  • Ren on 2 Timothy 4
The proper form of baptism is in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as Jesus designated in Matthew 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." The clear command of Jesus is to baptize this way. Then why do we see so many instances in the New Testament where people were baptized "in Jesus' name"?
  • Lu2677 on Ezekiel 31
Word,I have given more thought to your comment about the trees. John 3:8 "For the devil sinneth from the beginning"You said Satan IS the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When does Satan do good? In the garden; if Eve did NOT eat (as you claim) fruit of the tree of knowlege good and evil, of which God told her not to do.What was the deception that Eve succumbed to that caused our sinful state?

Irene (cont.) and when Solomon had that dream when God appeared to him, and told him to ask whatever he wanted; what was in his heart was to be like his father David in his ability to care for Israel. If he had secret pride, as you say, how did God not see it afar off, and confront him with that evil in his heart? you are mistaken about that! God saw what was in his heart, and was pleased to give!
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 3
Word,I posted a reply to your comment on chapter 2; page. Also, Adam "knew" (had intercourse with) Eve and she gave birth to Cain their first child after God removed them from the garden in Chapter 4. Because of these events of Eve's deception (the fall of man) all are born under sin.The concept of "Satan had Cain" is not in scripture. Where may I ask do you get your ideas? Books/pastor/friends?
  • Irene123 on Acts 10
Disciple - "God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of .....; where does one find this scripture?
  • A disciple
Barnabas (cont.) Jesus told the Jews who proudly pretended to be above believing in Christ, because they were "disciples of Moses;" that they really didn't believe Moses' writings and therefore how could they believe Jesus' words? After centuries of defiance and disobedience to the faith; what was essentially different in them now by an empty outward show of religion, while inwardly still defiant?
  • A disciple on Hebrews 10
Barnabas; Not sure what you mean? The Sacred and Holy Thing "committed to our trust," is NOT "ours to do with as we please!" All souls are God's, and the prerogative to save one and destroy another is His only as well. God has put the capacity in each of us, do either be of the truth, or else to never stand in the truth; to serve God or to serve Him not.We will be judged according to that we have.
  • Lu2677 on Proverbs 1
Proverbs 1:7"The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:"V.24"Because I have called, and ye have refused:I have stretched out my hand, and no one regarded."26,I will also laugh at your calamity;I will laugh when your fear comes(fear of what?that which comes in v.27,destruction,distress,anguish.29;they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD. 33;harken unto me=noFEAR of evil.
  • Clarifying (very small portion) Rev 19:13 Mark 13:23 John 14:9 ily
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; Jesus Christ tells us all from beginning to end. He never tells untruth. He gives us all a way to live the fullest in righteousness
  • Barnabus on Hebrews 10
I, too, am one in need of salvation, which is the preservation of the soul, which was granted to me somehow, someway, in the eonosphere(
made up name). Nevertheless, is it not mine to do with as I desire. Will it endure no matter what or will it die in the lake of fire for carelessness towards God law of Monotheism? Hebrews is about Salvation in Faith. Moses is Salvation in obedience. Right?
  • Mikey on 1 John 5
5:19 helps us to identify who the ruler of the world is. Who is “the wicked one”? Satan the Devil.
  • A disciple on 1 Timothy 2
Lu2677; If I may? I think a lot of people were uneducated, but that wasn't the reason women were forbidden to teach and to dominate the men, but to be under obedience and to keep silence. The modern culture of some western countries, who have become spiritual adulteresses; congratulate themselves for things that are abomination to God, and STILL forbidden! But who dares say anything these days?
  • Lu2677 on 1 Samuel 20
Hi Irene123, I see the arrows as merely a manner that David used and was sending Jonathan a message. Care to enlighten me to what you think the arrows are referring to? Thanks
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 3
Word, I understand what God says about creation in chapter 1. I don't understand what you are saying about it. On this page you say "Satan was the tree of good and evil" So you are saying the fruit that Eve ate, the fruit of the tree that God warned her not to EAT, was plucked from Satan's body??? Christ is from the blood line of Adam and Eve because she is "the mother of all the earth"
  • Matter of Importance Rev 12:17 (very small portion) ily on Genesis 1
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Do you have the testimony of Jesus Christ in your heart? You may have trouble following any of this if you do not .John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture... I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life
  • A disciple on John 3
"Jesus answered and said to him, You are the teacher of Israel, and these things know not? Verily, verily I say to you, That which we know we speak, and that which we have seen we bear witness of; and you receive not our witness!" If God sees and knows the innermost parts in us, and tells them to us; it must also be, that we too who are having those innermost thoughts must acknowledge them indeed.
