It has always fascinated me, since coming to the age of reasoning, that there's even a hint of the possibility of Christ's parentage, ".....at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph....verse 23 of Luke chapter three. Why would the Almighty allow that and for what reason? Please respond. Thank you in advance.

I'm puzzled by the following passages.

    Genesis 1:26

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

To whom is God referring when he says "us?" Is God a singular entity? If so, then why the plural form? And who is this "them?" Men? Then why not say "men" instead of "man?"

    Genesis 1:27

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

If God is a singular entity, then how could both men and women be "in his own image?" Is God a hermaphrodite?

A great FAMINE of food worldwide will exist during the Great Tribulation. The normal food producing cycle of planting, cultivation and harvesting will be totally disrupted because of worldwide wars and fighting. And yet the Word of God says, "Hurt not the oil and the wine.". What does this mean? There are two possible interpretations: (1. the oil and the wine represent the wealth and provisions of the RICH during the Tribulation who will provide for themselves from the dwindling resources of the earth in the Tribulation, or, it represents (2. God's provision of the OIL and WINE of His Holy Spirit to those who call out to Him for MERCY in the midst of the HELL and persecution unfolding all around them during the terrible persecution of the Tribulation. Remember Jesus's parable of the Good Samaritan? What did the Good Samaritan pour into the wounds of the man he found dying on the Jericho Road? OIL and WINE. I believe #2 is the correct interpretation of this passage in Revelation 6.

  • Mild Bill on Psalms 11 - 3 years ago
Jessie, "Satan will be bound up in the bottomless pit for the entire 1,000 years and no longer have any influence on the lives of people." Not quite so. Though Satan is bound, people are born sinners, as children of Adam. Sin had it's beginning with Satan. Man never returns to an innocent condition, and we know how leaven works. "The devil made me do it", has been a laughable punch line, but it hearkens back to the seriousness of the fall of man in Eden. Born dead in trespasses and sin, is the condition of all people born in the flesh. "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" = Nothing. But for the grace of God, all people go to hell.

The Earthly kingdom of God, is what God intended for Israel, who instead wanted a man king, like the nations around them.

Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. When you pray, forgive. Have faith in God. You can speak to the mountain and tell it to move. Don't doubt in your heart, but believe that those things you ask for will come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith ( Mark 11:23-26). God's word is filled with great and precious promises.
