Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
My native language is not English but Greek. And my English is not that good as you have surely noticed
As I see it, the KJV translation is a very good translation. Obviously there are some mistranslations and mistakes since translating from one language to another sometimes, few times not always, can not give the right or the very precise interpretation or impression.
But lets talk specifically about the word Godhead. Question. Godhead means Head of God? A somehow group of persons that are Divine?
Anyway the actual greek word in Romans 1:20 is THEIOTIS. It means DIVINITY, and this is how it is written in modern Greek as well. In all versions of the Gospel in Greek, ancient and modern, it is the same, I have never read/heard anything different. Now there is another word in Greek, the word THEOTIS. It is almost the same, the only difference is the letter "I" between letters "E" and "O". But that changes the meaning of the word completely, from Divinity to Godhead. But they are different things, not the same.
Now in my opinion, what Paul is trying to say in the specific verse? "V20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse"
Change the word Godhead with the word Divinity. It makes more sence, doesn't it? It means that the power of God and His Divine nature are shown to people through His creation. This is how I have always read it, tought it, heard of it so far back here in Greece.
Now for the rest you write in your post dear brother I am sorry I can not really answer I can only give you an answer for the specific word. But maybe I am wrong, maybe I dont understand the meaning of the word Godhead as it really is. Anyway one can search that on internet or in encyclopedias or christian books. It would be interesting to see how it is translated in other languages like French, Spanish, German etc
1 Peter 5:2-4. Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
The ten com/ments in the OT were a sort of summary of the moral Law given by God to Moses, the most significant ones, we may say.
Are they still valid in the era of the NT? This question can be answered according to what we want to come to.
If we want to see what is the relevance between the Decalogue and Salvation, they are different things. Salvation is a gift from God through the acceptance of Jesus Christ's Sacrifice on the Cross. It is not aquired as a wage of obeying the 10 com/ments or any other com/ment.
But still obeying God's Law or com/ments is essential for our salvation. Disobeying God's Law is a sin, and if one keeps doing that in his life and not repent, I am sorry to say he will not enter the Kingdom of God in Heaven. Many christians, not me, believe that salvation is secured once we believed and were born again and got baptized. But remember the parable of the ten virgins? All of them were virgins (children of God), had oil (Holly Spirit) inside them, had light (pure life) but only five of them were accepted by Jesus in. The rest heard that horrible thing " I don't know you". So obeying God's Law in our christian life is a necessity for believers.
Now, are all ten com/ments still valid in the NT? Yes, unless otherwise stated in the Gospel. The one for Sabbath is not, it is what that verse in Colosians states. Also the one that says to not misuse the name of God is partly changed by Jesus, as far as swearying to God is concerned, Matthew 33-34. And many other commandments from the OT have been changed by Jesus ie about divorce, about loving and not hating our enemy and some more. The rest of them are still valid. But they are not the basis of the christian faith like it was for Jews Jesus Christ's Sacrifice is the basis on where we build our lives. And if one wants to somehow summarize God's Law in NT, I think the com/nts in Matthew chapt. 5, and 6 are the ones to read.
Do you think that verse is a bad or incorrect translation then? If so, do you believe there's other verses in the KJV that are incorrect translations?
My belief is that its already translated and correct and the translators did mostly word for word translations but also took into consideration the intended meaning and in this case they apparently concluded that Godhead was the best English word for it. I believe it was all done far more carefully and prayerfully then us taking a few seconds to look it up and draw our own false conclusions.
The same trick can be done in English too, where you could translate my comment for example to another language and its not a perfect 1:1 ratio of words, so some words will be missing some added to make it correct. But when its translated and means the same as what I wrote, one can easily cherrypick one word, look it up, and say aha!, what it REALLY means is something else. Consider words like run, set, take, go, place, right. All have multiple meanings depending on context, so someone can easily discredit anything they want by choosing one word and retranslating it into another word, possibly missing the meaning in context, while 'proving' to themselves that it was incorrectly translated. Maybe you are already aware of this fallacy, but if not I hope it is helpful. God bless.
That's right Adam, well said, I agree with you. Now as far as the word "Godhead" is concerned, if we talk about the scripture in Romans 1:20 the word "Theiotis" in the Greek text is actually translated in English as "Divinity" not Godhead. But still words like Godhead (maybe Godhood or even Deity?) can be successfully used to describe God as well. My opinion...
Hello, this is a commonly used argument, but many consider it invalid because it relies on wordplay and misdirection. One can use the same argument to say: the Bible doesn't have the word "Bible" in it anywhere, therefore it must not be one? You can look through every letter of the scriptures and you will never find it say "Bible" ever. So, this is supposed to be a compelling a argument. People often assume an omission means more than it means. For instance, does the Bible say anywhere that Jesus coughed, sneezed, laughed, took a bath, or went to the restroom? Does that automatically mean he never did any of these things in his whole life?
