  • Joseph on Jonah 2
@ Sandie, when Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, He started off with: Our father which art in heaven... Luke11:2. So yes our prayers do go to heaven. Isaiah 61:1
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool: where is the
house that ye build unto me? and where is the
    place of my rest?
  • Frank Burtz on Genesis 15:9
I just want to know why was a female heifer, and female she-goat was used? Why females?
  • Sigmund Ivarsson on Luke 13:24
If the gate is so narrow of course many cannot enter at the same time. Not only that but it is also very low so that you must bow down very low to enter. Watch you heads sort of warning. If your head is up high full of pride you will get knocked out but if you bow you also cannot hide any weapons. These things that the Camel cannot bring in nor a person are worldly goods and the traditions of men. You say but these are our tradition and God says drop them. You say they are sacred, God says they are unclean. All of them to the trash heap to be burned. You say I am burning your honor and I say how perceptive of you. Do you still want to come in?
  • Sigmund Ivarsson on Luke 7
Since God forgives everyone then those who have been forgiven the most live love him the most. Well that means Hitler will love him or Stalin or even Mao will love him. Not necessarily because they might not repent and be proud of what they should be ashamed of. Only the believer can love Jesus and there are some big time sinners among believers. Many of these have not had the privilege of being alive at the same time that Jesus was on earth even less have a chance encounter with him. Many unbelievers met him and did not know him since it is impossible for an unbeliever to recognize God in human form. So this is the question of this age. How will you recognize him in this day and age knowing tha he has a new name that no man knows. Not by name of course we have seen the ravage of many who have come in his name. It is by his words that you will know him and only if you are a true believer. Do you believe what I have just said?
  • BSP on Romans 8:31
This verse is so inspiring. If we have God, who is the most powerful Being in the universe, on our side, then what do we have to fear?
  • Francisca Owusu Anasah on Hebrews 11:1
Our text describe faith as evidence of things not seen. For example, you hope for finances to meet obligations that you have to pay. Faith gives the assurance that you will have the money when you need it. You hope for physical strength to do work that you must do.Faith says ''The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). Faith will say about itself everything that the says, for faith in God is simply faith in His Word.
  • Brendatte cantave on Genesis 2
Thats just like us today. God blesses us and gives us a command, don't do this, and what do we do? Try to get on the same level as god.
  • Sandie on Jonah 2:7
But, God is everywhere, so would we say our prayers go up to heaven?
  • Caspart Yoanes on Proverbs 31
I like Proverbs 31:10 and 31:30. The scripture asks 'who can find a virtuous woman (wife)? I, personally feel that I cant find it or my parents or my friends or anyone can find it for me. I believe the Lord can find the best and virtuous wife for me.

Verse 30 says "... a woman who honours the Lord..." is far more than rupees. Then the question that I pose is, how do I know a woman honours the Lord? My personal thinking and feeling is that only my Lord Jesus Christ knows the woman sho honours Him truthfully.

Whoever God gives me is the one that my Lord has found for me and the one He knows honours him truthfully. Sorry, its a bit hard to feel the same as me. The Lord has given me the wife of my life and this is my testimony.
  • Paul Yakubu on Job 19:25
What are you growing on the inside of you? The anointing is like the rain: it will make both the wheat and tares grow. You can use your anointing to grow pride, ego, selfishness and the likes. Watch and pray.
  • Sigmund Ivarsson on Luke 16
The rich young man asked Jesus what shall I do to enter the kingdom? He answered sell everything and follow me. It was the day he was going to Jerusalem. Of course any man would have to be totally crazy to give up everything to follow a beggar to persecution. Today that would be considered immoral and insane. I have done these things and now have become a beggar. I sold my Ferrari to pay for the debt I incurred going to Jerusalem. I sold my forty thousand dollar watch and everything that could make me appear rich. I now ride a bicycle and have to beg for a living. I can say that in my living envelope I have seen it all. I have now reached the kingdom. From here I can lift all of humanity to a better place, the kingdom of God.
  • James on Exodus 33
Why is the Tabernacle mentioned to be set up without the camp in Ch. 33, when Chs. 35-40 the
materials for and the producing of the boards,
coverings, etc. were done and the dedication was done in ch. 40?
  • Olivia on Deuteronomy 22:5
God's Word does not change, however times do. At the time of writing, men and women were wearing dresses. What was the distinct difference between the two? Today men and women wear pants, however the pattern or design is suited for each sex. Therefore, interpretation of the scriptures has to be given through the Holy Spirit, because what is acceptable for me may not be acceptable for you. This is why we have to be careful not to stumble one another with our opinions. God is coming back for the heart of his people. He is just and gracious to overlook such ignorance.

