Dear Mark , and yet , after telling so very many people to keep quite about the miracles and healings and who he actually is , Jesus chooses to tell this Samaritan woman , exactly who he is , John Ch 4 V 26 . Why might be do that ?

I've never run across a verse like that. Was there something you had in mind about that possibility.

Now I have a cockatiel as a pet. A year ago her cockatiel mate died in a ice storm that lasted 10 days. I got her a parakeet and they tried to kill each most of the time. He was given to a lonely neighbor and she is very happy to have him :D

Same species know somehow, they are a match; no matter what color. They will still make babies. When feathered friends are happy they play and sing.

Dear Bro Dan , may God bless you , I always enjoy your posts too . What is the Kingdom of Heaven / the Kingdom of God ? There are very many verses that pertain to it , I'm on my way out the door so I only have time for one : Acts Ch 3 V 29+30 . Where was David's throne ? I'm so sorry I don't have time now but I promise I shall do better in about 12 hours smiley face , watch this space , much love in Christ .

If you meant Saul of Tarsus? And Apostle Paul? One and the same person.

Saul killed Christians until that day on the Damascus Road, when he was confronted by Jesus Christ. It's a great read in the Book of Acts.

Yes Carol, Jesus knew other languages. In Mark 5:41, Jesus was using His oft-spoken language of Aramaic (sometimes referred to as Syro-Chaldaic), the then language of Palestine. You can see other uses of this 'tongue' in: Mark 7:34 (Ephphatha); Mark 14:36 (Abba); Matthew 5:22 (Raca), are some examples.

Dear "Jamie", See here it is not taken out.

    Psalms 83:18

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

    Isaiah 12:2

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

    Exodus 6:3

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

    Isaiah 26:4

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

In this context, it is a strong word. In KJV you have what is right. Some creeds have their own printing presses and can therefore make / raise / shorten as they wish. This will be confusing for those who read it.

My experience is KJV is the best. Sometimes i hear readings from other publishers and the words are unfortunately mixed so that even if i read in my KJV there is total confusion. My advice to you is to read a translation that you drop and stumble upon the words / settings and the like. Only KJV :)

Hope the answer can help you. For the Bible is meant to have a word that is understandable. Jehovah is also used by the Witnesses. I have no prior knowledge there. But maybe someone else has? Know that they do not believe in the trinity between God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Stay safe in Jesus name, love u in Christ. John 7:10_24

    Chris,

    I understand your point. Thanks.
  • Chris - In Reply on John 3 - 1 year ago
Very true GiGi & appreciated. Though I see it as taking the understanding of the "Word of God" to the next level, the tri-aspect of God's Being, i.e. learning more about this Word that was made flesh, as also seen in the Qur'an. If Mohammad (the OP) was moved to enquire further, if indeed his enquiry about the meaning of 'begotten' was leading him to query an 'impossibility' with God, then you & I could be constrained to share more with him. But I can't ascertain how far he wants to enter into this important matter - maybe just simply for the definition of 'begotten'. We shall see.

    Marke:

This is a Prophecy, and it contradicts your understanding of the parable of Lazarus and the rich man.

Isaiah 66:23 And it shall COME TO PASS, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall ALL FLESH come to WORSHIP before me, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 66:24 And they (all flesh, worshipping God) shall go forth and look upon the carcases of the men (themselves) that have transgressed against me; for their (all flesh, worshipping God) worm shall not die, neither shall their (all flesh, worshipping God) fire be quenched, and they (all flesh, worshipping God) shall be an abhorring to all flesh (themselves).

Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man which is a worm?

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

    God Bless YOU!

    Hello Chris,

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

Here it can be confusing to some, But it is distinguishing the Word as being with God (another person of the Godhead) and also that this Word (another person of the Godhead) was also God.

    Hello Paul

Instead of saying we can't have grace without faith, I would say we cannot have faith without grace. Faith is the gift that comes from unmerited grace bestowed upon us who God foreknew are to be saved. We don't produce faith in order to receive grace, faith is produced by being graced by the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit which enables us to believe.

In today's terms, to be a 'surety' for someone, is to be their 'guarantor': as in Proverbs 6:1. In other words, you are prepared to stand by the person in case they default in payment, by putting up the money yourself. A very risky position to take - many have had their 'fingers burned', by doing so.

It's the prophets of the people that are cause to prophecy lies.

