This is the Bible's interpretation of the parable: The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Romans 8 Tells us how to be delivered from the body of this death. Romans 7 is not someone that is led of the Spirit. Romans 8:13,14 sum up the two chapters For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8 is what it means to be born again, converted or transformed by the renewing of your mind.

    John 7:34

Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

    John 7:36

What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

    John 8:21

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go [heaven] ye cannot come.

Comment: only one of the thieves at the cross asked Jesus's forgiveness; to whom Jesus said, today you will be with Me in Paradise.

Adam love ya ...But I think Jesus was preaching OSAS... John 10 : 29 kjv ...When he said my FATHER that gave them to me is GREATER then ALL and no man is able to pluck them from my Fathers hands....And thats y i believe in OSAS

.....And absolutely nothin can make his blood the Cross of none effect...While we were yet sinners Christ died for all of us

.....Its not our conduct that keeps us...Its what he did at calvary that keeps us ...The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death....The law cd not keep them but God sent his son to die on the cross that whosoever believeth on him will neva die...

..... Romans 8 : 3 kjv ..What the law cd not do in that it was weak thru the flesh God had to send his son to condemn sin in the flesh....Thus its what Jesus did at Calvary that keeps us...Thus OSAS is very true....Unless you are gona make void the CROSS HIS BLOOD ETC....Even in the O.T. God said when i see the blood i will pass over you....Thats y OSAS is true...Its simply the result of his blood....The CROSS that new Covenant in his blood ...Thats y the scrip.is saying the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law OF SIN AND DEATH...ok

Hi Jose. I can't speak of 'other Bible translations' as they may add extra words to give a particular verse an 'appropriate' meaning. But in the KJV, we read it as given in Hebrew: "the noise (thunder) is declared, the cattle also concerning the rising (storm)." Words in brackets are assumed from the previous text.

If translations are assuming 'God's Indignation', then it's probably how they read the chapter spoken by Elihu. Though, verse 33 on its own, seems to show that God speaks to man even through nature (the light, clouds, thunder, darkness), even the cattle are alerted.

The name, Elias, is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew, Eliyyah (or, in English, Elijah).

Hi Bukola. Some of those would be as follows:

    Noadiah ( Nehemiah 6:14); Hananiah (Jeremiah chapter 28); Ahab & Zedekiah ( Jeremiah 29:21); Barjesus/Elymas ( Acts 13:6); the false prophet in Revelation 16:13; 19:20; 20:10.

Hello Victor. The passage of Scripture you're referring to ( Isaiah 44:26) is part of God's pronouncement (through Isaiah) of the future restoration of Israel (part of this prophecy is from verse 21-28; otherwise you will need to read all of chapters 43 & 44 to get the complete discourse).

God begins to identify & confirm His people, that He is a God Who can blot out Israel's transgressions, but also has the power to accomplish all that He Wills (vv21-23). This God Who created the heavens & earth & filled them (v24), also can bring to nought the works of the diviners, liars & those who think themselves to be wise (v25). And this is the God that will do all that He has spoken through His servants & messengers; and this Word is His promise that Jerusalem & the cities of Judah will be built & inhabited again and the barren places will be raised up again (i.e. after their captivity to Babylon) (v26).

This God will do through Cyrus king of Persia (after he conquered Babylon). Even though an enemy to the Jews, God will use Cyrus as His Instrument to return the Jews back to their homeland & for the rebuilding of the Temple as well. You can read more of this in Isaiah chapter 45 and then read Ezra chapter 1. Trust this will help you understand this better.

I know how hurtful this is for you. We need to remember why Europeans migrated to THE NEW WORLD. To get away from oppression, however some brought it here with them. Not everybody shunned their lust to cleanse the new world of its former inhabitants.

In a way similar to what the Jews experience in Israel today. Everyone trying to drive them out of land that God made a covenant to give to them.

It was evil what Europeans did to the people of Native America. They didn't understand your religion; and you were pushed off of your native lands.

