As for the killing of witches. Have you ever encountered one? Has one ever been truthful with you and disclosed what they really do? If you were told the truth, you would find that witches cover bad deeds with foolish spells. A witches deeds can be anything from, breaking in and putting"potions" in your food to sprinkling anthrax in your undergarments.

If a scientist would break down those drops he would find a myriad of poisons. This is just one example of a witch. The Lord refers to it as of the sin of rebellion. The sin of witchcraft is as of the sin of rebellion. That sin of rebellion in the above example would be: That witch that walked through your door did not regard the law as pertaining to them, with that vile of poison, when committed over a long period of time, can kill you. A long and slow death. Of which they watch as ritual, a person dying directly of that deed. Did they know there is a law that regards unlawful illegal entry as breaking and entering, now with poison, is an intent to kill? And how many times was that act committed against an unwitting person? And the higher a witch gets into politics, the more above the law the more the deed is covered by other members of the community, law enforcement, etc. It becomes an object of fascination, which leads to more acts of the same kind, against more unwitting participants.

If you found that your heart attacks were not natural events, but as an act of poisoning what would be your reactions. Or that cancer, leukemia, stroke, lung diseases, crippling "arthritis" because that witch had their way with you. The Lord protects. But witchcraft is of the sin of rebellion. Meaning, defiance. Many have defied the Lord. So, to rephrase it, witchcraft is defiance of all laws, Gods, Mans, and against the unspoken bonds of trust. A child, a family pet, your Mother, Son, etc. Now, if you were watching a loved one dying a torturous death, knowing, would you want to kill? God gives permission.

God created great whales (Hebrew: tannyn). The "tanniyn" swallow as illustrated in Jer 51:34 where it shows the king of Babylon swallowing like a dragon (tanniyn).

Jeremiah 51:34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.

But in the case of Genesis 1:21,it speaks of the "swallowing up of death" by life which becomes a source of the praise of God by His people among the nations of this world. The "saying"the praise of Godcomes to pass: "death is swallowed up in victory".

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Death is swallowed up of life.

2 Corinthians 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

In Isaiah ch 25,it opens with the praise of God.

Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

And tells us that He will swallow up death in victory and we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

Isaiah 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.(8) He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.(9) And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

I was raised in the RC tradition, and taught that the 4th Commandment is "Honor thy father and thy mother." Why, in this Bible trivia, is the 4th Commandment "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy?" In the RC tradition, that is the 3rd Commandment. I compared this chapter of the King James version, with the Douay Rheims version, and, both versions seem to state the 4th Commandment as I was taught. I am confused. Please clarify this for me. I was taught the Commandments as follows:

    1. I am the LORD thy God, thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

    2. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD, thy God in vain.

    3. Remember thou keep holy the sabbath day.

    4. Honor thy father and thy mother.

    5. Thou shalt not kill.

    6. Thou shalt not steel.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8. Thou shalt not bear false witness of thy neighbor.

    9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods.

verse 20, the way it is described in the commentary says God condemns us if our heart does, I always thought that is meant, the opposite. I have a hard time forgiving myself for backsliding for so long staying away from our Lord and sinning for years knowing it was wrong as i did it but i have since repented and turn completely away from my former live but still struggle with the past. I though this scripture meant that even though my heart condemns me God is greater than my heart and knows all things and knows i've repented and has forgiven me. Self -condemnation is a horrible way to live no joy, no peace but i used to take comfort in that scripture knowing that God had not condemned me even tho my heart does. I've not found a timetable for how long a backslider has before he has no chance to come back, and if I am an apostate why am I under such conviction? I'm in that place where I cannot move stuck in the most miserable of places, am i not accepting forgiveness or can i not get it anymore?

    Genesis 1:17 KJV

    (17) And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

God sets His 2 greatest commandments in the firmament of Heaven.in our opened, expanded hearing (HEAR, O Israel..) of the Spirit that comes from there. We are to do what He has set/established in the kingdom of God so that others see His Light shine in the darkness of this earth.

    Mark 12:28-31 KJV

    (28) And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

    (29) And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

    (30) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

    (31) And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Thou are not far from the kingdom of God...

    Mark 12:34 KJV

    (34) And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

When we do His commandments, we shall shine as the stars giving His Light upon this dark earth.

    Daniel 12:3 KJV

    (3) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

The nations shall come to His light/glory that they see arising upon us...

    Isaiah 60:1-3 KJV

    (1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

    (2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

    (3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

The church is not a building. The church is the people in the building. Jesus said, where 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, there I am also.
  • DJ To Charles Jordan concerning Samson on 1 Kings 11 - 3 years ago
    Charles Jordan,

You are correct! Satan will knows and exploits our weakness.

However, Samson was not beguiled (as Eve was) and led astray by the Devil, because:"his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he (Samson) sought an occasion against the Philistines?" ( Judges 14:4)

The Bible reveals that (certain parts of) the life of Samson was guided by the LORD.

Samson only took one wife ( Judges 14:3); not many.

Keep praying; keep studying my friend

    I have so many questions.

I grew up in church. Have read the Bible(not the whole Bible, yet.) I have read and listened to Joyce, Stanley and countless others. Attended Methodist, Protestant and "New Age" Evangelical services. Have been through forums. Have listened to many, opinions or versions of faith. Read books. I find MANY things to be confusing. I have faith in God,(nurturing and fostering growth)Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I was in a bad accident in which I had an experience very similar to the boy in the movie "Heaven Is Real." Have not spoken to but a few people about it. I believe 100% God is real and amazing. I am trying to pray better and more often, to remove sin(as much as possible), to find a church where I feel comfortable, etc.

Some of my questions are in regards to being saved and going to heaven.

-Some say simply BELIEVE in Jesus and you will be saved. The Bible specifically says very few will enter even for the believers who cry out "Lord, Lord" to him. Due to their sin he will say I never knew you. Some say you must be baptized to be saved. Some say in water some say by the Holy Spirit..through the love and grace of God only. Some say we will ALL be saved and enter Heaven because God is loving and forgiving. Personally, I believe we will be forgiven but still must suffer the consequences. I can keep going for quite some time here but hopefully you understand the matter of my questions here. I would also like to add that many who are "saved"(baptism) continue to be Sunday Christians and nothing more. Some say since saved they will go to heaven. Some say since saved but still sin will go to hell. This area of topic I find very confusing.

I have many more questions but for now I would like to start here!

Please forgive my ignorance as, again, I have not read or understood the entire Bible. Many versions of faith, many different groups. If your advice is to raise these questions to God please understand my "phone connection" isn't strong.GodBless

God preordained his son ,Jesus Christ disciples. The first Adam couldn't stop lying, when God ask him why was he and eve hiding, and Adam told God that they was ashamed because they were naked. God ask him who told you that you were naked?Adam reply was its that woman you gave me. When it was him God left in charge. We are all filthy lairs, Jesus fought suffered and died, so that we might have a chance at the tree of life. Jesus the second Adam that came from 42 generations to save Jews and gentiles if they were to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior; let's all be very careful in accepting the word of God as the truth and nothing else but the truth. In reference to Matthew 4