When I read this chapter it seems to be a figure of when a minister of the gospel (star) becomes carnally minded in his teachings (falling from heaven to earth). Then smoke from the forces of Satan choke the life giving air and sun. Following the choking of truth comes locusts (false prophets). Nahum 3:17 would reference similar figures. I could go on..... but think spiritual figures of speech when you read Revelation and see it you see things differently. Chapter 8 when waters get polluted living organisms die. Sounds like new testament teachings.

Hello Dora. We do see the Book of Jasher mentioned a couple of times in the Bible ( 2 Samuel 1:18 & Joshua 10:13), but as far as I can gather, the original writings have long been lost. Now, there have been several productions/translations made, & especially a false one in the 1700s AD, but all these have been highly suspect.

Reasons given: since the original manuscripts/copies aren't available, those who included certain books in the Bible were hesitant to include a book that only found proof in spurious writings. From the productions that are available, certain errors were found, being incompatible with the rest of Scripture (just as the OT & NT apocryphal writings were treated): chronological errors (i.e. matters of dates of writing or events) & suspect events (e.g. snow falling pre-Flood).

Some new NT writers also took quotes from extra-biblical sources (e.g. Paul quoted from a Cretian prophet (Epimenidus) in Titus 1:9-14; & also in Acts 17:28 (a Grecian poet); Colossians 4:16 (epistle from Laodicea - not found); 2 Timothy 3:8 and Jude 9 (from the Assumption of Moses - not included); and many more. So we see that references were made to certain 'other' books (whether true of false in content), but done so to strengthen the argument & to also gain a 'listening ear' from those opposed to the Gospel. I've often quoted from the Qur'an when speaking to Muslims, not to give support to their book, but to help gain their 'ear' to the declaration of Christ who is perfectly understood only in the Bible. Some may disagree with this, but it is an acceptable method (as seen in the Bible) when sharing across religions & cross culture.

So, the Book of Jasher was not intentionally hidden from us, but it was deemed unworthy to be included in the Bible, since the original production was not available, & the only ones available were spurious. But if deemed necessary, one could quote from it (& others) prudently to assist & strengthen the discussion.

Yes my friend anointing the people from the east is also fulfilment of GOD'S promise to Abraham .Israel unfortunately always defile GOD . HENCE he allowed Nebuchadnezzar to destroy Jerusalem and it's temple bringing desolation to Jerusalem GODdoes not want hence inspired Cyrus to order Israel to build the 2nd temple. But GOD is very frustrated with the way do the task sending to many prophets before they complete the task. In Ezekiel 43 it is well prophesied.read it carefully and you will that all of it manifests

Now the 2nd temple was burned down by the Roman and the JewsAnd Israel was killed ALL OF THEM because Rome hope that GOD AND HIS people WILL NEVER BE REMEMBERED IN JERUSALEM : Rome put the Greek people to act as Jews to hide this hideous MASSACRE . Rome doesn't want GOD TO BE KNOWN TO THE WORLD,SEEING JESUS CHRIST RISE FROM THE DEAD

But GOD WANT WORSHIPPERS IN JERUSALEM HENCE THE PEOPLE FROM THE EAST.

May you be guided it's so tragic.

Ronnette, please be careful when you say you can't find a true church. Sometimes we can over evaluate people and because of bad examples label a church good or bad. Sometimes when visiting church we might not get a chance to know people more deeply or people are not experiencing the same things we are going through and judge they are not in tune with the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful for the many faithful believers within my church body . The older I get the more I appreciate the different gifts God has placed in the body (as it has pleased Him).

Paul, thanks so much for quoting verses that get passed over so easily because we live in an entitlement society. Others verses to go along with the ones you quoted. Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." When James says "faith without works is dead" he means dead for salvation. He starts the discourse about faith and works saying can faith alone save him.

    Brother Alex:

I believe both you and Suze are right.

At Christ Resurrection, David received the promise of immortal life, he has become the SEED, now he is planting SEED as is Christ.

David the SEED has no need of a PLACE called (literal) HEAVEN, man doctrine.

Isaiah 6:13 But yet in it (the land, earth) shall be a tenth, and it (the tenth, the offering to the Lord in righteousness) shall return (first resurrection), and shall be eaten: as a teil tree and as an oak, whose substance IS IN THEM, when they cast their leaves, the HOLY SEED shall be the substance thereof.

Revelation 22:2 ....and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Do we agree that the OLD SAINTS were raised with Christ, let me know if we don't, and we will look to the scriptures for the answer.

    God Bless YOU!
