Hmmm! small mistake! what some sins? i don't think our father in heaven considers any sin a small mistake! when i hear s comment like that, i'm like i dont think so! all sin is an abomination to god! you, my friend, can cut it & slice it anyway you want says: the wrath of god is revealed from heaven agaiinst all the ungodliness of men, just look in the book of romans. the book of romans...sounds like god is not too haply with sin according to the apostle paul if you wanna get technical about it!

I enjoy all of the discussions and comments that I read; however, I am only interested in some things at this particular time of my life; and i can research them on the internet over time; but I also want Christian views and then also I thought that over time slowly I would enjoy my remaining years reading comments and slowly learning other favourite things as i was familiar a little bit with when i was a child. Once a man, twice a child; and i have person interest in these things as for example I love the 10 commandments but the problem is i get things mixed up a little; and i don't even know the first one and the most i can find is 9. So, That is my next priority and i was wondering if someone could tell me the first commandments; Is it just Thou shall have no other God before me. or do it continue as I think it do. What is the overall Christian view; and if it is one; what would the tenth one be?

Hmmm! Why all the Big fancy words? Why not a more ELEMENTARY -EXPLANATION...Like just plain old simple English? Not that I don't understand, I'm a very smart person; but in my experience with people, you know, the average person...

They'd be like in the Dark right about now, with all the fancy words ya got going their and the others too! I'm Basically into STREET-MINISTRY...It's like the Apostle Paul said: I BECOME ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN, THAT I MIGHT WIN SOME! Sometimes you might have to sit in the mud Hole with pig and get Dirty too, if ya know what I mean Figuratively-Speaking, but doesn't mean you have to do what they other words you don't have to eat the SLOP, right?

What would Jesus do? Would he have a teddy bear in his home and bow down before it to hug it?

What would God think of my actions? Think and meditate on this for yourselves. Don't tell me what you're thinking.

I already have my answer. Thank you guys for sharing your feedback.
  • Mishael on Teddy Bears - in Reply
Yep. My grandsons teddy bear is in his playroom holding baby teddy.

You're upset, so calm down. Allow rational to prevail.

I've said it before: ask the Holy Spirit to view your belongings WITH you. If He locks eyes on something or cringes; you can decide how to handle that. He knows what we have.

I had to BURN astrology books that were 4 inches wide. I wiped out my bookcase so only a Bible was in it. Non-evil books were donated to a library. Acts 19:19

Idols are mostly, statues of Buddha, zodiac items, violent music, sexual theme things; tee shirts with images that are unholy; let Holy Spirit look at your books and computer.

I had to toss a piece of driftwood that looked like an evil cow head on Monday.

Point is that demons use those objects as permission to hang around them. They're in the house till you force them to leave. The Holy Spirit will protect you also, and you have angels that minister to the heirs of salvation. Are you an heir of Salvation?

We all know what can be considered offensive. As you are able, you'll want to deal with it.

When we get saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, the demons leave for a time. But they come back periodically to see if you really were serious. We're suppose to clean our spiritual house and furnish it with the Bible inside of us; garnish it with praise and gospel music you like. When I first got saved I listened to Petra, Dion, Darrell Mansfield, Carman (went to my church).

My life turned from blackness and thoughts of death to, Light, extreme joy, new friendships at church, new music, I mean it was pure joy! It's been 35 years and my relationship with Jesus is the sweetness of my life. Never dull either. I'm still learning just like everyone in here. I started out in evangelism almost immediately. I still love it.

Try to figure out why you are upset? Is it spiritual or life ganging up on you? Let me know if I can help because I care. I know Jesus cares for you too. No matter what

I agree, that was a good balanced answer from Adam. However, he did introduce 'passive euthanasia', which got me thinking further. How would one then view these three: suicide, euthanasia & murder? I realize that each one is different, pursued for entirely different reasons, but what do you see as the common denominator? I see, & I can be corrected, that the common denominator is "the taking of life", i.e. taking of life that God has given to us.

Maybe from this basic understanding/assumption, one could then formulate an appropriate view from God's Perspective, in regards to: to whose authority do we appeal to; is there any leniency or allowance given to us; and, where does God's control or interest end & the realm of man's responsibility & action begin?

Verse 9 and 10 are the explanation for Revelation 12

Revelation Chapter 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

This was fulfilled when Joseph became a Governor in Egypt.

