A Commentary on the word Darkness:

The plague (the ninth) of darkness in Egypt ( Ex. 10:21) is "described as darkness "which may be felt." It covered "all the" "land of Egypt," so that "they saw not one another." It did not" extend to the land of Goshen (ver. 23). "When Jesus hung upon the cross ( Matt. 27:45; Luke 23:44), from "the "sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the" "ninth hour." "On Mount Sinai, Moses ( Ex. 20:21) "drew near unto the thick "darkness where God was." This was the "thick cloud upon the" "mount" in which Jehovah was when he spake unto Moses there. The" "Lord dwelt in the cloud upon the mercy-seat ( 1 Kings 8:12), the" cloud of glory. When the psalmist ( Ps. 97:2) describes the "inscrutable nature of God's workings among the sons of men, he" "says, "Clouds and darkness are round about him." God dwells in" thick darkness. "Darkness ( Isa. 13:9, 10; Matt. 24:29) also is a symbol of the judgments that attend on the coming of the Lord. It is a symbol of misery and adversity ( Job 18:6; Ps. 107:10; Isa. 8:22; Ezek. "30:18). The "day of darkness" in Joel 2:2, caused by clouds of" "locusts, is a symbol of the obscurity which overhangs all divine" "proceedings. "Works of darkness" are impure actions ( Eph. 5:11)." Outer darkness refers to the darkness of the streets in the "East, which are never lighted up by any public or private lamps" "after nightfall, in contrast with the blaze of cheerful light in" the house. It is also a symbol of ignorance ( Isa. 9:2; 60:2; Matt. 6:23) and of death ( Job 10:21; 17:13).

Look on the entry page, is the Search Box. Put the word darkness in it. There's 142 verses. You can put the list in BOOK order. and you can choose old or New Testament only.

There's no darkness in God. He is surrounded by clouds because of the Light and, God is a consuming Fire. We're mortal/human and cannot look upon Him and live.

    I could share more but...

Proverbs 20:29 - The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.

Old age is a wonderful thing and as I get older I appreciate everything much more than I did in my youth. I like seeing my hairs go gray (even though age-wise...I'm not even in the middle yet) and some of the best spiritual mentors I've had in my life were over the age of 65.

    Shane:

You ask, how powerful is that darkness?

How powerful is that light, there are from the same source?

    That light is TRUTH.

    That light is LIFE.

Flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God, is a kingdom of gods, IN THE AGE TO COME. We are being brought to TRUTH (to Christ) in this AGE of GRACE.

Psalms 82:6 For I have said, Ye are gods, the children of the most high.

Psalms 136:2 O give thanks unto the God of gods .....

Daniel 2:47 .....Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods .....

John 14:6 Jesus said unto them, I am the way, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man (flesh and blood) cometh to the Father but by me.

1 Timothy 16:6 WHO (CHRIST) ONLY hath IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the LIGHT which no man (flesh and blood) hath seen, nor can see ........

Shane, flesh and blood, has to be DESTROYED by HIS COMING (truth and life): TO YOU.

LIGHT, truth and life, hath SHINED INTO DARKNESS (MAN).

The OLD, flesh and blood, MAN; DIED on the cross of Calvary, the NEW; flesh and bone, MAN arose from DEATH.

YOU, when you depart this flesh and blood body, YOU will be a NEW CREATION: LIFE AND TRUTH, just like Christ.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery .....Christ in you .....

Philippians 2:13 For it is God (Christ in you, truth and life, in you) that worketh IN YOU (his body) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God GIVETH it (the NEW MAN) a body as it has pleased him, to every SEED HIS (Christ's) OWN BODY.

All of this is A GIFT, given to us, by the WORKINGS of the CROSS.

    God Bless You!

    Isaiah 65:13

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

    Isaiah 66:5

Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

    Isaiah 54:4

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

    Isaiah 49:23

And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

    Ezra 8:22

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

    Ezekiel 32:30

There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.

    Ezekiel 43:11

And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the great scripture!

"whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." Many Christians today believe in Jesus, but they conveniently overlook and or they ignore the "liveth part".

I'll say this again, it is the "liveth part" that many people ignore!

Very Important: Jesus is asking us not only to believe in Him, but to also live our lives accordingly. Meaning repenting, walking with the Spirit, and refraining from sin.

    God bless.

1Sa 31:12 All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there.