My ancestors, Cajuns, immigrated to Canada, and moved south all the way to Bogalusa Louisiana. No one wanted us either. But we became Christians and tried to live in peace.

All of us are taught the history of how Native Americans were driven further away from the Europeans settlements. Similar to how the Jews would be driven away from their land. Almost eradicated by Hitler. They hid as Catholics. Now all those people who hid in other lands are returning to their homeland in Israel.

The harm done in the past cannot be fixed until we all join in belief of God, and His son Jesus. Jesus Submitted to be crucified by unbelievers so he could save us and take us to heaven. Away from systems and beliefs of earth, those that don't follow His Provision of Salvation.

At the end of 1000 years we will return to a restored Earth. Like it was in the beginning. He's the only one who can heal us from 6000 years of mistreatment and being homeless at times. We will live as one body in heaven. No separation. All equal. We will all have the same Father.

If we can trust Him, this can be reality. He adopts us, and we adopt Him. Will you ask Him into your heart today? Trust Him to right the wrongs, and erase the memories. To give you the right to be His beloved child, forever. I pray the Holy Spirit to help you trust.

Hi Bev. Psalm 139:14 in the KJV does show what you're looking for. And you could add verse 17 to verse 14.

Other possible Scriptures to consider: Isaiah 49:16; Proverbs 3:5,6.

I don't think it is taken out of most Bibles. It's probably harder to find one without the word Jehovah. If you search the word and click on one of the verses and view the other translations you can clearly see that most use that word. God bless.

    To John anonymous,

Sorry to hear of your situation regarding the "Havana Syndrome." From what I could find in my research, only those in the diplomatic office and their families were subject to this illness.

I will pray for all involved and quick healing by the Hand of GOD. The LORD promises to avenge, but we must first forgive. May the LORD give you peace and comfort.

GOD to shine HIS face on you and give you peace. The LORD bless you and keep you and your family safe.

    Hi Linda,

I don't know anything about the person or event you are referring to, but it's a common smear tactic to find someone who committed evil and to blame something that person may have associated with at one point of time in their life. But when someone chooses to commit evil and violate the Bible's teachings how is that the fault of anyone other than the one who chose evil?

    God bless...

Christ followers can and should be confident in their future salvation when they are following Christ, but satan absolutely loves OSAS, because he deceives people into assuming they don't need to take any action to follow Christ. He even convinces people that doing good is bad and bad is good- satan's signature of opposites.

Jesus gave plenty of warnings about this exact topic through parables and verses like this: Matthew 7:21. People who assume otherwise have to ignore most of the new testament's warnings and conditional statements: If... then... Rom 10:9, John 15:10. Even satan and demons believe in God and Jesus. Jesus said most people will go to hell and gave us Christians plenty of warnings. Jesus said to fear God the father. Matthew 10:28

Most of Paul's writings were to Christians in churches he was concerned about as they were going astray. He didn't tell them: just do whatever, and don't worry about obeying Jesus, because it doesn't matter. No, quite the opposite. Satan loves people not trying though. Paul said to run the race. Some Christians interpret this as "don't run any race, because it doesn't matter."

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that people who aren't following Christ have assurance of salvation. And nowhere in the Bible does it say we're saved now on earth right after saying a prayer and before Jesus comes and before we even face judgment. This seems to be the epitome of man-made doctrine not from the Bible. I welcome anyone to share any scripture that says this, because I hear it a lot, but never seen anything in the Bible saying that.

Happy to have a respectful dialog with any other perspective, but the Bible is clear what it says. Obeying Jesus is good and disobeying is bad. Those who disobey may not be Christ followers and don't have assurance of salvation. John 14:15. Also anyone can commit blasphemy of the holy spirit, which clearly says is unforgiveable, which alone debunks OSAS theory.

