  • Priscilla katushabe on 2 Esdras 4:36
    Please, which book is Esdras and Tobit?
  • Biodun Williams on Proverbs 8
    When the truths of the Holy Writ are put to work and honoured, we automatically become praise and adoration friendly, and that is, as unto God. And with that, the heavens cannot but open up on us. The fact is that we, as created human beings, and also as born again children of the Most High God, have been accepted already into the family of the beloved Jesus Christ, and that is that we might become wise unto salvation. Praise the LORD! As a matter of fact, based on the Scripture, we are meant to sow to ourselves, in righteousness- and with that, there are heaven's guaranteed rewards that glorify and honour the LORD God that He will permit toward us. That of course is one of the intent of the book of Proverbs; for it has all manner of issues that it covers and deals with. It is such an excellent and encouraging segment of the Scripture. It has warnings, admonitions, corrections, and directions inherent in it for he that believeth. And therefore, the Just shall live through the weaponry of faith, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. What do these mean? Well, it connotes and reflects, that even though we may have heard some things about God Word before and learn them, yet we must keep giving committed and unwavering attention to the Word of God- and also continue to live and honour God through what we have heard and learnt from His Word. Why is this? It is because, we belong to the things of the Holy Spirit- and God's Word works beautifully, wonderfully and remarkably.
  • Anonymous on Jeremiah 20
    Jesus' life on earth was like Jeremiah's. People came and blessed the day of His birth. The angels said 'Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, good will toward men', but his life was persecuted, cursed, falsely accused of and put to death. He didn't give up on Himself. He must have known the greater outcome, bottom line things that men don't: that His kingdom is not of this world. What hold does death or persecution from men have on His kingdom?
  • Wendie on Matthew 23:9
    I find really fascinating that people prefer traditions over scripture. The Bible is always clear on its teachings and yet, because of traditions long held by 'ancestors', people are quite happy to ignore the teachings of the Bible and go on believing that they are worshipers of God. How can you worship God if you ignore what he says and obey men? Call me crazy, but I think that would make you a worshiper of men. Really fascinating....
  • Stan Unger on Joel 2:1
    Please explain, What is Zion?
  • Jeanette Campbell /Warner on Daniel 4:16
    To change a heart you must know it, and the word asks us who can know this wicked and perverse miracle that God has given us? Jeremiah 17:9. Only God can know our hearts because He created us in His own image, and not only that, He is the Holy and awesome one that changes what He wishes, whatever He desires He is God; maker of heaven and earth.
  • Sincere on Deuteronomy 1
    This is so pathetic. How can God or anyone else condone a landless group going into a land already possessed? Sounds like something some landless people made up to justify pillage.
  • Carol on Matthew 19:24
    Now the question comes to mind. What in today's standards is a rich man? $100, $5000, at which point must I start to worry that I'm doomed because I've been saving for retirement.
  • James M. Bucher on Luke 23:31
    My opinion in this, about the green and dry tree is this; in Matthew 19:3-12, some Pharisees approached him to test him, they asked; is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds. Verse 4, haven’t you read, he replied that he who created them in the beginning, made them male and female. Verse 5, he also said: for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. Verse 6, so they are no longer two but one flesh, therefore what God has joined together man must not separate. Verse 7, why then, they ask him did Moses command us to give divorce papers, and to send her away. Verse 8, he told them, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts, but it was not like that from the beginning: Verse 9, and I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except, for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. Verse 10, his disciples said to him, if the relationship of a man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry. Verse 11, but he told them, not everyone can accept this saying? But only those it has been given to. Verse 12, for there are eunuchs, who were born that way from their mothers’ womb, there are eunuchs who were made by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves that way because of the kingdom of heaven, let anyone accept this who can. In Luke 23-27-29, the women were following Jesus as he was going to the cross they were mourning and lamenting him but turning to them, Jesus said daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and your children. Verse 29, look, the days are coming when they say, blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed; Isaiah said in 54:1-rejoice oh barren one, you who have not been in labor, for the children of the forsaken one will be more than the children of the married woman, says the Lord. Geneses 3:16, he said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains: you will bear children: in Isaiah 56:3, no foreigner who has converted to the Lord should say, the Lord will exclude me from his people, and the eunuch should not say look, I am a dried up tree. Look on verses 4, I will give them, in my house and within my walls, a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters, I will give them a forever lasting name, this my thought on Luke 23:31. Jesus is talking about a woman, or man that can’t produce of their seed, if a women has children, she is fruitful green tree if not she could be a dry tree; or a eunuch can’t produce some eunuchs. When some men decide not to marry could be considered? God bless you women and men that can bear this.
