A friend referenced this verse indicating that when the sons of God (i.e., Job) came to present themselves before the Lord ... and Satan also came along.
Might you know where this meeting took place? Was it in Heaven?
My church buddy says that the meeting may have taken place in Heaven and that if Satan came along, then Satan has access to go to Heaven. Is this true?
In addition, she says that if Satan is present in Heaven or when he has access to Heaven, and He is evil and full of sin, then does that mean Heaven is no longer a sinless place where no evil exists?
I need to clarify this line of thinking because that's new to me.
In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul uses the word natural to refer to someone still in his original (sinful) state. The Greek word psuchikos ("natural") can be defined as "animal," as opposed to "spiritual." Natural men are those who are occupied with the things of this material world to the exclusion of the things of God. They are led by instinct rather than by the Spirit of God. They intuitively choose sin over righteousness. They are the "pagans" Jesus refers to in Matthew 6:32 who only seek after the things of this world.
The supernatural work of God is to change the natural man into a spiritual one. When a person trusts Christ, God exchanges what is natural (received from Adam) for what is spiritual (received from Christ). "As in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive" ( 1 Corinthians 15:22). The Christian life is, therefore, a supernatural one. We do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit ( Romans 8:1). Interesting find.
Back to 1 Corinthians 1:18. For the preaching of the cross is TO THEM THAT PERISH FOOLISHNESS; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
If you notice, them that perish doesn't have much to say about the preaching of the cross! Why? Because it's foolishness to them.
To us which are saved our Hope, Redemption, and Salvation is tied to it,
Here's how the natural Man/Tares voids out the productivity of the cross in their false teachings.
God Love is on display when I slew his only begotten Son in our place, So there must be a damnable consequence to those who don't accept "This sacrifice"
He'll would have to be a real place for those who don't receive Christ. or the Love of God on display would be in vain!!
They say there is no Hell and all will go to Heaven by fire!
They replace the productivity of the cross with the fire prescribed for Satan as the means by which we are saved!
Yes, I was think of that very Scriptural text when I posted my thoughts about how casually we can become when approaching God. We all can learn to be more reverent before Him and also to take time to prepare ourselves better for such intimacy. God is not like us. We are created a bit like His image, but He is far, far more than we could ever imagine in His perfection, glory, and greatness. Maybe some of us need a bit of "Sinai" once and awhile to correct our view of God as we approach Him on "Zion"'.
I was actually thinking of those very verses when reading this text in Exodus. God is very gracious to us. He could thunder from heaven to us, as He did to the Israelites when He descended onto the mountain. But we have a perfect high priest, leader, and mediator in Jesus who took away our sin and separation from God and covers us with His righteousness so that we can approach God under grace and not judgment.
Brother Giannis, thank you for your comment. As a young person attending 'Church', I was taught that Jesus was always in Heaven (from the beginning), a part of the Trinity (therefore in spirit form), & was sent to Earth to become Man to fulfil God's Plan. I think you're saying the same thing but adding that since God's Word came to the people, Jesus was also called the "Word of God".
Ordinarily, I would agree with that view. But in studying the Scriptures, the following convinces me to believe differently.
John 1:1 (He was never known by this Name Jesus - only that the Word existed within the Godhead, just as the Holy Spirit exists).
John 1:14 (that Word was given flesh - the Word's Form was changed from Spirit to flesh).
Matthew 1:21 (that humanly birthed Babe would be called Jesus - a Name not used or known before in Heaven but now given to this new Life on Earth, coming as 'Yahweh is Salvation').
Luke 1:35 (the first title used of this Babe: "The Son of God". I don't find this revealed anywhere else in the Scriptures (OT) that the Son of God existed in Heaven (i.e. as a Son) - He only became a Son through His Incarnation).
Hebrews 1:1,2 (as God's Word was given to Israel via the prophets, so through His Son now God speaks to them & us. The same Word of God: once to the prophets, now the Word made flesh to speak, not as a prophet, but as the Son of God, God's Word in the flesh).
From all this, I don't deny the existence of Jesus in Heaven before the incarnation, but don't find evidence that He was called Jesus (in Heaven) or functioned as He did on Earth while in Heaven. Rather, I'm compelled to accept "there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" ( 1 John 5:7). The Word that always was within the Godhead is now Jesus seated as the Lord in flesh at His Father's right Hand.
In 1 Corinthians 2:6-16, the natural man is compared to the spiritual man and the carnal man. Verse 14 says, "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. This verse does not define the natural man, as such; rather, it uses the term to describe one who does not understand God's words and thoughts. The one who can understand God's words is a "spiritual" man (verse 15).