Ray, I just want to concur with everything Steve B has said even though you may get other comments concerning the obedience to the Laws given to Israel. I have had some backlash in this respect, but I have yet to find any Scripture that tells us that we have to come under the Law, which served to only point to our sins & impossibility to be saved by the keeping of it. Therefore, we have the entrance of our Saviour, Whose death freed us from the weakness & damning nature of the Law & brought us freedom & power to fully obey God through the Life giving Spirit. So please be assured that the 10 Commandments are helpful to know God's Mind & His Will for His people Israel & of course a good rule of thumb for our governments, but for those under the New Covenant (both Jew & Gentile), we have been 'freed from the law of sin & death' (Romans 8:2).

So as a Christian Ray, what does God's Spirit tell you in your heart concerning the worship of God, your Father? If you're hearing the same as I do, we need to humble ourselves before Him, to direct our worship to Him alone, praising Him for the giving of His Son for our sins, & to ask Him to lead & direct our lives in the way of right living. In other words, your worship & your life itself has its focus only on your Father in Heaven. Any objects that you have in the house are just that - objects. Unless, they are there representing images of the Deity which prompt you to look upon them as objects of worship, then these objects are not the cause for sin.

I perceive that your conscience is very sensitive & your desire is to please the LORD in every area of your life. But, at times, we can be too harsh with ourselves, carrying us into the realm of fear & anguish of spirit for what God might think or do; when in fact, it could well be Satan trying to keep a hold on you, trying to rob you of the liberty you have in Christ. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" 2 Tim 1:7.

Melvin, so you claim that the Esau Edomites are of Europe? It was Europeans who built the churches, printed the Bibles and sent missionaries all over the world to the glory of Jesus spreading the gospel?

What has Africa done? Did Africa ever know the gospel until white missionaries told them? Can you explain please

Paul the apostle to the Gentiles went to Greece, not Africa to my knowledge.

D.J., I agree heartily with your general comment that "faith without works is dead". Yet, it is that seed of believing faith which is what the Lord seeks. Indeed, 'our works do follow us' (Revelation 14:13) & that is important, but 'without faith it is impossible to please God' & to just correct Luke 18:8, "when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find FAITH on Earth?"

The writer's intent of 1 Macc 2:52 would normally be read as: 'Was not Abraham found faithful when (God asked him to offer up his son & he was obedient to perform this act because of his faith)? And though a cursory examination of this reveals no error here, the 'measurement' of his faith was not based on that fact (as good as it might have been), but on his faith in God to provide a substitute sacrifice or not even one at all, since God was One Who could be trusted implicitly even when He acts outside our human understanding & reasoning. It was that faith, even to the killing of his son for a reason known only to God (& for maybe many other examples of this in his life), that warranted Abraham's inclusion into the 'Hall of Faith Heroes'.

So, I agree with you, that it took great faith in what Abraham did, maybe some of us would fail even here, but rather, I see Abraham commended for his faith in God in spite of anything that he could have done which clearly was outside his human understanding, calculations & experience. He must have gone through much emotional anguish & faith testing but his faith overrode his human inclinations.

Our works as a result of faith give visible proof to another person of its validity. But does this fact come under the purview of God or rather, on the 'seed' of our faith alone (i.e. at the 'evidence & germination of that seed)? Anyway, just sharing my understanding of this as I've tried to consider all the relevant Scripture over the years. However, your comments are much appreciated & thanks for your time to consider this important matter.

I generally agree with you concerning the Apocryphal books.

Please do not think that I am trolling you or nitpicking. It is absolutely not my intent at all.

I do, however, believe that it is the righteous works of Abraham that built his faith in God and in turn built God's faith in Abraham. (something like- those to whom much is given, much is expected- I forget the Book / verse.

As Jesus states: "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." (Matthew 16:27)

When the Lord and Savior returns, He will happily be looking upon the good works of His faithful servants.

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James 2:26), look at Romans 3:31, Galatians 3:12, James 2:18-20, etc.

Our FAITH is plainly seen through our righteous acts (WORKS) by obeying the LAWS of God (which do not apply to

    usonly.when we don't break them).

You say, CHILDREN DONT NEED TO READ? Hmmm! If your basically saying, what I think your saying...WRONG...WRONG...WRONG...Children do need to read, I Disagree! I'm not talking about a 5 or 6yr.old, I'm talking here about a 12yr. Old girl that was just Lacking a few months from being 13, ok! The Jewish people started their children reading at a very early age! Didn't like the fact, that little girls were restricted pretty much from the study of the SCRIPTURES & the TALMUD and also other teachings! Point is...children should be taught God's word early! In most Hmes you hardly ever see FAMILY-ALTAR-TIME. In my Home, I started studying around 11yrs.old or earlier! I was considered odd & wierd by family members! I'll stop there! My point already made! People wonder why their kids do the way they Hang themselves in their families front yard, while Mommy and the other siblings are taking a Nap! So don't tell me kids don't need to read, or read the Scriptures...