    @Rosalina

St. Paul explained clearly what "breaking bread" meant. 1 Cor 10:16 "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the Blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the Body of Christ?" St. Paul continued, 1 Cor 11:27 "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord." St. Paul in these words confirmed Catholic teaching that the "bread of the Lord" is truly Christ's Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, and that the "cup of the Lord" is the same substance: "Whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord."
  • Matthew Bond on Revelation 12:17
Is this the first account of the Angry Dragon?
  • To Brian...dear brother...will not the God of the whole earth do right? God's very nature is one of love and mercy and He will take every single thing into account...there is nothing that is hidden from His view...His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways....God is way outside the realm of thinking of mortal man. Having said that, all scripture is profitable for doctrine, correction and instruction in righteousness and is God breathed. He gave every single word to the penmen. Your concerns should be given over to Jesus....trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding.
  • Ock on Romans 10
    @Rosalina (great discussions!!}
Ithink you are forgetting about the "laying on of hands"needed for authority to preach?
Deut 34:9, "And Joshua, the son of Nun was full of the Spirit of Wisdom; for Moses had LAID HIS HANDS UPON HIM: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and he did as the Lord commanded Moses."
Acts 6:6, "These they set before the apostles, and after they had prayed they LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM".
Acts 9:17, "...and LAYING HIS HANDS UPON HIM, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me"
Acts 8:17, "Then they LAID THEIR HANDS ON THEM and they received the Holy Spirit."
Acts 13:3, "Then having fasted and prayed and LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM, they let them go."
2Tim 1:6, "For this reason I admonish thee to stir up the grace of GOD which is in thee, BY THE LAYING ON OF MY HANDS."
1Ti,m 4:14 "Do not neglect the grace that is in thee, granted to thee by reason of prophecy with the LAYING ON OF HANDS of the presbyterate." [PRIESTS]
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take.
This same rite was practiced in the early Church and continues to this day, The Bishop, by the 'LAYING ON OF HANDS', conveys a succession of Priests and Bishops with a commission, giving them the authority to perpetuate the Church which Jesus Christ founded. Apostalic Succession & only one Church can lay claim to it. The Catholic Church

  • Ernie on Leviticus 19:28
its not your body, dont do it. psychology studies relate that low self esteem and COWARDICE prompt people to get tatoos to exhibit "look at me Im tough" I gotta tatoo. Seriously! it is selfish craving attention when Jesus say become selfless. SPend the $200-$1000 dollars buying someone lunch instead. "why do you spend money on things other than food that sustains." Tatoos are just nasty. I always ask "Hey what did you go in for?"(prison) After being a cop for 17 yrs priorities of criminals are screwed up..tatoos,beer,drugs,cigarettes,big rims on my car, loud stereo,..forget feeding and providing for the children created in a drunken stupor...but look at my cool tatoo and my obama phone and food stamps. Why do you want to look like a ex-con? To instill fear in other people. thats the technique of the devil. Have a nice day. you cant eat that tatoo.but hey your cool and Im not. Jesus still loves you.
  • David Shanyibwa on Galatians 1:19
Why use "the Lord's brother" to distinguish James? why not use any other identification?
  • Patty on Numbers 31
I was asking myself the same q why did these girls kept alive and taken to the camp, n? other q these girls seeing the way that there fore parents and congragation worshiping false Baal Pe,or,s contaminate other girls in the camp with their false god,s? that,s why God was angry at what they did? since they ,re already there, God gave them a chance to know the real God?
  • OCK on John 6

6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
the Jews were well aware of the laws against the consumption of blood. They understood Jesus was speaking literally, if not why would they walk away??? and why would Jesus let them walk away if they misunderstood Him ???
  • OCK on John 6
    Rosalina read on

6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the "BREAD" that I will give "IS MY FLESH", which I will give for the life of the world.
6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus was not speaking about His flesh. Consider this, is the flesh of Jesus of no profit? What about His Incarnation ?How could he speak about his own flesh profiting nothing when he just said over and over (John 6:51 etc)that His flesh is the life of the world just before telling them it profits nothing ? If Jesus was talking about his own flesh when He said the flesh profits nothing, then he would be contradicting Himself ! Jesus declares approx. 10x in John6 the need to eat his flesh and drink his blood and never once indicates his meaning is not literal. By emphasizing to them that what He said about His flesh & blood is "spirit & life" Jesus was dispelling the notion that all they should be concerned with is having flesh to eat for physical life
  • Christine on Genesis 1
I'm confused. I thought God caused a deep sleep to come upon Adam, and then God removed Adam's rib and formed Eve to be his helpmate. There is no mention of this here. ??
  • Sunday Israel Oyedokun on Matthew 6:6
If you patiently read that chapter with understanding, you will find out that Jesus Christ means when you are interceeding for somebody. That is why He said, "for they love to pray standing ....TO BE SEEN BY OTHERS." Then he said' "truely, they have recieved their reward in full."
And what is reward? Reward is a thing that you are given because you have done something good.
So interceeding for people in public means that you want people to speak well of you that you are kind instead of letting God to reward you.
  • Mwoso Derrick on 1 Samuel 17
This is one story in which an extra-ordinary faith was ehibited. We don't need armors, heavy shields, long spears, a great height, and so many voices backing us up, besides, God does not need a maltitude but me and you, the qtn is what do you have in your hands to overcome? we just need a burning faith, that small stone & sling in our hands, a small still and yet gentle spirit in our hearts, a hope that all hard situations come to an end, a peace of mind that when the whole world is barking at you, u can still sing a melody in your heart, a courage that you can overcome, a confidence that you can face whatever comes your way, a grace and salvation that you never bought, and an assurance that HE alone knows the good plans for your life. Be blessing wherever you go and in whatever you do.
  • This law & vow and seems tome a Marriage vow,or an aught, that the daughter has said to the father, can this law and vows means or be also deferent things?
When u make a vow you are making an aught, that means also that you,ve to keep up to your word.
  • OCK on Romans 10:15
Romans 10:15.....And how can people preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? [ who were sent and by whom and with what authority?] "SENT", as used in the Greek language of which the book of Romans was written, is apostello. [apostle]
John 20:21-23.....Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has SENT me, so I SEND you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
[apostalic succession]....Romans 10:15.....And how can people preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? how do Non-Catholic preachers preach if they are not in the line of succession going all the way back to the Apostles???
Why would Jesus go through the trouble of giving the apostles this authority if He preferred the practice of personal confession direct to Himself?
