I have a question concerning musical instruments in our worship today.. I have read and study one view on this and it is something that I have never studied before and had never even heard in all of my church going years. There are those who believe that instrumental music is not authorized for the New Testament worship of God today. I have read all the scriptures supporting this but it has come from one source. What is your commentary on this subject and do you have scripture to validate your stand? I have read the new Testament and have not found the use of musical instruments mention when the disciples gathered to worship. How did it come to be acceptable in our worship services if it was not authorized by God for his worship to him according to the gospel of Jesus? I would just like to hear another view on this subject but know that we are worship God in spirit and in truth. We are to do the will of God, and not what is pleasing to us. When we gather together for worship we are to worship according to His purpose and by his authority, according to the New Testament. The Israelites were commanded to worship with music in the Old Testament, but no mention of instruments were mentioned in the new Testament.

  • Andrew Tang on Psalms 81 - 3 years ago
Psalm 81:10 "I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it."

Dear Sir As for this verse my Pastor interpret as 'When we pray and worship, we must take off mask, our mouth and face must never be covered before God...it's our mouth that will open before Him and He will fill it.

Was he right? I find it is a bit distorted here. Please help. Thank you and God bless.

What is the Holy Spirit or did this come about?
  • Stephende on Hebrews 11 - 3 years ago
The "faith" chapter, Paul here is trying to define the indefinable. Is faith simply believing or something more tangible? Faith screeches past belief, as faith is more. It is a bet that the words written in the Bible are explicitly true, past debating. It is one's experience that God, for certain, is a rewarder, and His reward is with Him! In the garden, Jesus' night was full of angst, demonstrating his human side, but he proceded with his teaching mission. Moses endured twice 40 days and nights in supplication to El Shaddai, on behalf of the people who resorted to idolatry. The commandments were necessitated and were put into the Arc. There is no faith without obedience to God!!!
  • Juliana JooSabba on Wisdom of Solomon 11:1 - 3 years ago
The words in this passage in the wisdom of Solomon are ointments to all souls that seek God with all their might. They are very powerful for the healings of every soul. They are very encouraging and cast away all doubts about the power of the Almighty Lord. The words lead people to know Jesus Christ in the verse that make reference to the water from the flinty rock which point to Him in 1st Corinthians 10.4. Who on this planet earth can take away this powerful scripture from the bible? I leave that to God.

Is it idolatry to have a wooden cross hanging on your rear view mirror?
  • Betty Miller on Deuteronomy 30:19 - 3 years ago
( 19) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

    (20) That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

    -------------------------------

Verses 19 & 20 goes hand and in hand which means, If we choose to live in sin ( having sex before marriage, marry a woman or man who has already been married, lusting for someone or thing, lies, deceitful, murderers, worship idols such as necklace crosses, portraits, lust

gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, pride ) we will soon be under God's wrath. When things starts happening to us that's not so pleasant; we need to think about the the life style that we live and how we are by others. If you can't love everyone here on earth, God is not letting you go to heaven because God is not letting that type of spirit come there. Why do do think that the devil spirit roams about this earth and beneath the sea? He was kicked out of heaven thinking he can over take God throne. The devil fail to understand that God knows him inside and out; just as he knows us. God said that He wants only holy ones in heaven not a people that loves one and hate the other. We must be kind and have a heart to give to the poor. God said the poor will be with us always; this means that there will always be a chance for you to walk up to someone to offer them help of some kinds such as buy them food, offer to buy them clothes, offer to give them a job, offer them to come to your home to eat at your table, or offer them a gift card to help with their necessities . There is a book of life on everyone of us, so please , to all of you, Be mindful to what you say. God made All. We are All One!

    Luke 21 v 7 , 8

And they asked him , saying , Master , but when shall these things be ? And what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass ?

And He said Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name , saying I AM Christ ; and the time draweth near : go ye not therefore after them .

    John 11 v 24 , 25 , 26 ,27

She saith unto him , Yea Lord I believe that thou art the Christ , the Son of God which should come into the world .

Jesus tells us that we are asleep, when we die. he will come and resurrect us. So , why do people believe that their loved ones are in heaven, when they are asleep? You cant be in Heaven ,if he is coming to resurrect us..
  • Julie on 1 John 1 - 3 years ago
1 John 1 establishes Jesus as God. Thou which was from the beginning... In the beginning was the word. Gen 1.1 Christ is the word in the flesh who gives eternal life to all who believe in Him. Emmanuel, God with us. The disciples asked to see God, and Jesus replied "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? "

Why do so many believe He is not God when it is written in His word? How can one expect admittance to heaven that do not believe Jesus is God and call themselves a Christian?

It is written in Matthew "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Confess Jesus as God. If His word is not in us the saving message of Christ has not taken root. Read your Bible and understand.

