The house of the Lord. A place of prayer, and "you have made it a den of thieves". Christ uses His authority to show the scribes and elders where the authority lies when it comes to things of the church. So, they ask Him "by who's authority?

They want to know. They confront Christ with the same authority that they believed they had! How soon they had forgotten the ministry of John the Baptist and His authority. How soon they forgotten how the people responded to His death, that a man as this would be martyr, for His faith. How soon these who should have condemned and left off what happened to John!

So, Jesus asks them. Was the baptism off John of heaven or of men? Their response was "we cannot tell". How unfortunate that because of their blindness they would not learn the authority of Christ! Because of fear, because of unbelief they would never hear "by who's power and authority Christ did what He did!

The people knew the baptism of John. They knew His ministry, as he spoke out against king Herod! They knew because of this! That Jesus is and was who He says He is! The people knew! Because of John the Baptist!

The power of the Holy Spirit! This is the same spirit that guides and directs as a whole, people in the truth. This same spirit that guides the church! Answering their question with the same question! How powerful is the word of God!

Guided by the Holy Spirit is the authority you and I have in the church. Speaking the truth in all its purity, in and through the Lord Jesus Christ! Never forget the authority you have! In heaven and earth! Repent and be Baptized

John 20:17 Jesus tells Mary not to hold on ,

He has not ascended, verse 27 he tells

    Thomas to touch his side.

Did he ascend in between these verses?

Or was he on earth 40 days before ascension ?
  • GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT_WHO is the 3rd Person of the Godhead - 2 years ago
Mishael Comment: the Holy Spirt determines what gift is given. Not many people will seek to receive a gift. Thats because they have a shallow knowledge of the 3rd person of the Godhead.

Search all the "SEEK" scriptures. If you really desire something from Jesus, you'll go after it with all of your strength. Learn what it is, how it operates; your Faith to obey and a seekers desire to Receive. Both parties have to yield their wills, to the desire of the Lord.

Yes, he wants to heal his followers, reveal wisdom and knowledge; you give the "rest" of your spirit speaking, to the the blessed rest of the Holy Spirit. You have to be still and silent to hear with your born again spirit.

We have to be SEEKERS OF HIM, Not An "Experience". Spirit, soul, reach out to touch the person of our adoration and worship_Jesus!

"All heaven and earth shall ADORE Him." "Seek and you shall Find".

I know in Whom I have believed, and received. You_Ask and receive.

    Ponder on 1 Corinthians 12: 29-31

Why the Gifts? Chapter 13 is your answer. Love complete. Now you see through a glass darkly

The words of God are "God breathed". These doctorates say, today! That this is only a myth. That these words are mythical. That in fact the whole bible is mythical, It is only a play on words?

Peter says that the scripture is of no private interpretation, that holy men where moved by the holy spirit!

Is "moved" is also mythical? There is nothing mythical about movement.. "the spirit "moved" upon Mary, when she conceived Christ! Was the immaculate conception A "Myth"

Do not be moved by mythical people, you will know them by their fruits. When you read the bible, remember that God is breathing on you. Take His breath, for in it is eternal life

    Repent and be baptized

What will happen to the USA according to The Bible, Revelations? It seems that this country is left out, or burned. If so, are it's citizens doomed, or are there some that are saved. I would love to hear any views or ideas about interpretations on this subject.

    Hi Charles.

The conflict over Israel is not the wrong DNA.

GOD said he will make a nation out of Abraham. Genesis 12:2.

God confirmed a covenant with Abraham and his seed afterwards. Genesis 17:7.

These promises was also confirmed with Isaac and Jacob.

It's the heir of promise given to Abraham.

Down through Isaac and Jacob that is fought over.

See: Galatians 4:29-30. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

The seed that was promised to come that would bless the world is Christ.

Galatians 3:16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

If you study the Genealogy of Christ you will see they're Gentiles in it. Ruth being one. and also Rahab.

God sanctified Israel and gave them the seal of circumcision. "A cutting away the filt of the flesh " Gentiles was considered unclean. but if the wanted to come into the camp and remain they had to be circumcised.

Genesis 17:12. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

    TODAY CIRCUMCISION AVAILETH NOTHING.

    Galatians 5:6.

    Galatians 6:15.

We become that new creature through our new birth in Christ. "Baptism of The Holyspirit ".

    God bless.

This is probably a very stupid question, being 72 yrs. old my memory is not what it use to be, nevertheless I ask anyway.

    Q. Before Jesus came to earth and died for us on Calvary, the Jewish people lived under the law and did sacrifices and offerings and thus was looking to the Cross: what did the Gentiles do. If i remember correctly, Paul brought the message of Salvation to the Gentiles, but before this how were Gentiles Saved

(to Jack G) When considering the character or attributes of God, it is so easy to focus on one thing like love, and wonder why there seems to be a conflct in His nature. How can finite minds understand an Infinite mind? All we as humans see about us is frail, fickle, finite and fallible humans - even the very best of mankind is still subject to those 4 things.

But God is not so as man is.

As regards God being a "loving God", what do you define love to be? Are you using your standard of love to define God's love?

The only way that we can begin to understand the character of God is by submitting to Him and His will. We need to get to know Him through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ and to have that 'born again' experience Jesus spoke about in John 3.

When endeavouring to understand about God's love, we must consider the length the Father went to prove that love through sending His Son to humanity and all that Jesus submitted to for the sake of His Father's will for us.

His love cannot be separated from His justice, or His holiness, or His wrath, or His impartiality, and so on. All of the characteristics and qualities and attributes of God are entwined and cannot be separated as a man separates an egg or dissects all the parts of a cabbage.

He creates physical realities as an expression of His wisdom, and righteousness, and Sovereign power. Some Jewish sages see the Name of God as an attribvute of His Justice - as the Ruler, the Lawgiver, the Judge. As I think about the specfic details mentioned in chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis, those things do fit very much under those headings. God did not at first reveal Himself as the God who loves - though we know that His motiovation was His love - even as it says in 1 Corinthians - If I have not love, then I have become a troublesome disscordant noise (paraphrase); or in 1 Cor 16:14 - Do all things in love. This is how God works as our Father. Always has and always will.

    Hello fellow readers

A week or so ago I posted in a discussion about praying for our nation. I suggested selecting a day to do this monthly. I suggested the first of the month.

So tomorrow is the first and anyone can choose to join others this day to pray for their own nation or another

    nation or people group.

    I had suggested 6:00 a.m.

12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. as times to pray, but people can certainly pray anytime, any day for nations of our world. I am not suggesting people pray all three times. I just wanted to accommodate various schedules.

So, feel welcome to pray with me and others tomorrow,

If people want to enter prayer requests specific for their nation I encourage that they use the prayer request section of this site to post these.

Thanks and may God be mighty in our nations in February!

Some older editions of the Authorized Version use "our's" rather than "ours" (cf 1 John 2:2) "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world (the Old Scofield, the Allen 1952 text used in their Longprimer, etc.).

Was this common usage in Elizabethan English during the 1500's and 1600's? Do you know when it was revised? I didn't realize the original Authorized Version had ever undergone revisions.

    Thank you