There's nothing magical about the word trinity and I don't know if the origins stated are true or not, but either way I will use the word because people know what it means. The word is used as a convenience to describe what the Bible already says. It already says the 3 are one, already uses the word "Godhead," and already uses the plural word "we" to describe God. There are numerous verses about this concept and those who don't like a particular word don't have to use it, but if they start denying scripture then that is something they will have to work out between them and God. Some deny the word "rapture" too, but the Bible says "caught up." If God's Word says people will be caught up then people will be caught up. Some of the wordplay fallacies can be distractions from the truth of God's Word.

Loyce, you've learned a very valuable lesson. I've been there too. It's entirely possible the Lord is calling you to pray and make intercession for the Body of Christ:
Of which Jesus is the head.
Intercessors stand in the gaps (in the broken down walls)
They build up the hedges, so the enemy cannot see the soldiers lying in the ready to ambush.
This is not a Call of Duty video game. Christians on the frontlines (pastoring, evangelizing, ministering) need the ones called to prayer.
It's no small thing we do. Jesus is our rewarder. We will be led to pray by the Holy Spirit.
It's done in secret or with the intercessors in the church. In a church I was a member of; all intercessors came to church on Friday nights. The associate Pastor would join and oversee the group. It was wonderful. Almost as good as evangelizing the lost.
Nobody get the recognition or any glory. It's a meeting between the Holy Spirit and those willing to pray. The Church is blessed with financial freedom, new births, healing, deliverance and much more. Pastor never had to beg for people to show up. If we added fasting to prayer__the harvest was very great.
The Book of Acts, the early Church was doing the same thing too. The Gospel of Christ has covered the earth. With internet and cell phones, I believe every corner and crevice has been reached.
It's time to load the new Ark, which is Jesus Christ. Like Noah, were to build the Ark, and evangelize the lost. Numbers and good reports are Jesus's Department. :)
Amen Brother And we know it all started in Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. praise the Lord For his Salvation plan
Dear Abbey. This was a goid question. Try to think what love Embracing? In love and peace, we do anything for our Neighbour, and all ppl there where we are, brothers and sisters. In a service way, loving way, Humble and much much more. Jesus Loves us and We can love becouse He loved us first. Love u in Christ
Yes. So you must save yourself from this untoward generation Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (this is the only way of salvation
Dear Darius, indeed, many young ppl begin to see where we are in the Prophecy, There will mean revival, and people who repent and believe in dead works. To tribute to the living Almighty God in the name of Jesus. Love u in Christ. Revelation 12
First thing I can say that a true pastor should Not be Hired as it states in John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. A true Man of God is called of God and not hired John 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I pray God sends you A true pastor
Dear Loyce Taylor, you are right, we can see and we must never stop Warn others. But if we don't see and are innocent, no one can accuse us. But as long as we see a mistake, we have to repent if it's every day. :) He's still with us every day until the end of the world.
Thank you for your reminder, Jesus loves you, promise you in Christ
I read a verse that said, watchman, if you see the enemy and don't warn others. You are responsible. So, I thought that meant to tell others about their faults. Wrong, I got to the point that I didn't trust anyone, in the church or out. I thought their are very few who obey Gods word. I learned, that it was me at fault. Who am I to say, what God does in each person. And just because He teaches me some things that He doesn't teach other's doesn't make me more wise. I was very judgemental. I couldn't find people that obeyed God's like I did. I became a Pharisee. God have mercy on me.
There is One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism Ephesians 4:5John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. john 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. There is only One god ( Not Three ) and his name is Jesus. Only One Faith, that we believe and Obey The plan of Salvation Written in the Holy Scriptures, And One Baptism, The Burial in water into the ( NAME ) of Jesus! Not the Titles of father son and holy spirit. Acts 2:38 is the plan of salvation (Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.) We must Believe and Obey This command for this Reason ( Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. If we are to take any part of this word away we make the entire Bible a fairy tale and a lie that nobody will believe, we MUST be BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF ( JESUS ) this is the Command to the NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH! I write this in the hope to see gods will that No Man should perish
Many shall come in my name - First, false Christs, next, false prophets, Mt 24:11. At length, both together, Mt 24:24. And indeed never did so many impostors appear in the world as a few years before the destruction of Jerusalem; undoubtedly because that was the time wherein the Jews in general expected the Messiah.
People's Bible Notes for Matthew 24:5
Come in my name. As the Messiah. We learn from Josephus that enthusiasts did come about the time of the end of Jerusalem, claiming to be sent of God. Bar-cocheba, "the son of the star", appeared in A.D. 120. From time to time other deceivers have appeared.
Leviathan is a sea dragon..God broke its heads and fed it to the ppl.
(There are more then 1 leviathan though.. more remain in depths of sea..I personally believe they kept Satan from trying to escape his prison, earth.. but they could be there for other reason.. either way they are there to protect something or prevent, stop something that could occur if they weren't present)
"When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?" Luke 12:54-56
Very well stated!
