    Chapter 22 Verse 5. Clearly this is talking about cross dressing. Now being it is considered an abomination (something God Hates Strongly) it will still apply today. Certain laws did not change, example the Ten Commandments which still hold true in the New Testament. (Under Grace). God has not changed in his judgement or believes. All of these things can be forgiven but once forgiven as Jesus said to the woman at the well, go and sin no more. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

    Lev 19:2 enjoins us to be holy for God is holy Romans 12 :1&2 also tell us to present our bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable to God and be not conformed to this world. The word of God also tells s to flee fornication for no fornicator will inherit the kingdom of God. Matt 5 tells us that if a man lusts after a woman he has committed adultery already with her in his heart. You judge from a sincere heart, how can a woman wear trousers without looking sexy no matter the design.
    only God knows the no of men that woman would have seduced a day without her knowing it. The word of God also says we should flee the appearance of evil. Even if is a very tight skirt or dress that a woman wears and it outlines her figure and becomes revealing it can become seductive and she has to flee that . God is not mocked whatsoever a man sowed he shall surely reap .Modesty is the watchword .Mind u in these last days the devil has invented so many things including ungodly fashion in order to derail christians and drag them to hell so beware and be sober. The word of God is full of enough instructions to us to know the mind of God concerning all aspects of our lives so there will be no excuse for any one who dresses in an ungodly manner

    According to deuteronomy 21 vs 18 to 21, therefore, whosesoever will not obey the commandment of God in deut. 22 vs 5 is stubborn and rebelious . And such person will not inherit the kingdom of God.

    There are 30 verses in Chapter 22. But the only verse everyone seems focused on is verse 5. What makes that one verse more important than all the others? Having been raised with this drilled inside my head my whole life; I understand it is of the most importance in some religious organizations. But if that is a LAW that we must take literally, then shouldn�t we take them all in that chapter literally? Why is it that we believe GRACE for all the other verses ("It doesn�t apply for today because of grace") but yet we are held firmly to separation of men and women�s appeal (pants and skirts only; example - women can put on mens boots or coat if needed)
    Verse 11: Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woolen and linen together. Many preachers standing on the platform preaching firmly on separation of men and women�s appeal are doing so while their suits are made with divers sorts� what is the difference??? One verse is important and the other isn�t? I have heard it explained this way, that the one with the divers sorts was given under the Law� ???? They were both given under the Law!
    Verses 13-29 Why aren�t these verses taken literally and done as told to do when one is found in adultery. How many fathers would stone their own daughters to death today if she is found not to be a virgin upon her wedding night?
    I guess my question continues to be, �Why is only one verse out of 30 not under Grace?�

    Let it be that all who spoke on this issue,have spoken based on thier understanding of the scriptural pasage in quetion. It mustn't be based on selfish interest and desire. On this note, let me drop on our mind, that if some mode of dressing would aid the present day moral decadence, let's for kingdom sake see how we could get rid of such. As the scripture says, cut off any part of your body that causes one to sin or may deprive one of the kingdom of God. More so, having known that fashoins nowadays have really been influenced and corupted by the devil. If other religion could have a standard, let christains, while waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ maintain absulute decency and modesty in dressing.Encourage one another by our dressing to stand not to fall.

    Read Galatians 3:19-29. The first point is that we are no longer under the law. The law was given for a reason as the scriptural reference states. That aside, pants never existed as at the time when this law was given. I've never come across any portion of the scripture where God assigned pants to be a males dressing. Also Read Galatians 5:13. Ye have been called to liberty ; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. So you clearly see that it's about the state of your heart and you are clearly no longer under the bondage of the law. Gal 3:10. Nuff said.

    This scripture written for all the human b/c God created them male/female and God wanted to see them as He created them.and want some changes between female and male apperance,if we not follow them this againt the Law.culturely we what ever dress is eprated for men women we should follow.man should not wear female,s cloth and female should not mens dress.

    the creation of man and woman was not for clothing (why would God even make man and woman) clothing was created for them in the garden after their eyes were opened. and while you are certainly entitled to your opinion, no one in biblical days wore pants. The bible is full of references on "robes". Ikings 22:10 22:30 2chron. 18:9 18:29 luke7 20:46 rev. 6:11 7:9 7:13 7:14. I personally know women who only wear dresses and keep their hair long, they really love the Lord. i also know women who have very short hair, who also love the Lord. Samson had long hair... Judges 13-16. Blessings!

    I think women should wear dresses/skirts all the time and and not even cut their hair to me it symbolizes feminimity. For example if you see a man and woman standing side by side both with pants and t-shirt on and both of their hair chopped off and they are standing with their backs facing you. How would you tell them apart? You wouldnt be able to and if he wanted the women to dress and look like men, then why would he even create men and women. My opinion is mine just like everybody else has them and it might not mean much, but just sit and think about it. God bless.

