    Hello Marsha,

Acts 10 has nothing to do with food, God was using it as example to teach Peter that the common/unclean/Ethnos people are not so common/unclean after all.

    Peter knew the food laws.

Cornelius/an Ethnos, a captain over a hundred men/ethnos of the cohort called the Italian band, was a pious/devout man

He was told in a vision to send men to Joppa and send for one Simon, who is surnamed Peter.

The Angel of God came to Peter three times and told him to eat of the creatures in the vessel,,, while he was in a trance.

    Peter knew the food laws

While Peter was Now while Peter was perplexed in himself what this vision which he had seen should be, behold, the men/ethnos

which were sent from Cornelius/devout man having inquired carefully for Simon's house, and stood at the gate, asking for Peter.

While Peter turned over in his mind the vision, the angel of God said unto him, "Behold, three men seek thee.

Now fast forwarding to verse 28 And he said unto them, "Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto aliens; but Me God shewed that I should call no man common or unclean.

Satan and his angels cannot battle the Holy Spirit. Not just any Holy Spirit, this Holy Spirit found in the true word of God, the gospel.

Unlike any other word, the Holy Spirit moves and thrusts through the evil that is constantly lurking, that is always deceiving and manipulating the minds of the Nations. An evil spirit, that wants to eliminate the salvation found through the saving faith found in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The sword of the Spirit , that cuts through and leaves Satan in a unpredictable place, while He contemplates His next move.

These battle's are real, as the word goes out, through the mouths of his children, it does not return void. Opening another fissure that the water of life may flow freely from the stony hearts of man!

How powerful, how unexplainable are His ways past finding out!

The Holy Spirit this one hates. He cannot win against it, He must stop it somehow ,someway!

If you are in the Spirit, you are in this battle!

You will hear again the words " For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

Even so Isaiah says, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Are you dismayed by the things you see and Hear? Or, are you trusting in the words of Christ, who's death and resurrection has set you free! Set you free to finding yourself in His Spirit, the Holy Spirit!

    Dear May,

Thank you for the update. It is so good to have you in my "sphere". I appreciate you.

I will pray for your job interviews tonight.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You and ask that You secure for May the "best fit" job for her at this time. Be with her in these interviews and guide her as she answers questions and presents herself to these prospective employers. Grant her favor with the company You choose for her. We ask that You provide for May's financial needs at this time of unemployment. Supply her out of Your abounding abundance. We ask that You will draw May closer and closer to You with each passing day and grow her up in Your Son, Jesus Christ, towards maturity, becoming so well established in faith that she will not be swayed by any false teachings, practices, or schemes that come from the enemy. We pray that May will have You for her hiding place, her refuge, and protector from harm and distress. We pray that May will devour Your Word and become increasingly wise in the things that matter the most. Thank you for this connection between May and I. It is precious. We ask all of these things of You, Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

    James 1:27

PURE RELIGION and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

    Jeremiah 49:11

Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

    Lamentations 5:3

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

    1 Timothy 5:3

Honour widows that are widows indeed.

    1 Timothy 5:16

If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

    Psalms 68:5

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

You can look at these Scriptures, Jo: Exodus 22:22-24; Deuteronomy 27:19; Jeremiah 22:3-5; Malachi 3:5.

Even if we look at the BOM itself, how can one read it & accept what it says: that it's impossible for children to have a sin nature; that black skin is a sign of God's curse; by grace we are saved after all we can do; that at Christ's crucifixion, darkness would cover the face of the earth for three days; that Adam & Eve's eating of the forbidden fruit was necessary so they could have children & bring joy to mankind; of many high priests serving simultaneously & multiple temples in operation, are just a few declarations that should cause one to reject that book. And if we find apparent discrepancies in the Bible, they are usually a copyist's error, or something we can't fully understand for lack of more knowledge.

There are also truths in other religious books - I'm more acquainted with the Qur'an. But would I use it to help me to know God better & further my knowledge on biblical doctrines? Never. I find that the Bible has all the information that I need; I would like more, as we all might want, but what we have been given should be sufficient & we should be confident to believe in God's Word in its entirety. In my reading of BOM, I find nothing useful in there to attain further knowledge of God, rather a book of words that are often in opposition to the Bible & also lacking in historical credibility. And for these very reasons, I also refuse the OT & NT apocryphal books - they add nothing to the pure Word of God that attends to every need or question that I might have.

