God divided humans into different nations at the tower of Babel by dividing their tongues and scattering them into different parts of the earth. Traits such as skin color and appearance were affected by breeding and the environment. Solomon loved the Shulamite who suggested in 1:6 that her black skin was due to the sun looking upon her. Darker skin, therefore, may have been a trait that became hereditary among people who spent a lot of time under direct sunlight in certain parts of the world.

    Genesis 1:26-28,

    Genesis 6:17-22,

Jesus says we are much more value than the sparrow, Matthew 10:31, Luke 12:7, it appears the races were preserved by these, of Noah, his lineage, his wife, her lineage, the lineage of Noah's 3 sons, their 3 wives, each with their lineage.

    Genesis 9:1,7,18,

    Hopefully these are helpful

It seems likely that other races were created at the Tower of Babel. Link

Because race (1) goes along with language (2), and geographic placement (3), and because these elements are so intertwined in culture, and because the Bible already said God did 2 of those 3, I believe the other occurred at this time, but just wasn't stated. Gen 11:9.

This is a pretty huge miracle only shared in a few verses, so I don't think its implausible to believe that God made their appearance distinctive too along with their language and geographic placement, for example, Indians in India who speak an Indian dialect, or Chinese in China who speak Chinese, Spanish in Spain who speak Spanish, etc.

In keeping with the origin of man with Adam; obviously all the genetic traits found in man and the potential for different races was in his DNA. It is clear scientifically that there is NO real difference in those with different skin colors. It would appear that as Noah's progeny migrated; it was the geographical locale that would characterize not only skin color; but the muscular strength; facial structure; and other developments suitable for the climates where they lived.

An important factor would be the rapid adaptation for what the scientists would refer to as the "Ice Age". For those believing in the flood; and from evidence of instantaneously frozen wooly mammoths and such clearly the flood caused the masses of snow and ice in the Arctic and beyond at that time. When men went there they had to have their bodies adapt to extreme cold; and probably a diet with much more meat and high calorie intake. They would tend then to be bigger and stronger than those who would say end up in a more tropical environment.

This isn't a "die hard" conclusion as to traits found; for instance apparently in Northern Italy people have darker skin than southern Italy. There is some controversy as to whether Indians in our continent have Asian or perhaps European ancestors.

The LANGUAGES are also intertwined in the cultures and races of man; since Babylon we have basically pictoral symbols and what we call letters as written communication. It appears from certain symbols there is an origin; as for instance the Chinese seems to have symbols representing the God of the Bible; the flood; etc. It appears that the confusion in the Bible is true as it is strange how diverse languages are; even among different Indian nations; for example. There are Slavs and Czecks who apparently have very different languages geographically near each other.

We have to keep in mind intermarriages as to how demographics today may be different than the past as well.

I think the devil deceived people into thinking there were different races, but in actuality, we are all just GOD's children. I think the devil knew if he divided groups of people, it would have lasting effects which we still see today. Doing this made it tough for everyone to love everyone because people now see others by their "race".