Comments about that which is BORN of the SPIRIT IS SPIRIT Matthew 13 The children of the kingdom that are gonna be born in US via his seed the Word. She brought forth a manchild that is gonna rule all nations. THE WOMAN IS US, WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY, the Child is the H.G. The Child is the Kingdom , the H.G. unless you receive the kingdom as a lil Child ( A BIRTH the H.G.))you will in no wise enter there in. his SEED is the WORD, the same seed that was implanted in Mary is gona be sown in all of US. Who is my Mother he asked ? Them that hear the WORD and keeps it ,Thus we will birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. A SPRITUAL CHILD, THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT ( THE WORD ) IS SPIRIT THATS THE H.G. OUR NEW INNERMAN, tHAT NEW CREATURE . Our fruit unto God as PAUL said, When he was still on the cross he calling for Elijah to come and turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, His children that are gona be born in US. Thats y he said b/c i have spoken these words ( his seeds) sorrows have filled your hearts, SORROWS imply a spritual pregnancy thats when he told em of a woman has sorrrows till the Child comes then her sorrows are turned into joy, then he said i wil see you again he is the Child, th H.G. WHOSOEVER receives one Child in My NAME receives me, in my Name implies he is the father of the Child simply the child is ccnceived by his seed the word,REMEMBER he said the Father wd send the H.G IN MY NAME,THE H.G. being the Child. Thats y the new birth is so important, there is a Child in the new birth. When Isaiah saw the Kingdom coming he says unto us a Child is born unto us a Son is given. thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN. Thats y Jeremiah saw all men in travail and birth pains

I need help understanding Moses ten commandments and what the point is behind each commandment. Cause some of them seem ridiculously difficult to obey in my life. For instance, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

    Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

So I was considering this commandment with all seriousness and I even got rid of my teddy bear which i really love man and is actually super expensive. I threw it in the trash. But then i realized there are even more things in my apartment that are likenesses of things that are in the earth beneath. My cans of beans have likenesses of stuff that's in the earth beneath. I mean beans are in the earth right? My box of peaches have likenesses of peaches. Don't the milk cartons have likenesses of cows? I mean. It makes me want to say G*d damn. Seriously. What the hell? My freaking oats have images of quakers man. This stuff is stressing me out and I'm wondering if there's any point to my worship of the Lord if I don't even keep his commandments.

It is also written in the word that All things are lawful but all things edify not. Did i just throw out my teddy bear for nothing?

    Desperately clinging to the Faith.

I read Psalms to my 7 yr old Grandson and he loves it! He loves it more than other children's books. Especially when he's going to sleep. He also asks me questions about it as we read along.

I do this to lay a foundation of love for Gods Word in his heart. A little seed that will stay there until the "forest fires" of life come.

Did you know some trees in the forest drop their seeds; and they lay dormant till the fires come. Then they open in the heat and begin to grow a new tree after the fire? It just shows me that God loves and makes provision to us in a million wondrous ways!

Turn off Mickey Mouse and Read Psalms to your children.

Without the love of God in our hearts, the nine gifts of the Spirit are meaningless. The Greatest Gift to possess is the power of love. Love is eternal. Worldly love is not the love of God. It tolerates sin( worldly love) and breeds hate and division--even among Christians. Love has no color. Love is kind. vaunteth not itself is puffed up thinketh no evil. Love does not rejoice in iniquity. Real love will not support evil.If I give my body to burned and I do not do it for the love of God --I died for nothing. How many so-called movements have been motivated by anger, resentment, worldly acceptance? Jesus was motivated by love to die for a world that hated him.
  • Jenny on Luke 6
I have finally figured out why we are commanded to do this; because it helps us to forgive. Have you ever noticed that when you pray for someone, you feel love for that person, even if you don't know that person? When we pray for those who have hurt us, or continually hurt us, it's not so their hearts will be changed--although I often pray for that. It's not so they will stop hurting us--although I often pray for that. It's so that the love that we automatically feel for people when we pray for them will heal our hearts and help us to forgive. Sometimes we forgive but the hurt and resentment is still there--praying for the person who hurt you helps your heart heal from the pain.

