  • William Timberlake on Daniel 4 - 6 years ago
God took control of The Kings Life from the beginning by putting Daniel in His court. The Chaldeans were the smartest around in that day and spoke Armenian; later on, some of them were Christianized by the disciples and their followers, these believers are very persecuted even to this day.
The King put out a decree that the subjects of His Northern Kingdom would know the Mosiac law.
  • Ann on Daniel 4 - 6 years ago
We must remember that God is in control. The Lord is able and will bring us down, if we fell to recognize Him. He has is a mighty God!
  • Gloria on Daniel 4 - 6 years ago
Praise God, who releases understanding as he pleases, that king must have gone what we call today as mental illness. God decides what is good for us, God decides what to do with us to bring us closer to him, closer to each other and humble us together for His glory. To bring back the ultimate glory to Himself. The king Nebuchadnezzar is a perfect example, thank God who keeps us safe.

I looked up "Esdras" in Wikipedia, since I didn't want to spend the time actually reading in it; and what I read, I didn't like. It apparently has some so-called visions of Ezra, and him asking questions of God; which in my opinion don't match up to the kind of man of God Ezra really was. For example; how could he think that misery and punishment is unjust for a people who obstinately refuse God?
  • Irene123 on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
The books of Esdras; I wonder if that's what the witch of Endor used ....... ?
  • John on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
The Books of Esdras sheds more Light on this prophecy. Particularly 2 Esdras chapter 12 ...ΒΆ...Comfort me then, and shew me thy servant the interpretation and plain difference of this fearful vision, that thou mayest perfectly comfort my soul.
9 For thou hast judged me worthy to shew me the last times.
10 And he said unto me, This is the interpretation of the vision:
11 The eagle, whom thou sawest
  • Irene123 on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
The book of Dan. IS prophetic, as it tells of the future to and including Rev. Just as Eze. is prophetic. Both of these books tell of some of the same events as Rev., albeit in different wording.
  • Anne on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
We are reminded in this chapter that we should be careful to give thanks and praise to God for all things because it is only through God that we have accomplished and obtained everything that we have. God owns everything and He gives to whomsoever and when He pleases.
  • Joe on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
    THE BOOK OF DANIEL
This book takes its name not from the author, who is actually unknown, but from its hero, who was allegedly among the first Jews deported to Babylon, where he lived at least until 538 B.C. Strictly speaking, the book does not belong to the prophetic writings but rather to a distinctive type of literature known as apocalyptic, and of which it is an early specimen. Apocalyptic writing.
  • Tiny on Daniel 4 - 7 years ago
Be humble and Praise God all the time; before we are in real trouble. God told us in the Word not to trust man and I made the mistake of not only trusting man and letting him squander our family of our Blessing. I trust God to bring us out of this situation. I have prayed and humbled myself. I trust God and ask he hear my prayers. I pray for the ill and Unsaved Trust God watch him Bless All.

  • Ene A.Uloko on Daniel 4 - 8 years ago
Daniel chapter 4,is a testimony of king Nebuchadnezzar given by himself. His personal encounter with Jehovah God Almighty, after he disobeyed the warning from God through His servant Daniel. Its about out right disobedience to divine warnings or instructions. We still have men who care not about what God says concerning eternity, immoral living and pride. No man's status can limit God's hand.

