  • Eutychus on 1 Timothy 2
Vs 5. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." Where then, is the priest? WE are the priests!! "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an HOLY PRIESTHOOD, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, accept to God by Jesus Christ". 1 Peter 2:5, and, "But ye are a chosen generation, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, an HOLY NATION.." 1 Peter 2:9. What a concept!!!
  • Eutychus on 1 Thessalonians 4
"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you. That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing." Have you ever known anyone, who actually STUDIED TO BE QUIET? It is though, the commandment of the Lord. 1Cor 15:37. And we know if we love Him, we will keep his commandments. John 14:15.
  • Eutychus
Vs 9, "for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God." A modern way to say that would be, "We took jobs, in order that you would not have to pay us"..Such a thing today would be considered blasphemous.. Homework for you...What happened after Jesus got off the donkey and went into the temple? Look it up.
  • Eutychus on Luke 15
"And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends". Would to God we had sons like this today. Nor was I a son such as this one. I was the prodigal. How would this world be, if all sons were like this today? The prodigal son returned as well...
  • Eutychus on Luke 14
"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" Let's make a parable with this, after the parable of the sower. "For he that sowed his seed with too little commitment, and with laziness, failed to cultivate, fertilize and care for the freshly planted seed. The plant died..it cost too much to take care of it."
  • Eutychus on Luke 12
Vs. 47, servant beaten with many stripes...Vs. 48, servant beaten with few stripes. Differences of punishment, according to behavior. Hebrews 11:35, "and others were tortured, NOT ACCEPT ING DELIVERANCE; that they might OBTAIN A BETTER RESURRECTION:" Differences of reward...All this makes our casual attitude toward spiritual life, something of a concern. Will we be rewarded big, or rewarded small?
  • Eutychus on Luke 11
Are the saved, filled with the Spirit? Are you, filled with the Spirit? "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his". Romans 8:9...Are you filled with the Spirit? If not, see vs.13, where Jesus said, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him". Precious Promise indeed.
  • Eutychus on Luke 8
Women, "which ministered unto him of their substance." vss 2-3. We see then, how Jesus received assistance from some of his disciples...Question: How did the apostolic team, the disciples and others who traveled about with Jesus, get their sustenance? And too, did the 12 'professionals' receive weekly paychecks? That is just one of the questions we usually never get around to asking...
  • A disciple on Galatians 2
"..it continued to haunt the church for many years..?" Birds of a feather flock together! If the devil can find a weak brother not watching and not filling his house with God, then he will come in and bring seven more worse than himself. And anyone who is likewise bored with hearing any more of the conviction and sound teaching of the Spirit, deserves the same. Take heed lest any man deceive you.
  • A disciple on Malachi 3
Anonymous Mike; I thought what you wrote was wonderful. But why did you conclude by writing, "I only say, never do this unless ur church isn't doing right." ??? Any time we want we can be kind and help others! No one needs to wait and see if their church is doing it first! No church is gonna stand up to answer for you before the Judgment Seat. What about when you're at work or at home?
  • A disciple on Philippians 3
Eutychus; So when Jesus said that He "came not to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill;" does that mean that Paul contradicted or is there something deeper? God hasn't changed His Nature or His Spirit! But the change has to be in us that we henceforth show the workings of the Law and the Prophets through the same Spirit which moved them to write. They're perfected by our walk in truth.
  • A disciple on Philippians 1
Eutychus; What do you think a Saint is? How can one who is not a disciple really be a Saint? Disciple indicates one who has consecrated himself by a course in life, OF DISCIPLINE. To walk in truth with a good conscience and without "stage-playing" can only be performed by grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, by OBEDIENCE, which means DISCIPLINE. Saint means a holy one, which MEANS sanctification.
  • A disciple on Romans 10
Nathan; Show me your faith without works! "And every one that hear these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand.. AND IT FELL: and GREAT WAS ITS FALL!" "..and the dead were JUDGED out of those things which were written in the books, ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS." The devils also believe and shudder; are they going to be saved?
  • Eutychus a saint on Galatians 2
vs1.When Paul, along with Titus, Barnabas (and Luke?) went to Jerusalem about the Jew/Gentile/Church question...the Jews withstood Paul. And while the question was settled for all time, at that time, it continued to haunt the church for many years, even leading to Paul's death. And later, in Revelation chapters 2:9, and 3:9, we see the problem still exists. And even to this day, it remains.
  • Jay de Leon M on John 14
John 14 has always been a powerful shield and comfort all the days of my life ... “Let not your heart be troubled ...” and why should I worry, or be afraid? When I am down and out, I know I will rise and walk with Him who loves me. Even when there are those who may cast me out, I know I am never lost for Jesus has already prepared a home for me “in my Father’s house.” I can never despair, for he
  • Brian on Genesis 1
can anyone tell me what day did sin enter into the world and how?
  • Eutychus on Colossians 4
Archippus is admonished to fulfil the ministry he has been given by the Lord.vs17. Jesus says to us, "For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, AND TO EVERY MAN HIS WORK." Mark 13:34. To every man his work. Are we fulfilling the 'work' we've been given by the Lord? To every one, his work...And ladies, I believe you are included too.
  • Eutychus on Colossians 4
Verse 1...it has been said, that in Jesus' time, Rome's population was 50% slaves. Paul admonishes both master and slave several times in his letters. But nowhere does Paul advocate creating a political party, or charitable organization, to help free the slaves. Could it be, there is that on earth, more important than slavery or its abolition? Could it be that Jesus is Master of both?
  • Eutychus on Philippians 1
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21.