He (our creator), is no respect of persons, we read from the bible.

so why did he choose to be born a jew?

    then later become a christian?

    this seems a controversial issue!

    for the bible also says...

    i change not!

can one begin to trust anyone who calls himself

    god, who changes not,

then,do a complete flip? to keep what has always

    been his!

and after what he so firmly says! i change not!

even satan would have something to say about this!

and as we also know, he is immortal

    he is perfect,

    so there is

no change from perfection to being a mortal creator

which would, put him in the same bracket as satan, who is

a created being, thus here he lowers himself

(when there is no need to), in not only satan's eyes,

but all mankind, being born again to prove

his ownership! he turns human like us!

he is the owner to all his creation!

never has he lost anything to a created being - satan!

who can never stand up to his maker, owing every

minute to him for his own life, and would surely be

    consumed by the creator's presence!

for the wages of sin is death,

    satan is living only

through his makers gratis, or he should have long

    been dead by now!

i believe my creator is perfect in everyway.

never has he lost anything he is owner of,

not incompetent, untruthful to his word,

lacking a sure foundation, and the ability

to hold on to what is rightfully his!

unaware of the helplessness of man's

suffering, that he took so long to come to

    his aid!

had to leave a place called heaven to show

    who he rightfully is!

then to prove to man he had to lower his

status in order to win back the ownership

of this sad world! and his people!

and then be told by satan...

to bow down to him, and he (our creator)

    would be given this whole!

i also believe my creator knew what he did

back then, even before he created anything

for surely he is an immortal being, knows his

own, and how to manage it all, even satan.

he need never to prove to anyone or answer.
  • Bob Hilt - in Reply on Revelation 18
Barry I am sorry to hear about that. I do believe the Bible teaches the age of accountability is 20 years old.

Exodus 30:14 Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.

One was not required to offer a sacrifice for oneself till they were 20 years old. otherwise the Father was offering on behalf of the family. in other words under the headship of the family.

Numbers 1:3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

A male was not to be drafted into the army until they were 20 years old. Not considered an adult till then.

Numbers 1:18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

A census of the adults was not reckoned until they were 20.

I am of the opinion that she shall grow up in the 1,000 reign of Christ after the tribulation and given a chance to accept or reject the Lord. After all in the kingdom believers do not marry as Jesus said in:

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Yet there are children in the kingdom.

Isaiah Chapter 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

until a Lion can eat straw this has not happened, yet there is a sucking child there, so where do they come from?

    Aborted kids?

It is a very hard way to die. I think that the problem relates to getting away from God and then when you are stressed or confused or on drugs or are partying and then probably stressed and confused, and you have no one to talk to and understand; and you do not know God and Jesus; who do you talk to?

When you have God; You always have someone who understand you; and will always stay with you etc.......

Today people have turned their back on God for the belief and deception of evolution and money also seems to be the Goal; and their is nothing wrong with money if it is used for the right stuff but in this world; man control it and rules it and children starve, get sick, die. live in slums, etc.

Children don't need to read and understand scriptures but they need the basis, God created the world and everything in it. etc.
  • Chris - in Reply on 1 Maccabees 3:48
Kelly, the Books of Maccabees are considered a part of the Apocryphal books, i.e. books, for various reasons, were deemed has having material in them which were inconsistent to the other books written by verified people (e.g. the apostles). These differences were sometimes minor in nature & others sufficiently major so as to add error to history or doctrine. The Maccabees are two of such books. For example, in 1 Macc 2:52 it says: "Was not Abraham found faithful when tested, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness", which tells us that Abraham was found righteous based on his works (i.e. the offering up of Isaac as a sacrifice). Whereas, Romans 4:3 says, "For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness", telling us that it was by his faith in God (belief that God would somehow provide Himself a sacrifice) that made him righteous before God. Quite an error.

Another example: in 2 Macc 12:41-45, the reading of it shows that (a) Judas collected two thousand drachmas of silver & sent it to Jerusalem for a sin offering & to make atonement for the dead - and this then leads in to the RC doctrine of purgatory - all vehemently opposed to Holy Scripture (Hebrews 9:27: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement"). There is no intermediate place of suffering & purification for entrance into Heaven.

So for this & many reasons, all who are intent to learn the Truth & hear what the Spirit of God is saying to them, should read from the Holy Bible (KJV preferred) so as to avoid believing error. Too many people have been ignorantly led to believe anything they hear from the pulpit. It is our responsibility to guide them to the Light & Truth that they might not believe a lie.
