i dont get it.... can you explain ?....
  • Doubting Thomas on Luke 2
Steve's comment says "if the Bible says that something happened then it happened". Then why do the accounts of "Luke" and "Matthew" differ? This testimony is all hearsay and the gospel writers (who are NOT eyewitnesses) can't keep their stories straight! There is NO proof that Nazareth was even a town in the 1st century CE. Jesus being born in Bethlehem in fulfillment of the scriptures is not prophesying! I could go on and on. People, demand better evidence before committing yourself to a untenable belief. As was said by Mark Twain ďfaith is believing in something that just ainít soĒ.
  • Jacques on Matthew 28
Let us look again at what Jesus says.

Verse 18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus says, "ALL POWER is given unto ME in heaven and in earth. In verse 19 He says "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME" . *Not names* ..

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a CHILD is born, unto us a SON is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The MIGHTY GOD, The EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.

    Jesus says in Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the ALMIGHTY.

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the FIRST, and I am the LAST; AND BESIDE ME THERE IS NO GOD.

    Jesus says in Revelation 1:11

Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the FIRST and the LAST:

    1 Timothy 3:16
3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Jesus says in Luke 24:47 And that REPENTANCE and REMISSION OF SINS should be preached in HIS NAME AMONG ALL NATIONS, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

49 And, behold, I SEND THE PROMISE OF MY FATHER UPON YOU: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

As we go into the book of Acts we find almost immediately the promise being fulfilled. And let me clear this scripture up.

Ephesians 4:5 ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism,

6 ONE God and Father of ALL,

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is PREFERRED BEFORE ME: for HE WAS BEFORE ME.

    Now back to Acts 1:5

Jesus says in Vs. 5 : For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost NOT MANY DAYS HENCE.

Acts 2:1 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Read the rest of chapter 2 and how men mocked and said " these men are full of new whine" but Peter stood up with the eleven.

Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

After you read through to vs 37 says the men were pricked in there hearts and asked what shall they do?!

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Peter tells them what Jesus told him to preach unto ALL nations.

Luke 24:47 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in HIS NAME among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of JESUS Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
  • Bobby on Mark 3
I hear and understand what being said. But what gets my is why did they change the names in the Bible? ACTS chapter 4 verse 12 neither is there a name giving under Heaven among men whereby we must be save. that name can't be jesus! i've read and researched Maryam was her name not mary.she was a hebrew. we must ask ourselves why would the malak come down and give her a latin or greek name for her child? and we also no the letter J wasn't in the alphet and if they called him Joshua in the old why not call him Joshua in the new? what do we get when we call upon jesus and we do most christain worship him? be it anyone can show unto me in the text where he said to worship him or to call him god. why do we think the Father is the son when he said I come in my Father's name YHWH i've ask a many i which i believe i know the answers just want to hear what other's have to say.
  • HARRY ALLISON on Proverbs 24
COLORADO TRAGEDY.....DID anybody love this man with the guns .DID he get attention ,unlike what he is getting now?I know a couple people i was almost ready to give up on,...i dont think i will now .JESUS is loving me through my dysfunction....
  • Mike on 3 John 1:2
I think this is John's greeting. Isn't suffering how our soal grows and is sculpted. If we are unhealthy, are we unworthy, or lack in faith? Can anyone translate this as God promising all of us that we will not be subject to health and financial trials if our faith is great. Faith is strong but we still need perseverance through trials so we are not lacking anything, right?
  • WILLINE WOOTERS on Jeremiah 2
  • HARRY ALLISON on 2 Timothy 4
PAUL tells it like it is ..EVEN though he was abandoned by many ,he stayed the course.he even warned others of dangers ahead, awesome.DO WE DO THAT ENOUGH TODAY.DO I RISK REJECTION BY TELLING SOMEONE OF AN OBSTACLE IN THERE SURROUNDINGS?.PAUL has "INTEGRITY".
  • Ronald on Philemon 1
Who is my master?who is my brother?.I am profitable for nothing unless I have the good master molding and making his clay as he wishes and must make the choice to follow him.
  • Wayne Denning on Matthew 24:13
This is a wake up call! I am very disappointed that "Christians" have tucked their salvation experience in their pocket and gone off to become one of the guys in the world. When Christ promised eternal life he used verbs that were assuming the believer would stay on the path (you know, the straight and narrow one.)

If you buy a car and throw away the manual, not following the manufacturer's stipulations, you void your warraanty. How much more true is it in the case of our redeemer? I am speaking of the persons who really had a true conversion experience, were sorry for their sins and really meant it when they said they would follow Christ. However, following the conversion, we are still allowed access to the steering wheel. It's called free moral agency. Unfortunately, many with the real thing look left and right and like what they see in this world. We are instructed to be in the world and not of the world. That's not hard to understand. Is it?