  • Connie on Psalms 23
    Can you make this Psalms 23 in easy American Sign Language? For all 6 verses?
  • Afam on Mark 10:18
    You guys are entirely missing the point. Jesus is God. Him and the father are one. He is the express image of the father. The perfect imprint. The very icon of the father. Jesus in addressing the man, told him no one is good but God. Why? Look at the previous verse 17. This very man called him good teacher only because he witnessed his acts and not because he was convinced he was son of God. Jesus was trying to tell the man that one is good not because of only his outward act but also that he possesses the nature of God. There is a difference between right living and righteousness. You can only live right if you have the righteousness of God. The righteousness of God is the expression of the nature and will of God. Christ gave full expression to that. After all, it’s God that judges what is right and wrong. You have to know the will of God to know that. You can't just see a man and say he is good if you don't have the correct standard to judge by which is the will and nature of God. When you receive Christ, this is given to you as a gift. Only then can you rightly judge. Please study your bible very well. Spiritual things are foolishness to the natural man, 1 Corinth 2:14.
  • Biodun Williams on Proverbs 8
    Proverbs 8 starts with two provoking and penetrating questions! In other words, can you hear the cry of Wisdom and knowledge in the society where you are and where you go! Interestingly, hardly is there any profession or discipline that does not have its light, but the light of the Gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ, surpasses all of them. And therefore, through this chapter, we have an invitation to examine ourselves and look, as it were, very carefully and thoroughly in to who we are and what we are into. You see, in the work place, if you have even been involved in any sort of work, you are likely to notice that if you must get for instance to the top of the ladder in that sort of organisation or whatever, you can’t ignore hard work, high level of discipline, passion, integrity, and also commitment that is more than the ordinary. And, in all civilised society particularly in the Western World- and also in some others, you can notice elements of order, wherever you go. These did not suddenly happen- and often there must have been years of hard work, planning and all manner of inputs into it- and that is why sometimes you can smell migrants relocating into some of these areas from other places. But what has this got to do with Proverbs 8? Well, you see, in life, all things have some measure relativity with one another. Therefore, the importance and the high relevance and necessity of the Word of God, in the life of a Christian. The fact is that, if we are genuinely born again we must have heard that, as far as the Kingdom of God is concerned, your fellowship and intimacy with the Triune God, and the level of investment that we commit in terms of prayerful time in His Word can’t be ignored. There are spaces and there are seats? There are dominions and there are thrones? There are doors and there are entrances. The truth is that the space that you give God is what He will occupy and that is because it is the entrance of God’s Word into the spiritual man that giveth light, Psalms 119:130. In fact it says: To the law and to the testimony if they speak not according to this book, it is because there is no light in them, Isaiah 8:20. This also points to the importance of true knowledge of the Holy Writ- and it can’t simply happen except we are really serious about it. It is also true that what you pay attention to has one way of the other, of determining the course of your life- hence the immense relevance of intensive immersion in the Holy Writ- and that is through, whatever manner of the dispensing and administering of the preached Word that comes your way. If the Holy Writ says: ‘’Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…’’, Matthew 6:33; that is precisely what it meaneth! It is also the case that if it says, ‘’Delight yourself in the LORD and He shall give you the desires of your heart’’ (Psalms 37:4), indicating and connoting, investment of great amount of time in God’s Word, through prayers , fellowship with God, reflecting upon His Word, and the practice of it, then that is what it sayeth! That means you and I, are the ones to determine the measure of obedience that we put in place vis a vis the will of God as He reveals it to us differently. The interesting things about it is that no matter your depth of knowledge about these things, God’s Word is unfathomable, and when you become a student of His Word, very soon, you would come to an understanding that, God, in His righteousness, love, holiness and immeasurable generosity, is truly and really worthy of honour, adoration, praise and worship. Blessed be His holy name forever and ever. Hallelujah!