  • A disciple on John 13
Can you imagine some Church leader throwing out John the Apostle, or any of those who supported Paul? (3 John 9-11) But everyone that is really and truly of God, will receive whosoever God sends to them. If they know us not, it is because they know not the Lord, whose we are. For us also, we must remember to be gentle and kind to every bruised reed and smoking flax; considering our own frailty.
  • A disciple on Genesis 1
So MUCH "parroting" of others' sayings, and guessing at the meaning of Scripture! Why is it so neglected to teach the younger to be quiet and wait on the Lord? Knowledge and understanding comes by continuing in the Word in reading and DOING; and by asking in prayer and waiting for growth and maturity; and by time and patience, through proving faithful by many trials. A novice has none of THESE!
  • A disciple on Jonah 3
How do we pray? Matthew 6:5-13 the Lord Jesus tells us exactly: first; not to do so as an actor under an assumed character to put on or give a false or misleading appearance to conceal one's true nature, motives or thoughts - NOT as a hypocrite! Not for fondness of praise from others in Church or on the streets; Not for "giving light to others;" Not as the heathen, acting out of superstition.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 20
I am NOT being 'holier-than-thou, nor judgmental, but HOW can anyone read this chapter, 1 Sam. 20, and not know what the arrows were all about??? It's made so very plain.
  • Bruce on Romans 2
Clg: All Men Created Equal? Is that The Paper John Hancock Signed? I Don't think that quote is in The Bible.
  • Lu2677 on Psalms 73
Psalms 73:25 "Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon the earth, that I desire beside thee." 28"But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I might declare all thy works." Amen. V.18"Surely didst thou set them in slippery places, thou cast them down into destruction."
  • A disciple on John 13
Walter, If a brother or sister doesn't want to go to a church; what does it concern you? Many in the Scriptures had to walk alone; not as a sign of God's disfavor, but of His Election. Not going to a Church doesn't mean they don't want fellowship; but more likely because they can't find it among the Church cliques of hypocrites and impostors. A true brother or sister will always recognize family!
  • A disciple on Genesis 2
    T. Eric; you are right! The story of how Christians started observing Sunday instead of the Sabbath, goes back to the Emperor Constantine; who after he became a Christian (?) still worshiped the sun-god (Nimrod), and wanted to keep observing sun-day in his honor. It has really nothing more to do with the first day of the week, like many think. The early disciples from the Gentiles didn't do that!
  • Bruce on Luke 17
disciple: You have that backwards. Noah and his Family were taken away from the destruction coming. The same with Lots Family. The same is going to happen in the end. He will take The Ones Washed in His Blood away from The Wrath coming on The Whole World and so shall We ever be with The Lord. Has He Tugged on Your Heart? Ask Forgiveness. You will be Washed,Baptized,Changed. Salvation is WOW!!!
  • Irene123 on John 13
Vs. 4-8; does anyone have any comments on foot washing ..... ? Pro - con; doesn't matter. I have no designs to reply.
  • Irene123 on John 13
Walter - In your question, "Can anyone describe a backslidden Christian?" You went ahead and answered your own question - someone who has known salvation, and then quit fellowshipping with the saints he was with in THE church he was spiritually born into.
  • Irene123
"Is Spiritual authority important to God? Read Jesus' reaction to the Centurion in Matthew 8. Jesus declared that this man demonstrated faith beyond any of God's people. What the soldier demonstrated that Jess found so amazing was his grasp of the concept of being under authority. This soldier knew and obeyed authority over him, and it gave him his authority he needed. John 15:5
  • Robert Johnson on Isaiah 44
God "RECYCLES"... "WHY"?? Because you are sitting on your "CAN?!! Seek your "REDEMPTION VALUE" in this Life... As the Bible is both a teaching and test to produce a testimony of truth. As in that one may find "Conviction", that being best described as a purpose in this physical life beyond one's own selfish desires and carrying that out to the best of one's ability, thus finding "Earning Redemption" in the eyes of God... 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things, have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
  • Walter on John 13
Can anyone define a backslidden Christian? It is used in the OT referring to the nation of Israel but not in the NT referring to those who are born again. Any examples in the bible where someone saved didn't want to go to church, fellowship w/the saints, read their bible, witness for Christ...etc? It's a serious question, thx!