Right now, so many believers have dropped their guard and this includes ministers and are in real danger of missing the reward they were once sure of and of course hell is the "default." Narrow is the way - and few there be that find it. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.
  • J S on Genesis 1:1
Traditional science did not accept the idea of no beginning and no end, since this universe has cycles, and since is based on observable/measurable observations, etc.. If God is transcendental of this universe (or any other we may or may not be aware of) then God has no beginning or end. When considering the infinite, in all aspects (whether it be of this universe, multi-verses, other dimensions, etc.) one could say God is the existence of all and none since these terms are used to describe physical things, God cannot be defined as such.

Our comprehension is too limited to even consider we understand (what we define as) 'God', and to say otherwise is like asking a caveman what and how a computer works (as an analogy of understanding). Even sci-fi of today has a concept of 'advanced beings' visiting less advanced beings, and to a cave man, could be considered 'Gods', however this is a limited view that has its origins of what God may be. Ultimate awareness, consciousness, infinite in all aspects perhaps. How can God be classed as a single identity? Its a rhetorical question that needs no answer, but leading to a limited conception of a fundamental aspect that we cannot possibly comprehend. Thus faith is born. Faith could be considered a belief in something we cannot possibly understand or comprehend. Science seeks to understand the universe through detectable/replicated fact, and as such is a never ending search for knowledge. If God is infinite in all aspects, not just knowledge, then one could say that science is an attempt to understand God with a never-ending search of infinite truth by using a finite knowledge system.
  • Lorral W. on Amos 2
Amos 2 makes me wonder, how long will the LORD wait before He really judges America? I don't long for this day, but surely we are no better than Israel.
  • Payton on Matthew 1
I am only 19 but I am a called minster of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am young and don't have all the knowledge of the Bible but God has shared with me many concerns of the church. We live in a day and time where man has tried to take the place of God and answer certain questions or rasie certain questions. We are finite beings and God is infinite, omnipotent, and omniscient. When you begin to realize Isaiah 55:8-9. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,Ē
    declares the Lord.
9 ďAs the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts" then you will see we can't answer everything and only God can. Stop trying to take the place of God and allow His mysteries to be revealed in due time. Another thing we have begun to take the emphasis off of Christ by arguing about His name. WHY??? Jesus, Yeshua or whatever else is NOT important. Not everyone called Jesus by that name. He was known as Son of David, Good Master and Teacher, Son of Man, Son of David, etc. Whatever you call Him shouldn't be whats important, its the fact on whether you are calling on Him or not. God Bless

  • Jaida on Genesis 9:24
    Gen 9:22
HAM the FATHER of cannan saw his fathers nakedness and told his brothers outside.

It was clearly Ham who did something wrong here, otherwise wouldn't it have said what Cannan did so wrong to have his decedants cursed?
  • Darby T. Fitzcarron on Genesis 17
Circumcison of the heart? There is no argument to that. The language does not lend to that idea, nor does the idea itself lend to meaning anything metaphoric or figurative. If this isn't one of those "literal" passages, then I am not sure if anyone has the authority, judgment or intellect to interpret anything that they read.
  • Asefa on John 1:51
John 1: 45-51, This is the wonderful word of GOD, the first special class for special students like Philip and Nathanael, from the teaching both are learnt a lot. Philip was live and served GOD always under OPEN HEAVEN, The special class students should always serve and live under open heaven, are you special student or ordinary one to GOD? The choice is yours, Live and serve like special ones the other do not suit you.