  • Tosyn on 1 John 5:7
    I really like the comment made by Wayne T's. He said people should go and check for themselves if those things are true. He even gave names of extant MS. But the question is 'Why is it that people don't like to research something'? Why am I labelled heretic because i don't believe in paganistic view of God as a 'Triune' God? Why is it difficult to believe what the scripture says about Christ -'God manifest in the flesh'. So who manifest in the flesh? 2nd person of trinity? If your answer is yes, then how can Paul says that in Christ dwells the fullness of godhead bodily? If the second person was incarnated and not YHWH, the only true God, then how can the fulness of godhead dwells in Christ? can't you see that we are reducing Christ from who he really is by Triune God? can't you see that the scripture does not support any form of tri-personality in one as claimed by Tertullian? Do you think the apostles who were strictly monotheistic in their believe have this trinity idea? If you are confuse by some scriptures that make it seems that God is more than one person, isn't it a good opportunity for you to prove all things and hold on to that which is true? I know Christology is the main issue that caused confusion to some Greek converted philosophers. Hence they had to resort to their own view of the Logos to explain who Jesus is. For the recored from the scripture, Jesus is the manifestation of the ONLY true God in human flesh. This is the mystery. The trinity is not the mystery, but a paganistic view of God. The Father is exclusive Spirit.He is father because of incarnation, He begot a Son in time, a genuine human being with flesh and soul. However, Jesus is that same exclusive Spirit adding humanity to his deity. Now this is where the distinction comes from and not in any kind of eternal distinction. Yes the plan had been with God what He would do in time, hence 'the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the world'. Was any lamb really slain before Jesus died on the cross? This is what God in His foreknowledge knew he would do in time. Fellow christians, I know in time if God wills we'll all come to the knowledge of who God really is, or at least in heaven, but to start supporting something without diligent studies and labeling it as the Orthodox Christianity is not only arrogant but misleading. The Roman Catholic church has a lot of questions to answer to God. They really did a lot of damage to the true church's beliefs. My prayer is that God will open our heart of understanding, that Christ may dwell in our hearts, that we may know what is the length, breadth, the height of the love of God that pass all understanding. When Christ returned to heaven, even the angels at the gate queried 'Who is this Lord of glory'? And Christ replied "the Lord of host" "the Lord strong and mighty" is the Lord of glory! So if the angels never knew this mystery at the time in question, who am I to blame humans with a faulty view of who the Lord of Glory is? I leave you with this: Deuteronomy 6:4 - Hear oh Israel, YHWH is our God. YHWH is one. God bless you.
  • Ian on 2 Peter 1
    this verse for me proves that the interpretation of Acts 20:7 justifying sunday worship is going against scripture. Acts 20:7 does not command rest on sunday say sunday is hallowed to be remembered and kept holy. to go against scripture goes against God and Jesus. John 10 35 Jesus says scripture cant be broken. v20 he says I and my father are 1. John 15:10 He says I kept My fathers commandments. Luke 6:46 He says why call me Lord and not do what I say? Luke 4:16 says He went into the synagogue in Nazareth to read as was His custom. Today as then each sabbath they read from the Torah in every synagogue around the world. gentiles that are saved and truly repentant are spiritual israelites. we are adopted into Christs faith. we should obey the Word of that faith. Not what we think scripture says. Luke 4.4 man must live not by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. No scripture commands the first day to be observed or to stop observing Gods 7 holy feasts.The 7th day and 7 feasts that number is Gods number of perfection. he has a plan for the end times for Jesus to fulfill through the weekly and annual sabbaths. We need to observe them as god commanded and jesus did if we are to be right with God.