Thanks for your further comments, Paul.

To the 'two sticks being joined together', I can't offer any more on that, since I read the Ezekiel chapter differently to you & apply the meaning of the sticks to Israel & Judah, as the whole chapter is about people not books.

I wouldn't be able to comment whether certain people are from a particular tribe of Israel. Unless people can do a verifiable research to trace their ancestry to such a distant point, I generally leave off that discussion as I see it going nowhere and we end up with just opinions.

"Is the Bible gathering Israel?" By this I understand, is there a clear thread running through the Bible of Israel one day coming together & worshipping the LORD in Truth? There are several references to this: Jeremiah 31:31-34; Deuteronomy 30:1-6; Isaiah 41:8,9; Isaiah 11:10-12, are some of the Scriptures about the future re-gathering of Israel. There are of course, many references to Israel's other regatherings, i.e. from the captivities, etc.

Re: your belief in "both Bible & Mormon". Without even looking at the Book of Mormon (BOM) now, we just need to study the utterances of those men I mentioned previously, which should cause one to balk at the very nature of these men & the beliefs surrounding the LDS. If the Apostle Paul came out with an epistle speaking about the moon being inhabited by six foot men dressed like Quakers, I would look at Paul with great suspicion as also his other letters & probably wonder how much other falsehoods are found in the Bible. We can't isolate the BOM from what that church's leaders believed & taught, however ignorant they might have been of the truth. Just as today, both the preachers' words & the words of the Bible are weighed in together - and one or both might stand or fall as a result.

Revelation 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what THE Holy Spirit is saying unto the churches.'

    14 And unto the angel of the church in Laodicea write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Chief Ruler of the creation of God;

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spue thee out of My mouth.

17 Because thou sayest, "I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;" and knowest not that thou

art the wretched one, and miserable, and poor(in spirit), and blind, and naked:

    Revelation 11: Concluding thoughts

Thus; Armageddon and the judgment of the nations where fires burn from one end of the earth to the other along with carcasses ( Jer. 25:33); Zeph. 3:8-10 are inevitable. Christ will come and destroy in one fell swoop those attacking Him in Armageddon; and cast the Antichrist and False Prophet into hell; and Satan will go into the pit for 1000 years.

We need; therefore in order to be part of the harvest warning people of the wrath to come; because the night comes when no man can work. ( John 9:4). This is probably with a double meaning; the time when Christ was first taken away after the crucifixion until His Resurrection; and perhaps later in 70 AD for a time but of course the last part of the Tribulation comes into mind as well. There will be no possibility of repentance after the mark is taken.

    Revelation 11 overview

When we search out verse 2 of this chapter; we see how the Gentiles are "trampling" the area outside the court. This will most likely be the league of the immediately surrounding nations (Jordan; Palesitinians; Lebanon; Egypt etal) that are claiming territory at least in half of Jerusalem and much of Israel but basically not settling in any organized manner. No doubt much chaos and violence will be occuring; starting as early as the 2nd seal and continuing to this point. In any event; there is basically a space for the 2 Witnesses (and any others; I suppose that are taking refuge there but no one is indicated). They are able to operate with impuninty; it seems until they are killed by the Beast ascending from the pit (the last chapter indicating that is the 2nd "woe".)

After the world celebrates their death; it is said that they all give one another gifts. (v. 10). I have heard it been said that would only be possible with online purchases in that short amount of time worldwide; not to mention the worldwide cable TV networks no doubt focused on these things. The last mention of any fear of God is when they are resurrected (v. 13). This will probably wake some up; but not all so that they realize shortly that it is really Antichrist rising to power and subsequently they obey God's plan to evacuate to the wilderness around Petra.

The "third woe" isn't really defined; nor is the seventh trumpet. It stands as a declaration of what is coming to pass which means wrath is no longer restrained; and there is the inevitable path to judgment for those taking the mark of the Beast; and consolidation of nations to Armageddon; after a series of events where nations gather beforehand. THis would be the "rumors to the north and east" ( Daniel 11:44). The timing of the Ezekiel 38 war Russia and northern and confederate nations is a bit vague; but the East (China) will all come toward Armageddon as the Antichrist brigs in the western countries.