It is not sinful to cremate your body and is the cheapest way of burial as not to burden those left behind. Once we are done with these body's we are done never to return to them; so whatever form you wish to discard your fleshy body has no bearing on your heavenly one. Our flesh ages and gets sick but our spiritual last forever and is perfect, able to run and leap like a deer and last forever.

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Lev 18:21 Molech- child sacrifices by fire. Abortion is no different; when the left get done crushing the baby's to death and harvesting stem cells for profit, they just toss in the fire. Deu 30:19 Jer 32:35 GOD the FATHER said it never even entered HIS mind that someone could even think of such evil!!

And those who stand by and even take part in it have there day of judgement- Lev 20:4,5,6

Job was the 3rd son Issachar ( Genesis 46:13) he would of gone down to Egypt with his father. Issachar was 40 at "the going down to Egypt" Job would have been about 20 at that time (1706 bc). We are told he lived 140 years after his double blessing Gen. 42:10. If the double blessing included length of years then his age would have been 70 + 140 = 210 (3 70's of years). His lifetime would be 1726 to1516 BC. According to this, he was born the year after Joseph was sold, and died 119 years after the death of Joseph (in 1635 BC). When Joseph died, Job was 91. If his double blessing did include length of years (little doubt that they did) then his affliction took place 21 years previously, when he was 70. When Job died (1516) Moses was 55 and had been in Midian 15 years, 25 years before the Exodus. This would account for Job being a worshiper of GOD of Abraham, and explains how Moses could have been the author of the book, and perhaps an eye and ear witness of the events it records in Midian. Scholars have no other knowledge than this but we know for sure it was only given to us through the inspiration of GOD.

Wow. It's as though this Psalm is talking about our current and evil Biden administration.

God told Moses "You can not look upon me and live"... also in scripture "He will destroy them with the brightness of his coming" Question--if i can't look upon his glory and live in this flesh "is it the same" with looking upon the horry of the Devil and be scared to death? i get the concept of the light, but just as much that is light there is equal amount of darkness...Scripture says out of the darkness God said let there be light so how powerful is that darkness?????

Dear "Lori-an holt", Daniel himself says Lord in 10:17.

But perhaps someone else has read similar scriptures and has a different understanding. Because no capital letter is used. Personally, I read it as the Lord. God bless us in the name of Jesus, love you in Christ. Romans 13:11-14

After a lifetime of walking teaching and healing, we see Christ in the garden. Kneeling before His Father as always, it seems in the middle of the night, Christ rises and stomps on the head of Satan, who wishes to change the Son of Gods plan!

After what has happened again in our land, it becomes Satan's plan once again to change the plan of salvation for every soul here on earth!

His objective is clear, clearly set forth to cover all his bases, yet we, who are living in the spirit, also have come to place, a place where the savior was, alone and in most distress of questioning and uncertainty!

Our country under attack, the church without its first love, the love of many waxing cold!

Who will stand and crush this ones head? Who will speak the truth and say, these things are from this evil one! This one who's only desire is to send the soul to hell!

If you are seeing things correctly, then you are with Him in Gethsemane, kneeling, ready and standing up, while crushing this ones head!

We must understand that all things are temporal, that everlasting life is for those who trust Him at His word.

This word He gave His life for! Repent and be baptized

Dear "Laurie Wilson", to give you an example, unclean thoughts, thoughts of destruction, thoughts of murder, thoughts of envy and so on. All thoughts that are not peaceful or loving are often thoughts that we must fight against. And carnal desires are unclean, and in many ways we may have tribulation. But God is good in the name of Jesus, here we are talking about people who have lived with God for a long time, those who have been enlightened in the word and act on it. You can find such warriors here on the web. Occupation warriors are improvers, beggars and intercessory warriors.

Just so you know: God does not take an infant / child / youth to be a warrior if that person is not capable of being a warrior. In the kingdom of God there are many tasks!

Jesus who filled us with His Love, and who you can get to know as you read God's Word. Bible King James Version is Alfa and Omega. Jesus thru Holy Spirit will lead you to Peace, for your own part with God. Therefore, we have been told that our struggle is not of this world, if you are enlightened and have received Jesus to live in you. Can you become an active warrior.

You use the spiritual Sword to understand what it means. Many times it can be yourself you pray for. Other times, the fight may be for other people. But know that the Lord Jesus always has a way out of the struggles. Pray in spirit and truth and He will deliver you from the prison garment! :) The best examples are in:

    Ephesisans 6:11-18

    Hebrew 4:12

And remember that if you do something work for the Lord Jesus, the burden is light. As it stands Matthew 11:28-30
