I am new to studying/learning the Bible . I am doing a study on pagan holidays , so I can tell my family that I will no longer participate in Halloween, pumpkin carving , giving out candy ,

No longer decorating for Christmas or buying Christmas gifts,

No Easter gifts to my grandchildren , which sometimes I did .

Any suggestions would be appreciated on these topics of concern

I need to be gentle loving but wise !

    Thankyou

I would recommend reading Romans 14:5. If you feel "convicted" go with your convictions.

    Haggai has some beautiful verses.

    Haggai 2:3 - 9

"Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do you see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?

Yet be strong , O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:

According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.

    For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts."

The glory of God, the prince of peace has shaken the world and was presented as a gift in Bethlehem. He, Jesus filled the house and overcame the darkness of Egypt. There will no other house on dry land or sea except the one Messiah, Jesus Christ at his planting. He will come again in the harvest and will harvest His Olive Tree as He has already prepared the Work.

Please explain 2:6. Is God's name at the marriage of the lamb and bride Ishi?
  • Chris - In Reply - 5 months ago
Hi Inajermyn. Are you referring to Hosea 2:16,17 & also to Revelation 19:7-9? If so, we're not told in the Revelation whether the LORD God is referred to by a special Name (e.g. Ishi = Husband). We do know that ever since Jesus, God's Son, came to Earth to secure our redemption through His Blood, the LORD has always been referred to as Abba = Father, amongst those in that new relationship to Him (of Jew & Gentile).

God was once considered by Israel as 'Baali' (Owner), though the LORD longed that Israel would turn away from idolatry & turn back to Him, their Husband (Ishi). How that relationship with Israel pans out post-Cross is difficult to say, for the Scriptures are clear that only those who 'call upon the Lord (Jesus) will be saved' ( Romans 10:13) - and these people are those who call the LORD, their Heavenly Father, even as He is the Father of Jesus Christ, and we in Him, His Body, the Church.

    Looking for your input.

In Ezekiel chapter 38 the battle of the Magog, the question I have is in Ezekiel 39, 9.

When is clearly understood that the battle is most likely going to happen at the end of the first half of the tribulation, 3 1/2 years of peace.

Explain verse 9 of chapter 39, and when Christ returns after the battle of Armageddon, with all his saints, he cleanses the Earth.

So, if the fire that he is talking about is for 7 years after the Magog battle, there's only 3 1/2 years left in the tribulation.

    Any feedback is welcome.

    Hi Jeff Mooneyhan,

I will give you my understanding, If we look at the end of Rev. 12 after Satan is cast down to earth, in the original text Satan is standing on the sand of the sea when the Beast in Rev. 13 arises, in Rev. 11:7 and Rev. 17:8 this is the bottomless pit. He is given only 42 months, Rev. 13:4-8, that is 1260 days or 3 1/2 years, this is all the time this beast has been given. If we look at Rev. 19:11-16 we see the second coming of Jesus, the first resurrection and the vials of wrath start Rev.16.

This is before the battle and In Rev. 19:17-19 an angel cries out for all the fowls to gather themselves unto the supper of the great God, to eat the flesh of the men who will be destroyed at Armageddon, this matches with Ezekiel 39:17-21. The beast and false prophet call the ten kingdoms to gather after the 6th vial is poured out Rev. 16:13-16 then the last vial is poured out in the air Rev. 16:17-21.

Also, we see the beast and the false prophet, and the 10 kingdoms or countries are who will make war with the Lamb, Rev. 17:12-14.

In Ezekiel 39:9-15 this is them cleaning up after this battle, and the beginning of the 1000-year reign of Jesus and setting up the kingdom.

Ezekiel 38:22 may be Rev. 16:21 and Ezekiel 39:6 may be Rev. 20:9.

This is a short view of my understanding may it help, and others may give a different understanding, prophecy is hard, and some things are yet to be revealed, we just need to watch and be ready and stand firm in our faith.