  • Nancy on Revelation 1:1
    Out of all these definitions on Revelation 1:1, you got every word correct. No one sees the truth because they have a problem with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ being our precious God and Creator. There is one verse that sticks out in my mind, who did Paul preach? Jesus. Read Acts 17:23. This is just one of many.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Matthew 25
    The sheep and goat judgment will take place when the Lord Jesus Christ comes in the second advent to establish His Kingdom. Before Him will be gathered all the nations of the world, and He will set the sheep on His right hand, and the goats on His left, then he will say I was hungry, and you feed me, thirsty, and you gave me to drink, sick and in prison, and you visited me. Naked and you clothed me, a stranger, and you took me in. Then shall the righteous say when did we do these things? Jesus shall reply, in as much as you did it unto the least of these my brothers, you did it unto me. All those nations that fail to provide for the nation Israel will be the goats, and they will be told to depart from Him into everlasting fire prepared for the devil, and his angels. The sheep on the right that did provide for Israel will be allowed to enter the kingdom of God.
  • BALAJI on John 1:39
    Actually it is not clearly told, where he stayed. Where did he stay? Anybody please give me the answer with very clear reference, not a vague one.
  • Timothy Wayne George on 2 Thessalonians 3
    The Lord Jesus asks, when the Son of man comes back will there be any faith on the Earth? It is sure that all men have not the faith, but as we get closer to the coming of the Lord this will become a total departure from the faith. We as believers are salt, and light, therefore we must conduct ourselves in orderly living as we wait for the coming of the Lord. As we must continue to support our families, and don't do like some of the believers who sold everything and waited for the Lord's return. Instead a waiter is a server, who patiently serves others. This is the context of this passage. We must continue to serve others as we wait for the coming of the Lord. By doing this the unbelievers will be inspired by our life style, and want to accept Christ as their Savior. May the Lord so direct our hearts into the love of Christ, and the patient waiting for His return.
  • Jay on Luke 23
    @Susan Dalton,
    1. War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!
    2. It has been said that war is God's judgment of sin here on earth and hell (not Hades) is God's judgment of sin hereafter;
    3. War and violence will be continuous on earth until the prince of peace stops it after the white throne judgment (Revelation 20:15) when eternity begins.
  • Jay on Luke 23
    @ Wilsom Mungai,
    1. The time of salvation is the moment a person calls upon and receives the lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior (Romans 10:9-13);
    2. Easter is a Babylonian pagan ritual from the pagan Astaroth (Deuteronomy 1:4);
    3. A bible believing Christian should never refer to the resurrection day as Easter;
    4. My question is what does the rabbit and egg have to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
  • Timothy Sims on 2 Peter 3:17
    What a powerful book and chapter! Peter understands that the Lord's coming back and implores us to be ready. He gives strict warnings to us not to be led away with the error of the wicked... once saved, always saved? Only if you don't walk away or are not led away that he won’t leave us. But we can leave him... The bible bears this out through and through. Don’t forget these letters.
  • RAYMOND MEMBER on Judges 14:18
    Judges 14:18. What is sweeter then honey? And what is stronger than a Lion?.. This riddle has been answered. Please, I need to know.
  • Tom on Matthew 6:24
    When we do not place God first in our lives, when we do not allow his spirit to rule our thoughts, when we do not apply his word to every choice we make, what are we truly seeking? Seek first the kingdom of God and all this will be added to you. It amazes me how far the world has fallen away, just look around, pride everywhere, entertainment has taken over every aspect of our lives, our idol is the life we live in this flesh. God says love this life and you will lose life, well then the vast majority alive today are dead, and do not even know it. It like a spiders web consisting of every facet of life, all based on the all mighty dollar, the holly wood industry calls it being creative, aka talented, same with the music industry, sports too with their hall of fame, all being paid astronomical amounts of money, and we call them STARS. No one considers themselves lost because they are rich, but just how rich are they? What do you think Jesus thinks about everything I have mentioned? The world is spinning out of control, people really have no concept of what a treasure is, being rich is, FOR WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN (OR WOMAN) IF HE(OR SHE) GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD BUT LOSES HIS SOUL?
  • David on Exodus 12
    Exodus 12:2 mentions "This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you." What month in our calendar does this refer to? Also this chapter states "And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening." Since the scripture clearly states that the Passover shall start on the 14th day of the month why does the date change every year?