  • Francisco Garcia on Daniel 4 - 8 years ago
God hates the proud and those who are full of pride will fall always man must always give glory to God if we prosper in this world we should always remember to give God the glory for HE is the one who gives us the ability to work and build and God is the one who gives each one of us are own unique talents so to GOD be the glory. We must learn to walk in humility. Like Jesus said " He who exalts himself shall be humbled and he who humbles himself shall be exalted. "
  • John on Daniel 4:17 - 8 years ago
the watchers are the Angels, while the Holy ones are the man of God like prophets, abraham, moses etc.
  • Kim on Daniel 4 - 8 years ago
This chapter is powerful in that it shows a puffed up person being brought down by his own words of what he thought he made or accomplished. God humbled him until he could see repentance and asking for God to forgive him correct the errs of his ways, only then was he restored. The moral of the chapter is never think of yourself more highly than you ought.
  • Lebogang Selala on Daniel 4 - 9 years ago
This chapter reminds us that Lord is God above all God, We must not mistreat children of God thinking that no one can rescue them . Also to acknowledge him in every situation whether good or bad .
  • Paul wanjoga on Daniel 4 - 9 years ago
This teaches us all about honouring God as well as giving Him all praise n glory. Some times God will let u go thru difficulties n hardiship coz u ave failed to give back to Him thanx, honour n glory. But once u recognise He is God of all gods n KING of all Kings He will restore u as He did to nebuchardnezar. God does not share His glory with anybody. Amen.
  • Makgale on Daniel 4 - 9 years ago
This chapter teaches us to remember God and praise him for each and every achievement in our lives. It also shows us that the God we serve is the God of the second chance for those who diligently seek him and humble themselves before his throne. His punishment was too severe in Nebuchadnezzar 's life, but his mercy, grace and love to this fallen king increased when he asked for forgiveness and glorified Him. God is love, slow to anger and deep in love.
  • Insight 777 on Daniel 4 - 9 years ago
Notice that Daniel is called Belteshazzar. This is not his real name, not how he should be recognized. He is called according to the terms of a false God. He is not viewed in truth but falsely as they think he is, not as he really is. He is only viewed as a man that works magic, that is intelligent and foretells the future. He refuses to recognize Daniels belief in ONE God by saying he has the spirit of the holy gods. Verse 32 talks about how the 7 year tribulation will come with WW3. Nebuchadnezzar will be hated, driven from men. His dwelling will be with the beasts of the field is symbolic meaning he will be invaded by men, beasts, armed with weapons of war. When a soldier is shot down his mouth is in the grass like oxen.
  • Remon on Daniel 4 - 10 years ago
I think we are human being we do mistakes but we should be like children, because when a child once burnt with fire, he/she will never play with that very thing again.
Here once you understand and do God's way, your GLORY will be restored.Be blessed.
  • Joy on Daniel 4 - 10 years ago
The most High rules in the kingdom of men! God will always have the last say. Amen
  • Toni on Daniel 4 - 10 years ago
The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? Whenever man receives power and honor and riches, he forgets God is the one who has allowed him to have these things. People forget who is their health and strength. Instead of Nebuchadnezzar giving God the praise and glory for all that he had, he boasted in himself. Is this not what we do today? Instead of giving God all the praise and honor, we try to say what we've done. Without God,we can do nothing. Nebuchadnezzar quickly learned that God is all and in all. He formed us from the dust of the earth. Take up dust from the earth into your hands and **** on it - it disappears like it never existed. That is what man is - nothing. Yet, people want to boast in what they have and what all they have accomplished. But just as Nebuchadnezzar learned in a lowly and degrading way, God will bring down the lofty look of men. But what I did like about Nebuchadnezzar is once God humbled him, he then gave God all the glory and honor.
  • BESHI AUSTIN on Daniel 4:19 - 11 years ago
DANIEL WAS FEELING SORRY FOR THE KING
  • Deb on Daniel 4 - 11 years ago
I think God was showing the King who is boss, Lord of Lords, King of Kings and to submit and surrender all to him, or be like Job and lose everything so in other words; just to seek first the kingdom of God and all else would be added unto him. For an example to all men.
  • Jeanette Campbell /Warner on Daniel 4:16 - 11 years ago
To change a heart you must know it, and the word asks us who can know this wicked and perverse miracle that God has given us? Jeremiah 17:9. Only God can know our hearts because He created us in His own image, and not only that, He is the Holy and awesome one that changes what He wishes, whatever He desires He is God; maker of heaven and earth.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Daniel 4 - 11 years ago
Governments today must accept, just as Nebuchadnezzar learned, that the most High God rules in the affairs of men, and gives it to whom so ever He will. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Those who walk in pride, God will abase. The poor must be provided for by governments, and righteous judgments must be rendered to all. Pay taxes to whom taxes are due, and give honor to whom honor is due. Daniel was used by God to give the interpretation of the King's dream to him, because God reveals secrets to His servants. God has placed watchmen, as preachers, to warn those in government that they are accountable to the most High God. It is God who removes them from power, and restores them as it pleases Him. Give praise to God, and live a righteous life.
  • JOHN I COWEN on Daniel 4 - 11 years ago
what would god do to our government today to be a priority in their job?
  • Timothy Wayne George on Daniel 4 - 11 years ago
Nebuchadnezzar, the king, had a dream, and only Daniel is able to interpret the dream. So God used Daniel to give the rebuke to the king because of his pride. God gave the king 12 months to repent as Daniel told him to cut off his sins by works of righteousness, and showing mercy to the poor. Well he failed to repent at that time. So his kingdom was taken from him, and he became as a beast growing hair while eating grass like an ox. After seven years the king's thoughts returned to his head, and he realized that the Most high God rules in the affairs of men. God gives the kingdom of men to the bases of men. Once the king understood this principle he repented of the sin of pride, and praised the Most high God. As fathers we are to remember that Jesus is the head of the family, and we must submit to his rule in our lives. We must love our wives as Christ loves the church, and never walk in pride. We are told to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, and in due time he will exalt us. May all the fathers out there have a happy fathers day. Thank God for your family, as they are a gift from the Most high God.