Dr. Henry Morris, in the New Defender's Study Bible, gives this comment on verse 14: "The 'natural' man, still unsaved, cannot appreciate spiritual truths. He must first understand Christ's atoning sacrifice for him, but even that is 'foolishness' to him (1:18) until the Holy Spirit Himself convicts him of its reality ( John 16:7-11)." Basically, the "natural" man is one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit" ( John 3:6).
Let's look at some other uses in the Bible of the word natural. In Romans 11:21 we read, "For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you." In 1 Corinthians 15:44-46, "It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, then there is also a spiritual body. However the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual." Ezekiel 44:31 speaks of a natural death. Daniel 10:8 speaks of a natural color. James 1:23 speaks of a natural face, and James 3:15 states, "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, "natural", demonic."
A number of times during His earthly ministry, Jesus responded to questions with, "It is written" (7 times in Matthew, 4 times in Mark, 5 times in Luke, 1 time in John). In the Bible, we also read of many time when Jesus quoted the truths of God from the Hebrew Scriptures.
Satan doesn't dispute whether it was written or not. He tries to redefine the word of God.
as seen here.
Genesis 3:4-5. and
Matthew 4:3-7, 10.
Notice every rebuke came from Jesus was by the written scripture.
3) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4) But he answered and said, IT IS WRITTEN, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. ( Deuteronomy 8:3.)
5) Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. ( Psalms 91:11-12.)
7) Jesus said unto him, IT IS WRITTEN again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
( Deuteronomy 6:16.)
10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for IT IS WRITTEN, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. ( Deuteronomy 6:13. Deuteronomy 10:20.)
it's interesting The Lord and Satan goes back and forward over what is written.
They both took the scripture literally! The issue is how to apply it.
With Eve the Devil tactic was to misinform.
With the Lord the Devil tried to misapply scripture.
When the enemy can't remove the scripture he set tares amongst us to distort the ministry in every way possible.
NOTE:
The notion that there is no Hell and there is no Satan comes from the same Evil source that told Eve she shall not surely die.
Here is something to consider about when the Fig Tree Generation will begin and end.
While it is true that Israel was proclaimed to be a nation by President Truman on May 14,1948; it is important to realize that Israel was not considered to be a sovereign state by the rest of the world until the United Nations recognized Israel to be a nation one year later on May 11, 1949.
Therefore, the Fig Tree Generation did not formally begin until May 11, 1949, which would mean the year Christ will return to earth to rule for 1,000 years would be 2029.
We can look for the 7 year tribulation to begin later this year in 2022, more than likely in September around the Feast Of Trumpets (at the end of the current Shmetah Cycle), or in October around the Day Of Atonement.
Your right the true church are those who are His not because we go to a certain church . So true time to study the Word on your own with God's precious Holy Spirit instead of believe ing men's doctrines.Time is short The Father is seeking the true worshipers it a heart condition.
Incidentally, the notion that an idol is nothing in the world is preposterous considering the following information:
"...there arose no small stir about that way. For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth." Acts 19:23-27
I think that as long as this KJBO Site is on the Web, it will ensure it remains true to God's Word, publishing it without error or alteration, & nothing amiss will take place. Keep coming back.
Thanks Giannis. The only difference I see between the two verses is that in Acts 10:13, Luke is describing the account and in Acts 11:7, Luke records Peter saying those words. Otherwise the words spoken are identical. Maybe there is a difference seen when, in which 'person' the statement is given, which is not easily understood by a non-Greek reader. As always, appreciate your knowledge.
When you said; "if we are not willing to clear our minds as if we know nothing and pray to God through Jesus for the Holy Spirit to show in the scripture the truth. We will not hear because our ears are not open to hearing the truth, we have already decided the answer on our own."
1 Corinthians 3:18-19. came to mind.
"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."
The natural man receiveth not the things of God.
What we have here is the attack on the word of God concerning the things of God!
Thank you for your thoughts Richard...and they're good ones.
I have read some time ago that good, 100 percent grape juice has the same health benefits as wine!
Alcoholism is so prevalent, and destroys not only the imbibers, but often, their whole families! "Lead us not into temptation" is what the Lord ask us to pray - and let's not throw ourselves into temptation by even toying with those things that so easily become a snare!
I too long to have that heart, Gigi, that says "No!" to self, and "YES!" to our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.
One of my favorite books (other than the Bible of course! :) - is John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress." I've read it at least 16 times, and find treasures in it, and much encouragement each time.
In one portion of the book, Christian and his companion are discussing "leaving all for Christ', which is another form of "dying to self." He makes this simple but true observation: It is much harder to REALLY 'leave all for Christ' than what we think! Just when we think we've 'lain it all down' - the Lord points out something in our lives that we haven't relinquished at all!