    God bless,

    RLW

God's LOVE has to be the greatest things of all time. The devil tries he's hardest to separate us from God and the love he has to offer but always bare in mind that it will never happen because he's love is sufficient and everlasting.

I hope and pray that I..........and all of you will begin to see yourselves the way Jesus Christ sees us. We are perfected in him.

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

    Brothers in Christ

We know that GOD CURSED the Earth because disobedience of man,and warned him, saying:"Thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to thee;...in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of thy life;In the sweat of thy face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground;out of it wast you taken:for dust you art,and unto dust shall you return.

As above described, the terrible picture after GOD cursed the Earth, what our GOD meant by His words or even revealed when He said of the existence of the world of Devil full of"Thorns and thistles"? Well, with the proliferation of human beings after Earth had been CURSED by Him,nations would emerge or be formed on Earth, and would be like"thorns and thistles".GOD said: Numbers 33:52-55

55If ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you;then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

52Ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

53And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein:for I have given you the land to possess it.

    Joshua 23:11-16

11Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the Lord your GOD.

13Know that the Lord GOD will no more drive out any of these nations from before you;but they shall be snares and traps unto you,and scourges in your sides, and THORNS in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the Lord your GOD hath given you.

    Rev.11:15&12:12

15The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; He shall reign for ever and ever.

12Therefore rejoice,ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them.Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea!for the Devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

    Hello SLLockart,

Chris has given you the verse in Revelation. There is also a verse in Deuteronomy 4:2 that speaks similarly about adding to the words the Lord has given through Moses or to take away or diminish them.

    ( Proverbs 30:5-6)

    ( Rev 22:18-19)

( Jer 23:36) perverted is #2015; it means "to change".

( Ps 12:6-7) 6) "The words of the LORD are pure words" pure is #2889; it means unadulterated, uncontaminated, sound.

    7) "Thou shalt keep them O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever". preserve is #5341, it means to guard, to protect, maintain, obey.

( John 14:23-24) "If a man love me, he will ((keep my words)) and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him".

This verse is telling us if we don't keep His words the Father and Jesus will not come unto us and abode with us.

Many on this site do not keep His words.

His words are pure words preserved for ever in the King James Bible, ((FOR EVER))

They are not preserved only in the manuscripts, ( 2 Tim 2:15) tells us "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". We are told to study, and rightly divide the word of truth.

Can we study and rightly divide the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts today? No we can not!

His words are pure ( Proverbs 30:5) His words are Alive ( Heb 4:12) His words are Inspired ( 2 Tim 3:16) which is God breathed ( 2 Pet 1:19-21) His words are sound doctrine, His words are not perverted.

Modern versions are perverted words of men ( Jer 23:36) they have all "changed" the words of the living God!

It is very important to see this Truth, modern versions are doctrines of devils ( 1 Tim 4:1)

Modern versions are not sound doctrine ( 2 Tim 4:3-4)

I pray this is helpful to any who trust modern version bibles.

    Blessings!

Yes this is very helpful. I am just learning this site so I may be late in response and I am also not always online but I do read my Bible KJV daily. So this is very helpful to me to learn more and more from.

Thank you for taking the time out to post all the scriptures to me, so I too can read them and they can help me to understand the Word.

    God Bless!! You too.

You are very much welcome! Its good to have true believers in the True Word of God on this site!

Many here see the KJB as just another translation, sadly.

Hello SLLockhart. I believe the verse that is closest to what you seek is in Revelation 22:18,19. Although, these verses specifically relate to this particular book of prophecy (The Revelation) that no one might add or take away from the words of the Book or else suffer under God's Hand, the Truth would apply to all of Scripture. And 2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us that these Holy Scriptures are "given by (the) inspiration of God", or as in the Greek, "God-breathed"; which clearly shows us that the power & truth of God's Words are given by His Spirit - 'breathed' upon those writers, they being moved by Him to pen these words for all who read or hear them. This then becomes a very serious matter in the reading, understanding, & correctly 'dividing' of God's Word, without forcing any human input which can only bring corruption to it.