  • HARRY ALLISON on Psalms 107
I believe that mans personality ,sinful nature, and self-preservation attitude has not changed much if any over the centuries.i have a tendency to get BLESSED by JESUS ,lose my gratitude ,and go my own way too..JESUS still LOVES me back into HIS PROTECTING ARMS like a MOTHER HEN.DO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?
  • Timothy Wayne George on Mark 14
Peter denied the Lord three times, because the Lord Jesus had told him before the cock shall crow twice you will deny me thrice. Jesus would restore Peter after He had risen. Jesus asked Peter three times do you love me? Peter responded yes Lord you know that I love you. After Jesus restores Peter, he tells him how he will glory God in his death. We too must answer the question of do we love Jesus more than these? As Jesus told his disciples to watch, and pray less they enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We all have failed the Lord just as Peter did, and the Lord has restored us too. When that day comes for us to lay our lives down for Jesus, we must say not my will, but thine be done. God gives us the same grace to live for him, that it takes to die for him. Paul said we are counted as sheep for the slaughter every day. We must first die to self, and then live for Jesus.
To live is Christ, and to die is gain.
  • Amy on Revelation 13
Well, first you have to apply the law of interpretation of the bible. Which is: When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; Therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning
Unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light Of related passages and
axiomatic and fundamental truths indicate clearly otherwise. That said, here we have "The Beast" who is demanding worship of the image he sets up, and image that can be "seen by all" which in itself is an abomination as the Jewish temple worship system never allowed anybody but the "High Priest" to open the door to the "Holy of Holies" and go in. That said, it seems that people are actively worshipping the beast before they receive the mark IN their right hand or IN their forehead. It's either the number, his name, or his image. Be it an implanted chip, or a tatoo, it's IN their skin on their right hand or forehead. Meantime, people are being killed if they do not worship the beast. And, the beast is Satan, even though a "fallen" Cherubim, a Cherubim is a "beast", just like there are animals here on earth. I have to think that those who take the mark are already worshipping the beast, but it's Satans assurance of their allegience. and to be sure, he makes it so they cannot buy or sell (eat or live) unless they take the mark. Once the mark is taken, that person has reached the "Point of no return" and are destined for hell. By this time, how much of the population is even left? Either way, the tribulation is for UNbelievers. Many will still be saved during that time, but they will have to die for their belief in Jesus.
  • Bible Reader Kirk on Acts 15
Iím sorry to ask a simple but powerfull question. Is not a Ghost realy another name for a demon? Think about it, people tell ghost story around a camp fire, right? So when people say Holy Ghost, is it not realy saying Holy Demon? That doesnít make no sence, right? If itís real lifeform, what is his personal name?

Maybe God fearing people should take closer look at this? Maybe looking up up the original Hebrew and Greek Bible language words for Holy Ghost will bring more clarity to these very important question?

Remember fellow Bible readers who is Godís number one enemy? Satan wants us to be a little lazy, he doesnít want church goers to do their homework.

A good students usually donít pass test without studing and doing home work.
  • Nico j.j.koroh on Song of Solomon 5
why this book should be in the word of God? that,s the first question to be raised? all the book of song of Solomon, is about the love of God to his people (that's the bride), otherwise we will miss understood the whole message
  • Charles Kennedy on 2 Thessalonians 2
The question is what is the temple of God and where is it? If it is obvious then the obvious is deception! There have been throughout the history of the scrolls and present day scriptures many proclamations of ones claiming deity!God is a Spirit thus the reference to the man of sin must be spirit. The New Testament reveals that our bodies is the Temple of God and that the devil, Satan also is in the human body showing himself that he is God! There are other scripturs that point to this but I'm limited in space. The key is " temple " and our body is the " temple " not made by hands! Paul wrote plainly in 2 Corinthians concerning another gospel, another Jesus, another spirit and identified such as false apostles, false prophets, deceitful workers, even Satan himself is transfomed into angel of light. If it was possible Satan would deceive the very " elect." Remember, if it is obvious, it is deception! The " temple " of God as revealed by the spirit of wisdom and revelation to the apostle Paul as written is " man's body. "
  • Matthew Uche on 1 Samuel 19
1Samuel 19 shows vividly the law of partnership:
David partnership with Jonathan Enables Him to Endure.
No leader succeeds on his own- not even a great leader whom God called "a man after My own heart" (Acts 13:22), and "the apple of [My] eye" (Psalm 17:8). Even David needed his Jonathan.
In the dark days when he scrambled from cave to cave to escape the murderous threats of King Saul, David turned to his friend, Jonathan, for strength and encouragement. At great risk to himself, Jonathan warned David and told him to hide out for a time (1 Sam. 19:2).
Jonathan, hoping to pacify his father and reconcile the king to his friend, spoke well of David. And for a short while Saul relented, promising that David would not die by his hand.

Soon the old animosities reaserted themselves, however, and Jonathan once again risked his life to help his dear friend (20:30-33). Even though he knew that God had chosen David-and not him-to rule Israel, Jonathan remained faithful to his comrade until the very end of his life. One verse in particular describes Jonathan's invaluable ministry to David: "Then Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David in the woods and srengthened his hand in God" (23:16).

Do you have someone who "strengthens your hand in God"? All leaders need loyal friends who can help them to persevere through the tough times.

The book of Proverbs 18:10 says; The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. KJV

    Jesus is Lord!
  • Jaida on John 12:48
How does the word judge you? Does that mean that peoples concience will be convicted because they'll know it's true? Or something? please help me. May the love of GOD reach you all.
  • Chaz on Acts 1
No read it again! Jesus told the apostles to go and tarry in Jerusalem UNTIL WHAT? They be endued with power from on high. No Holy Ghost, no power. I guess he had to rely on his own spirit, but not in the sense that we do! After all He is that spirit!