Yes, it's a daily process. We can't die today for what we may have to die to tomorrow. So may the Lord grace us, one day at a time, to be living sacrifices unto Him!
Thank you for the reminder that we are to die daily, as Paul stated. as believers we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to empower us to do this each and every time. Thank You Lord! It is a good thing to be reminded every day by Him to put to death our old sinful nature and let the new life of the Spirit live forth in us. Confession, repentance, and godly action empowered by the Spirit is the daily calling of each believer. I pray that my heart will be more and more softened by the Holy Spirit to live this way always.
Why does the Catholic says "one holy Catholic Church"?
This is very deceiving church. Catholic is so bothersome and blasphemous. Do they really think they can deceived?
Catholic use this verse as a deceiving verse for their church existence: Matthew 16:18, which the Catholic erroneously misinterpreted the usage to begin with.
The following verses clearly says Who is holy. Many church got to stop deceiving people since we are in the last days. When are they going to tell the truth?
Does anybody here had stood up and told the leader of the church to tell only the truth from God? The true believers knows the work of the devil.
1 Samuel 2:2 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
Revelation 15:4 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
This puts us all on edge; between total paranoia and understanding security in Christ. The key; I believe is the Lord trimming away or pruning us as He chastises all He loves. Those who are unregenerate are only enjoying the benefits of the vine; not producing fruit. They are unwilling to submit themselves to having the "dead" parts of their lives to be extracted so further growth can ensue. This compares to the cares and riches of this world choking out productivity. We are tested and should test ourselves to see if we are in the faith.
Admittedly; it is hard to fathom being part of the vine and yet risking being cut off and burned with eternal judgment. Such appears to indicate tares among wheat. Such branches also are a deadweight to the body and an offense. To truly be born again we are adopted children; and hence the needs of others should predominate above our own. HIS desires must become ours; it is not our demands upon the source of our life that are to be proudly proclaimed. The fruit is FROM Him; not our own filthy rags; and it is to benefit the Kingdom not our own agendas. Those out for "filthy lucre" are receiving their "rewards now"; those fading flowers whose life soon is to pass into darkness as a vapor who use Christ for their own stomachs; so to speak. Obedience is better than sacrifice; and any sacrifice started with His own at the cross; and we are to be dying daily crucifying the flesh. We may be credited because of a faithful witness and the suffering in our own lives leading to spritual rewards; but it is His life within us and that alone that allows that to flourish. God chooses who He will save on His terms; not ours.
You have spoken well here on this topic. Thanks for your insightful points. It stirs my heart to be more sensitive to the needs before me. I tend to ask a person who asks me for money if they are hungry and to accompany me into a restaurant and choose their meal or ask what they would like and go and buy it for them. That way, I know that they have food and drink for that day (what their body really needs).

I never said that Job was not and actual event.
Is not our bible the WORDS of God.
Was not Job a Prophet, Prophesying.
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy CAME NOT in the old time by the will of men: but holy men of God spake as they we moved by the Holy Ghost.
Job 27:1 And Job continued HIS PARABLE, and said
Job 13:27 ...thou settest a print on the heels of my feet.

This is a good word for me today.
Good Morning,
Thank you for the reminder that we are to die daily, as Paul stated. as believers we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to empower us to do this each and every time.
You are exactly right WE DIE daily.
Our mind of flesh being renewed to the mind of Christ.
We can only come to the TRUTH of the NEW BIRTH, it happens at the death of this body.
There is ONLY ONE LIFE, CHRIST, and Christ is God.
Our body of flesh dies, LIFE (God) continues, we switch BODIES.
1 Corinthians 15:38 ...and to every SEED; HIS (Christ is the SEED) own body. Seed always begats the same seed.
It is beyond our mind of flesh to comprehend that Christ can live in us, yet can also appear as a man walking in flesh.
This is what we can look forward to.
Christ said that where he is we will be also; Christ is IN CREATION bringing creation to TRUTH and LIFE.
We as priest (with the body of Christ) in HIS Kingdom, the likeness of Christ, will be IN CREATION bringing creation to TRUTH and LIFE.
Revelation 10:11 ....thou must prophesy again (in your new body) before many peoples and nations, and tongues, and kings.
Go ye into all the world teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. This is only possibly in the next AGE (world).
Read and study: Isaiah 66:18-24 and Jeremiah 51:19-33 and Revelation 2:26-27
These are prophecy about the Sons of God, we not a perfect Son of God till we leave this AGE (world).
Hebrews 12:23 ...... and to the spirits of just men made PERFECT.
God Bless YOU!
