Some believe that while Jesus' body was in the tomb, His spirit was in hell.Scripture doesn't support that position when it is taken in context and we look at the meaning of the word "hell." In the Old Testament, the place of the dead or the place of departed souls was called "SHEOL." It was to this place that all souls of the dead went to await resurrection.
In the New Testament, we find the story of Lazarus and the rich man who both died and went to Hades ( Luke 16:19-31). The KJV translates the Greek word "hades" as hell but most other translations use the Greek word. HADES had two separated parts: Those who died in faith believing in God's promise waited for the resurrection in Abraham's Bosom. Those who died spiritually separated from God wait in torment for the resurrection unto death, eternal separation from God. The rich man was on the torment side and Lazarus was in ABRAHAMS BOSOM which was called "PARADISE" by the LORD Jesus Christ himself when He addressed the thief who found faith the day Jesus was crucified ( Luke 23:42-43)
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment" ( 2 Peter 2:4). The word translated "HELL" here is not the Greek word "HADES" but is the Greek word "TARTARUS" meaning ABYSS or the lowest regions. This could very well be the "gulf" that was fixed between the PLACE OF TORMENT and Abraham's Bosom ( Luke 16:26).
Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things" ( Ephesians 4:8-10). Leading captivity captive seems to refer to Jesus taking all those that waited in Paradise, to heaven to be with Him. The descending into the "lower parts" then refers to Jesus declaring Victory.
Are you saying, that as Stephen was being stoned to death (under Paul's supervision);

The Bible says he's seated, but in this event He stood up... ? Anyone wanna bet that Steven did not descend to a place of holding. After this event, Paul was blinded, knocked off his horse, and questioned by Jesus, "why are you persecuting ME?!"

how many times did JESUS go to Jerusalem specifically for Passover? i only see once; and yet all men are called to attend 3 feasts in Jerusalem annually. It seems HE only preached for a year and a bit?

Leviticus 26:18 "And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins." What does that prophesy have to do with a split Israel?

-What nations did Ephraim & Manasseh & Judah become?
-Who are the birthright people?
-When did the house of Israel go into captivity?
-When did the house of Judah go into captivity?
Knowing the answers will reveal who these people are today.

Hey there my name is yvonne given , and I have of late been trying to follow God's law, alot of it I do not understand. For example the sabbath the Sunday it says to do no works ect.... Dose this also mean to fast, not talk and not do well anything that brings pleasure to myself such as art or music? And can we pray to jesus but in or heads or with or mouths?, yesterday I just rested and did absolutely nothing as it says the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath.... I have so meany questions on God's laws and trying to understand them I feel I need like wise counsel but its hard to trust churches and ministrys because alot of them make Monay in christ name. Covenant what does this mean? I had someone tell me that covenant meant that you want what someone else has and that it is a sin? I am reading Genesis and in here it does not say that I am confused on this word and its meaning. Also why does Jacob have childeren with other women and he is married. is that not a sin? Rachel is also Jacob's mother's brother's daughter and Jacob marry's her is that not a sin bc that means they are blood kin? I am so confused on this