Really? To live isn't watching the widescreen god? To live isn't playing sports? It isn't paying total attention to "devices". To live isn't to spend one's time in an all out drive to be entertained, even when in church?

If all that is living, then you bet! that dying in Jesus is a gain unsurpassed on this very earth...
  • A disciple on Mark 7
Eutychus (cont.); We have to be very careful about what we say, because the things that come from our hearts and innermost thoughts either justify us or condemn us. We have to think about what we say, and WHY we say it. If a man is still wrestling with selfishness and sinning like it was a serious conflict in him or as you call it a rivalry; where is the evidence of grace? Where is the repentance?
  • A disciple on Mark 7
Eutychus; I'm glad you bring up these things; for it is a diabolical technique used by the devil through MANY supposed well meaning Pastors and Teachers these days. But let's examine just exactly it is that you're suggesting. What "rivalry" between the LORD God and the devil? And what "rivalry" for the truly saved and converted Believer who wishes to live with a good conscience toward God and man?
  • A disciple on Mark 10
Having never come from a rich family, or any kind of upbringing that would push me to pursue riches; I've always seen through it to a great extent...it has no pull with me! Even putting that type of thing on a level of "worldliness in general" doesn't it make you feel like you're drying up inside and your heart dead to the Lord and spiritual things and holiness and FAITH? I'd avoid those thoughts!
  • Eutychus on Galatians 6
Ask your class to read this chapter with you, aloud. Then ask them if they noted an apparent (!) contradiction in the text? They won't see it, or take note of it. You won't either, unless you read below...

But look at verses 2 and 5. This is startling evidence that it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal to us, the words we read in the Bible, the WORD of God. We read it, but too often don't see it.
  • Susan on Proverbs 23
"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Consider if you strive all your life to make money and never have time for your kids and family, they will suffer and so will you. Because all the money in the world can not make up for time and love.
  • Ray on Leviticus 18
Hi Everyone, Recently this year, I had a question relating to the sins of nakedness and finally found this chapter online. My reading of the scriptures about not uncovering my kin's nakedness was remembered, but not anything pertaining my neighbors.

I would like to know, 'Is nudity in videos considered a physical act of uncovering someone'? - God only states a physical act of uncovering others...
  • Pete Weimer on Acts 19
What current Asian countries are referred to as Asia in verse 22?
  • Eutychus on Mark 10
Vs 24, Jesus said, "Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!"

Tell me...can one HAVE riches, and yet not TRUST in riches? How hard a thing that would seem to accomplish!
  • Eutychus on Mark 7
Verses 7-15...the age old rivalry between "Commandment and Convenience". It is inconvenient, therefore, we "let it slide". Of course, the question is...Don't that suit God? Does letting it slide please God? Do we do things after God's way, or in a way we hope, we pray, we think, is God's way, for sake of convenience.
  • Eutychus2018 on Mark 3
Do you find it odd, that in vs 9, Jesus asks the disciples to put him into a small ship? Yet there is nothing recorded as to what he said from that ship. And proceeded thereafter to go up into a mountain.

In Chapter 4, vs 1, once again, he is placed into a boat, and preached what I call the "Sermon on the Sea"...

I'm just making note of the peculiarity...mayhap you would know the reason for it.
  • A disciple on Exodus 5
"And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all." "The mills of God grind slow but exceedingly fine." We have to learn how to wait for God's purposes to come to full fruition.