The Son, the second person in the Trinity, has a l w a y s e x i s t e d with the Father. God sent the light of the world, Jesus. We are called to walk with God in the light (for only he is without sin and we will never be on par with Him) our purpose includes us to confess our sins and follow the commandments.

Pray to Jesus to forgive both sins you know you did and those you're not sure you did-that would cover your dreams or half second wrong thoughts. Work toward being the love of God perfected by keeping His commandments.

Understand now what His love for you is, love and forgive one another as you would want Him to do for you.

    Reasons why OT matters

    History of God's chosen people

    Apostacy of the Church

    Not to be legalistic

    Forgiveness and generosity taught

God wants to be involved in our lives

    Different types of prayer

    Teaches us how to worship

Man's desire to be stiff necked and rebellious

Prophecy some for the latter days; some of a better covenant

    Fortells the coming of Christ

    Why the Messiah was rejected

    Reasons for the New Testament

    In the Messiah's words

The Comforter or Holy Ghost explained

A better covenant (a direct link to God; Jesus as the intersessor, HG as the teacher and guide, the Word written upon mankinds heart)

    Grace

Freely given, paid for, open to all who ask and seek

    Warnings

Notes: the New Testament wasn't written or formulated until 60 years after Christ's death, resurrection and ascension but people claim the Old Testament is irrelevant (i.e. "Nailed to the Cross").

The Bible was not canonized until 1611.

Before that some prophecies were still being fulfilled (i.e. destruction of Tyre). Many prophecies still are future. (i.e. restoration of Israel and 2nd Coming).

We are no longer in the dark ages. The Bible is more available to all than it has ever been. The internet connects the world like never before. False prophets and doctrines occur at a ridiculous pace (i.e. Another prophecy from both Testaments).

Yet mankind still persists, our way is better than God's.

Read it for yourself. Use the resources mentioned above. Don't trust anyone's interpretation but the HG's. Devotionals or doctrines that treat the Bible like a bag of trail mix seem wrong (i.e. Isn't that how this started? Hasn't it continued ever since?). From Genesis to Revelations.

Grace, not legalism. The Lord wants a relationship with all and all to be reborn. His offer of salvation is open to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

May your journey be fruitful, full of joy, and may you be counted worthy of the Creator's kingdom.

    Blessings and Prayers

Hello! I have a reoccurring question, do we repent of our sins to be saved or repent because we are saved? I know in the book of Corinthians Paul talks about how the adulterous, fornicators, etc will not inherit the kingdom, thank you and God bless!

    what is gospel
  • Andy G van den Berg on Colossians 3 - 3 years ago
    Attn: Mike on Baptism

The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and is not of any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20).

The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of god: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned ( Cor. 2:14).

You cannot just change the word 'born' to 'baptize'. The word of God is not of any private interpretation. The water is the living water (Christ) and unless a person is born of the water and the Spirit , he cannot enter into the kingdom of God ( John 3:5; Isaiah 44:3,4; Matthew 3:11; Titus 3:5).

We invite you to study what it means to repent ( Acts 26:18) and the baptism of repentance ( Mark 1:4; Luke 3:3; Acts 13:24; 19:4), as it means a lot more than what by nature you have been conditioned to believe.

Water baptism and circumcision was an act of faith but could not save people. Then the next question should be asked: Faith in what?

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

  • Journey Rocks Ministry on Psalms 82 - 3 years ago
I've sat here and read just about everyone comment concerning 82. 1st May I ask of how many of you just up a casted down any thought of there being other gods? How many of you truly went to our Father himself and asked for interpretation of this and waited for the Lord to give it to you? Lastly have most of you studied out some of the more convincing arguments conflicting of yours? I have to say I have many years in this area and I'm going to leave all of you with this. Ask and you shall be giving seek and you shall find knock band it will be opened into you. As much as all of you want to be right can you accept the answer he may give you if you are wrong? That seems to be the appropriate question.. if you already have the answer made up yourself it's pointless to ask. The holy spirit is a gentleman he won't force himself on you. Unfortunately only a 3rd of you will even understand what I'm saying. The "I know I'm rights, no need to ask" well I pray for the blinders to be removed before it's to late.
  • Laurin on Proverbs 11:26 - 3 years ago
In Job 9:9, Job is referencing three celestial objects and alluding to the Power of GOD!

The three objects mentioned are all positioned and viewable in the Northern Hemisphere! Here, Job is saying, GOD is so Powerful he could move them to the Southern Hemisphere if he so wished, so how could Man(Job) possibly contend with God or his Power?

Job is so frustrated with trying to find out why he has been singled out for all his 'curses'(which were invoked by Satan), he is overwhelmed with the thought of contending with GODs Power to try to help himself! In essence he is answering back to Bilbads comments in the previous Chapter.
