowing what Heaven will ever be like! So, no one can ***ume that the Christ is not of the one God!
  • William B. on Deuteronomy 6:5 - 11 years ago
The Lord thy God (Lord of life, God of all created and evolved). God gave us a Heart when we love the Lord God with all our heart, then we are truly alive; for he gave us a heart to love him with all our Soul, Our entire being (all our mind and senses). You know God's entire being; life-love force encompasses the universe, eternity, surely a fragment of our mind, heart and soul is what he gave us to (look at all weve made for this life on Earth that God gave us). Havent you done all that you could with all your strength and might. Lord God, let us all by evolvement or your creativeness, LOVE YOU with all the heart and the souls you gave us to live in, and with all our might to care for the Earth that is not ours but Gods. Do you have a mind? Or do you mind knowing that the power of our mind was given to us. Do you know why? Because when your mind is on the LORD THY GOD WHO MADE US ALL IN HIS IMAGE then you shall surely know the meaning of the greatest command ever spoken by his Son. How much does God love you, he gave us to know the meaning of love. His son gave his soul (life for us to his Father), so we could keep ours. The one thing on Yeshua's (God's Son) mind was that he did this from his heart and what did he have in mind when he gave all his strength and might on the torture stake. Next time you hold a child in your arms you may see the answer clearly. For God's Love goes on forever. Are you ready to step into eternity with his Gods son, in the purest words ever spoken. Then Love the Lord thy God with all you heart, for then Yeshua becomes part of your living soul and with all your might and strength you have left. Say Yes Lord God I love you! Why? because Eternity waits for those who can live by this greatest commandment! Have faith in the LORD GOD'S LOVE. YOU KNOW THAT GOD ALWAYS wins. Why? Because he said so, GOD'S LOVE ALWAYS WINS. Thank you Lord for allowing me to type these words.

Just read the book of Isaiah. Clearly clearly Jesus is Lord, the I Am, God. He came in the flesh to save us.
  • Kweli on Deuteronomy 6:5 - 11 years ago
To love the Lord thy God is a total experience encompassing all of a person; the mental, physical, social and spiritual. We are His children who can only touch him through our souls, consequently, our love must equally encompass with nothing held back. So how do we accomplish such a feat? Only through total love and submission, i.e. giving to Him on all levels of our formative existence. So love Him then love Him some more.
  • Eric on Deuteronomy 6 - 11 years ago
To Muhammed Kalid, my friend you are mistaken. Isaiah 9 Clearly states "unto us a child is given, unto us a Son is born... and you shall call him Wonderful, Counselor, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace". This verse clearly describes Jesus the "child given" as the everlasting Father. Jesus himself in John 8:58 refers to Himself as "I Am" as used in the book of Exodus. In John 10:30 Jesus says "I and my Father are one". In Revelation Chapter 3 Jesus refers to himself as the Alpha and the Omega, with no beginning and no end. Only Almighty God has no beginning. Even the Qur'an states that Jesus is the greatest prophet. I do not for a moment disrespect Muhammad in saying this. You may check for yourself. May God be with you and continue to open your heart to Him.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Deuteronomy 6 - 11 years ago
Dear Sir, Jesus was born of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, so that He could taste death on the cross for everyone. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by Satan, He said worship God only, and Him shall you serve. Jesus told Thomas after His resurrection to touch his side, and the nail prints, then Thomas replied my Lord, and my God. Jesus when He came to earth, He set aside some of his rights as God, but He is fully God, and man. He will come again this time as King of King, and Lord of Lords. We pray that you will receive Him as your Savoir. May the Lord bless you.

Make of these what you will: I hope you find your way. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. John 10:30 I and my Father are one. 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
  • Muhammad Kalam on Deuteronomy 6:4 - 11 years ago
I extremely agree that Bible says God is one. But extremely disagree that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is Almighty God. Not only the Glorious Qur'an says but also the Holy Bible says that! And there isn't a single verse of the Holy Bible which says that Jesus Christ, or himself said "I'm God" or he said "Worship me". I challenge all Christians on that.
