Hi Julian , I'm honestly not trying to be contentious and this is a genuine comment , I don't believe that we humans are eternal , only God is eternal , if we were eternal then death wouldn't be our enemy or a punishment for our sins or need a sacrifice for us to continue living , do you see what I'm saying ? Hi Jerry. The Apostle Jude is speaking of the Enoch that is referred to in Genesis 5:18-24 and not the Enoch of Genesis 4:17, who was the grandson of Adam. So the Enoch of Genesis chapter 5 was the seventh in line from Adam, viz. Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch ( Genesis 5:3-24). However, Jude's quotation of Enoch's prophecy is not found anywhere else in the Bible; he may have learned about it from other manuscripts not available to us & this was then later incorporated into the non-canonical Book of Enoch (as the prophecy shown in Jude & the Book of Enoch are not entirely the same).