I am Native American, and I am unhappy that these verses were used by Cotton Mather to lend credibility to the massacre of Native American women, children and old men. What do you have to say about this?
  • Chris - In Reply - 1 year ago
Indeed Mark. The Lord was "downplaying that part of His ministry so people wouldn't think that was all He was about". And probably I could add that both it & the fact that in His Knowledge of future events, the appointed time for His death had not arrived ( John 2:4; John 7:6,30; John 8:20). Jesus knew what He was doing and where & to whom He should minister - almost see Him regulating His Time on the Earth on a timetable, acting according to His Father's Will & Plan.

I strongly disagree with you. If one is saved, one is born again. If one is born again his name is written in the book of life.

The new testament doesn't begin until Jesus dies on the cross. Jesus came for the Jews, not the gentiles, for the most part in Matthew, Mark Luke, and John, ( now John is different when he writes he has the gospels and Paul's epistles before him. What you are quoting was written to a temple attending, sabbath observing, pork abstaining, bearded Jew under the law. I'm not a Jew, are you?

If you want the doctrine for this age, read, Romans- Philemon.

Religion is what a man does to justify himself before God, salvation is what God gives a man who knows he can't justify himself.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

I don't want to argue, good luck working your way to heaven. I don't work to get saved, I don't work to stay saved, I work because I am saved.

My destination is fixed. I'm trusting nothing but the blood of Christ to get me to heaven.
  • Bro dan - In Reply on Revelation 21 - 1 year ago
    Luke,

I strongly disagree with you saying that Paul is telling the saved believers that they are going to heaven "no matter what". Paul is not saying this.

In the verse that you listed: Philippians 4:3 "And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life."

If it is as you say Paul and his fellow laborer's are destined for heaven no matter what - why are they laboring so hard? I'll tell you why they are laboring, they are struggling with everyday life, to live as sin free as possible and follow in Christs footsteps to assure that they actually do achieve the prize - Heaven!

If it is as you are relating here that all Christian's that believe that their name is in the book of life are going to heaven - no matter what - this is false doctrine, and for anyone to believe this, they we would have to ignore the entire gospel of Jesus Christ.

    Matthew 22:14

"For many are called, but few are chosen."

    Luke 13:24

"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."

    Matthew 7:14

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

    Matthew 5:20

"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

There are no free tickets to heaven, and it's never too late to change, read Jesus Christs Gospel found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and Believe!

    Good Bless.

My take on that is this. when you die your soul goes to be with the Lore, " to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Your body is in the ground, i believe since the body belongs to a saved person, it leaves first, the dead in Christ rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up with them in the clouds.. I think the Lord want the bodies of the saved believers out of this world before the Antichrist takes over. I think he will put the molecules back together and match it back to the soul.

If you are truly saved, the bible way, you are born again spiritually from above, that can't be undone. You are a child of God no matter what.

Everything points to a grape. From a vine tree. " the pure blood of the grape" Mary said, they don't have any more wine, he said, woman what have I to do with thee, mine hour has not yet come, to shed his blood, "wine, blood, grape.

My story is when Satan tempted Eve, he popped a grape in his mouth, and said, see I'm still alive. If I would guess Adam and Eve had salt water running through their veins. Then Eve ate the grape, " pure blood of the grape" and now she had blood running through her veins, and she turned pink, the blushing race. Adam comes by and sees her and she's pink, he knew what happened. As Christ died for the church, Adam took the fruit and died for her. God would have given him a new wife.

Christ said, I will not henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until the day when I drink it new.

Paul was a special apostle, by a post resurrection, Jesus Christ. "separated unto the gospel of God." Paul is "separated unto"

Most of what you hear today, is separated from something, like tv, smoking, drinking, dancing, beer, movies ( the things you've quit)

Unless you are separated to something, your separation from things, doesn't amount to anything.

A christian should be separated to something.

Lambs book of Life, when one gets saved, they are now born again. One of the many, many, many, things that happens is that your name gets written in the book of life.

Paul is telling the saved believers, in Philippians 4:3, fellow laborers whose names are written in the book of life. Your destined to Heaven no matter what. Glory to God, amen.