    In the old testament God dealt with His people by giving them laws through a human vessel, but in the new testament the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, indwells us to teach us all things that pertain to Godliness and truth. Having this at the back of our hearts, I will say that every true child of God who is heavenly minded, having the spirit of God will not put on any thing that would make him/her become abominable before God.
    What is the purpose of dressing? One, to cover our nakedness, Two, To be decent and moderate and be presentable. 2Cor,5:17 , If any man be in Christ .........Rom.12:1-2, I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God........1John2:15-18,28.
    Why do you put on what you are wearing? To cause others to stumble? To entice men or women? To show off? For these reasons and much more alike do the unconverted souls dress but not the heaven bound saints waiting for the appearing of the King of kings and the Lord of lords who will judge the quick and the dead at his appearing. Make sure you are one of these elects of the Lord.

    My brethren, the totality of this gospel we preach is that we shall all comform to the image of his dear son jesus christ. Then, we made it.Going by the Deut 22:5 i will like us to think as christ like over certain issued like these.Truely speaking our God is great God and full of wisdom, he's keeping us quiet because we didnt want to take the matter back to him who is the founder of it from the biginning.From the above comment i saw alot of self interest in many people veiw but the truth is that God will not break his word to please man.That shall put on what pertaining to but sex,who God was refering to,what was the bone of contetion,did God specifically pin point us that this what belong to and this to the woman or did women and men went to hid under this scripture to do evil.what i know is that the physical feature of a woman and man are not thesame therefore their compulsore are not thesame.Law is physical that most be kept but trut and Grace are spiritual which without the power of the holy spirit we can not get it right.Now as we go to God with certain issued let therefore go to God withDeut 22:5 for more understanding that will heal the heart of millions christian.God bless us all.

    I agree that women should not wear men�s clothing and vice versa. But let�s keep in mind that throughout the textual context in first few books of the Old Testament, robes were the garments used by both, men and women. So the difference was most likely in the design and decoration. Likewise today, if I Christian women want to wear pants, it would be appropriate to wear pants designed specifically for women, keeping in mind modesty.

    All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed ( 2 Timothy 3:16 ).
    This means that all the books, chapters and verses, in the holy bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, is inspired by God. God is unchangeable and when he say yes nobody can say no or semi-yes and vice versa. So please don't be deceived by anybody (Mathew 24:4 ).

    God's Word does not change, however times do. At the time of writing, men and women were wearing dresses. What was the distinct difference between the two? Today men and women wear pants, however the pattern or design is suited for each sex. Therefore, interpretation of the scriptures has to be given through the Holy Spirit, because what is acceptable for me may not be acceptable for you. This is why we have to be careful not to stumble one another with our opinions. God is coming back for the heart of his people. He is just and gracious to overlook such ignorance.

    When a father writes a will, the will is enforced to the latter, meaning it is followed to the very end. If the whole bible is the perfect will of God, it should be followed to the very end! If this scripture Deut 22:5 keeps emerging and emerging, it really means that God is interested and won't drop it for any reason. He must have given personal and to be enforced revelations about holiness to Pastors and founders of churches who had this initially as their stand but now tell people its the heart that matters, by the way, in the final pages of his will he gives a warning to women also of adornment in 1st Timothy 2.9-10 and 1st Peter 3:3-4 which he won't change on any Ground! It's the fathers final wish, let's follow it to d latter and stop diluting scriptures with theology from the best seminaries and bible schools! Not one Jot from scriptures will pass away. Please let's not go to hell! Please

    Judge your self,men who wear women dreas and women who wear men dreas are you truly holy.think of it women if you appear before God with trouser did you think that God will see you holy.no matter the soul your win you will not pass through the gate of heaven because no unclean thing will enter there the kindom of God.be wise God remain thesame yesteday,today,and forever. Thesame to you men.

    Human being are found of justifying themselves on their error.The word of God says woman should not put on anything that pertain to man and man should not put on anything that pertain to woman but some people are acting again the will of God because their pastor allow it and because of western way of life but i think bible should be our standard can u put on opposite sex dress and go out for evangelism?

    We do live in the apostolic church age at this present time, the dispensation of grace as it is called. So lets take a look at who has apostolic authority. 1 Peter 1-13 this says that grace is given to whom Jesus reveals himself to, ... the will of God is holiness, be ye holy for I am holy. Now DOING the will of God is righteousness, Jesus christ the righteous. We are not, but Jesus is. So we are made righteous in him, so now we understand that grace is given to those that DO the will of God ... holiness for grace is not given in unrighteousness. (ie not diong Gods will)

    Deuteronomy 22:5 is ABSOLUTE: "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God". Anything PERTAINETH unto man, women shall not wear. Woman's GARMENT, men shall not put on. You can see right on the spot if the thing is made for a woman or for a man. So just follow God's commandment as it is.
