Chapter 1 is an awesome preaching or teaching for the condition of the church today. Why? the church has been taught that Christianity is all about me. My self help, my feelings, my happiness, my fulfillment, and my validation. To answer the question about what was the law's purpose, it was to make sin exceedenly sinful in other words no matter how you feel or what you think, these things are sin, end of story. This was the problem in Israel and is the problem in the church.
The first thing God accuses them of is not considering. Give thought that you might be wrong and God and His word might be right.
He then accuses them of the lack of soundness. There thought processes were irrational. He then gives them the opportunity to reason or be logical and if they would they would repent and there sins would be changed white as snow because He had been a good God to them.

Concerning faith, The Devil took Jesus to the pinnicle of the temple and said He should cast Himself off and the Bible says the angels will bear Him up lest he dashes his foot against a stone. Jesus replied, "it is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God".

I am reading some very disturbing things lately. They are regarding the Catholic church. I was born and raised a Catholic. I pray to God daily, I thank the Lord daily for my many blessings that have been given to me. I talk to God daily, asking for guidance, forgiveness and protection upon my family, friends and this world.
But upon reading some of the things that have been floating out and around, stating that Catholics are a false church, anti-christ etc. It has me rather unsettled to read such things. My mother came from a devout Catholic home. How could something so beautiful, a devout relationship with the Lord, God be painted in such a horrible way?
In Hebrews, Paul speaks to his own. These days, where our world is in danger of imploding on itself for pestilence and racial warfare, corruption of our government, in part facilitated by right wing Christians and their weeping for donation preachers. To whom shall we turn for truth, for our daily bread? I find that there is noone. Of course, all on this site say it's Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. That does me no good. Born again is any empty cliche! But I do read the bible religously and am comforted by God, El Shaddai, my creator who sits in Zion and is a God of Gods. His Son's are those who obey the Pact, which He spoke to Moses in the dessert. He is both Creator and Destroyer. He requires obedience un questioned and rewards accordingly.

Also, Easter is a pagan holiday and named after Ishtar, a goddess, including some other pagan goddess that I've read, are new to me since years ago when I did research. Think about it, my sister. What does God have to do with Easter eggs and a bunny rabbit? in pagan worship, the egg stands for the goddess of fertility, and the rabbit, well I don't recall. Can you imagine the eftpos charges by the banking system if there was no cash?..We would become slaves to a new world order. Resistance is not futile and a Godly choice for all who are wise and choose freedom.

In the time before Noah the sons of God began to intermarry with women of ungodly men , this was the beginning of the end for that world . Unequal yoke produced destructive offspring. And the rest was history as we know what happened .
The sons of God where Gods people , not demons or angels as some think . They are sexless and not able to produce offspring with men .
In Genesis men began to call on the Lord , these where Gods people , they walked with God , how about Enoch ? I'm stopping here , getting long .
