    Mark 3:28-30

    King James Version

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

We see some blasphemy shall be forgiven but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven. The difference between blasphemy that shall be forgiven and blasphemy that shall not be forgiven is in the measure of light the blasphemer has been exposed to by the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy from a state of ignorance shall be forgiven but willful blasphemy against the Light revealed to the sinner by the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven. The fact that this serious unpardonable sin cannot be committed in ignorance is revealed in John 15

22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

The Pharisees who blasphemed Jesus and said he was of the devil knew they were lying and we know that because Nicodemus told the Lord they knew He was of God.

    John 3

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is to reject the gift of the gospel and die in your sins to put it in simplified terms.