  • Annette Okereke on 2 Kings 4
    Whose report shall we believe? The report of the Lord. We should run to our source of hope, the only one who can really help,.. God. His ears are open to our cries... This man of God knows his God, he was strong and did exploits. I pray that God will raise people for this generation that will continue in this path.. "these signs shall follow them that believe in my name, they will lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover......”
  • Talisha on Proverbs 18:22
    Can someone explain this verse to me? What is God's intention for this verse? My mom takes this verse and runs with it. Every time I meet a guy she wants to know who approached who.
  • Goddey on Luke 6
    This is a beautiful chapter and it is loaded with great lessons. It shows that God loves everyone so much and would always love to see him/her in good health and enjoying life. Hunger was quenched via non conventional and traditional way on Sabbath day, a sick person supernaturally healed on Sabbath day? Can you imagine how much God wants all men to be fed and be in good health? We should follow the example of caring for the needy. Many times we quote Luke 6.38 without recognizing that the conditions for having baskets full and running over is attached to how we treat other people and not just the giving of offering in Church. Give to everyone that asks, love your enemies, be committed to doing good, making use of spiritual gifts etc. I think we should renew our commitment to the full teachings of the word of God in order to reap the full benefits of the promises. Amen
  • Lyn on Psalms 118
    I love this scripture so much. Right after we had our son, they terminated my husband’s job. How does one rejoice in such a situation? It takes only the hand of God. Thanks to psalm118, we rejoice everyday by giving thanks to the almighty father above.
  • Biodun Williams on Deuteronomy 28
    God’s blessings, are constantly available for those that love and honour Him. As a matter of fact it is not a denominational thing, but truly what He has, in His Kingdom. And that indicates that, whosoever has genuinely and truly given his life to the LORD, is already, in the family of God. Hence, through the agency of the Holy Spirit he can partake of the best that God has made available. This book of Deuteronomy is one of those areas, in the Holy Writ where it reveals the kind of blessings that God has promised for he that loveth and believeth Him through Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The beginning of it, in verse 1, talks about, what God, will do for such that is fully committed to Him through hearkening, listening and constant obedience to His commandments. And then it says, in verse 2, that all these blessings shall come and overtake you if you shall hearken to the voice of thy God. What does that connote? It connotes that God, in His eternal faithfulness demands committed obedience from all His children- and when you come to think about it, that shouldn’t be a thing of difficulty- and that is when we consider who God is and the fact that He is love. Well, there, in that commencement of scriptures and some other part of that chapter, are a great promises that talk about over flowing blessings. It refers to blessings that would spring forth, and come in such a way that it would totally and completely take care of whatever needs that you and I are confronted with. The truth is, God has declared His Word, and yet it is only beneficial to the hearer and doers of His dictates. The conditions, terms and provisos attached to this, through this Deuteronomy 28, are to diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD and observe to do according to all His commandments.. Please, look at that word “voice”. It means ‘His Voice’-and that is ‘God’s Voice’ and not that of a man, even though primarily He’ll speak through the agency of His Word and through the Holy Spirit. He also speaks through His servants and that aspect of the preached word is considered as secondary. The fact is, if we are diligent and fully committed enough to honour the conditions of His dictates, then overflowing blessing become guaranteed. God has agreed, covenanted and promised to meet, all the needs of those that love Him- and that is, He desires to shower on you and I, His blessings, and that is to the degree or the level of commitment and trust that we put on His Word. Therefore, it is wise and appropriate, to reflect upon, listen to, peruse, research, dwell upon and practice His Word. It is only for they that crave for, thirst after, love and believes His lovingkindness. And that is, hidden in His righteousness.
  • Stevie on Daniel 3
    In verse 15, the king said "who is that God who is able to deliver you (3 Hebrews) from my hand?" Then in verse 26 after the king saw that the boys were not burnt, he went to the mouth of the furnace and called out saying "you servants of the most High God". From this account we see that after this the king was no longer pagan. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God, the Hebrew boys preached God's word to the king and the king saw God's miracles in the lives the Hebrew boys, therefore, the king later believed in the true God. Let us emulate the Hebrew boys and make a positive impact wherever we are and win lost souls.