Luke, I agree with Henry and Jesse,

Simmer down and resist being combative here. We are all brethren and should not assess another's standing with God based on a few posts. This forum is a good place to express viewpoints, opinions, and Scriptural references and interpretations. Let's keep it like that instead of being vitriolic. Agape love bears all things, considers others above ourselves, looks out for the interests of others, is not contentious, and a number of other attributes spoken of in Scripture. We can practice these things every day in every circumstance. God's blessing upon you Luke. You have made some very good contributions here. I hope you will continue to do so, but lay off the acerbicness, please.

Thank you! "With all due respect" tops the list of rude phrases

Are you really showing respect when you say "With all due respect?" That phrase topped the list of rude phrases and words. Why it is disrespectful? What invariable follows that phrase is a negative attack.

It is rare when a positive statement is made following "With all due respect." As a result, when this phrase is used, the other party becomes immediately defensive and irritated.

A vicious attack-defense spiral has been initiated that is difficult to break though. It you want to disagree, first acknowledge what the other party has said, make sure you have clarification and then state why you disagree. Using "With all due respect" draws the conversation away from a goal of reaching agreement because the emotions get in the way of problem solving.

    Thank you Henry, and Jessie!

Matthew 5:13 Ye represent the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted [by men]? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot by men.

Job 6:6 Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

Luke. With all due respect before Revelation begins which is the judgement

Of Jesus Christ or wrath against all unbelief of which the Church Epistles state

That we who are born again are saved from because we are God's Sons and Daughters in Christ and our sins are paid for so Christ will come for His Church

First. Also In defence of the truth for someone to state that another brother is

Being Influenced by Satan or controlled mentally is extremely out of walking in God's Love and not judging correctly spiritually. Our first priority is to walk in

Agapeo renewed mind love also according to Corinthians 13:5 The love of God

Thinketh no evil just because someone doesn't agree with what you see biblically

Doesn't make them spiritually screwed up, we who believe fight for each other

    Not against.
  • Henry - In Reply - 1 year ago
Lisa. My first question is why do you want to know this.

    1Corinthians 10:23,

    Leviticus 11, Isaiah 66:17,

Have you noticed we can do, eat, act, drink, anything, anyway we want but there's long-term consequences, sometimes immediate consequences. Many of the foods GOD's law given to Moses for Israel are found to be linked to disease, obesity, diabetes, etc, etc. Pork & strong alcohol drinks related to dementia. Even in patience in their 30's.

    So, as Paul said, above._._

    Hopefully these are helpful

It's your ship, you're the captain, sail on brother, you say you did read my breakdown, and you still poked the bear? Why is it you can express your opinion, but take issue when I express mine, knowing that I disagree, you didn't want to have a discussion then, but you want to poke now?

That Is my opinion, The Rapture doctrine is a soul hunt designed to steal souls, it doesn't matter if you got Christ in you now, when a person worships the devil he dies a spiritual death, he is no longer a Christian, he's a devil worshiper,,, you aint the first person I've had the discussion with, and you wont be the last,,,

    Hi Luke,

That is a good take on this passage. Here is another.

Perhaps Jesus is saying that the camel could go through this keyhole door if all of the "baggage" was unloaded from him. The camel does not care about these things anyway. But a rich man would want to come through this door (God's Kingdom with Jesus as the door) with all his "baggage" (worldly goods), but the kingdom of God is not about worldly riches or treasures that rot or rust. A rich man may have much difficulty parting with his riches and leaving them outside of the Kingdom of God, so that is why Jesus said that it is so much harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God. Were our heart is there is where our treasure is. If we love the world and all that it brings us above the Lord, we will not be "fit" for His Kingdom. We need to divest ourselves of all that hinders us in order to be able to enter the Kingdom of God through the only door that gives entrance, that is Jesus. Those who cannot lose all things for the sake of Christ will be left outside the door of the Kingdom with all their stuff until they die and spend eternity in hell rather than living eternally in God's Kingdom with all the riches of Jesus Christ as our treasure.
