Dear Kingdom of Heaven. U have right, and the translator takes liberties. In my translation it says Love. And For many years I thought that love should be cold in most people. And tried to look at it more closely, love.

We can have nothing unless the Lord gives it to us, then everything must come according to His will. Therefore another key thing is He loved us first so that we can love sincerely, honestly, He righteously back. We can give Overmoistening love becouse Lord Jesus loved us first. Stay strong in the word of God.

Jesus loves u, i in Christ. Acts 19

    Philippians 4:8, 2Peter 2:4-22, 2Peter 3,

There are many things said about wrath, Judgement, GOD's Judgement,

additional scripture to think on, Psalms 37, Romans 8,

    Mark 13, Matthew 24, 2Thessalonians 2:2,3, 2Thessalonians 2,

Sometimes there's judgement of GOD of individuals, 2Samuel 12:7-16, of Nations, Malachi 3:5,

    Nahum 1:3, Psalms 107, 2Chronicles 7:13,14,

    To Sunita;

I wondered about that also. But God seems to have blesses their union although she was not of the tribe of Israel.

GOD's hand is on all who follows HIS Word.

May the LORD bless all on this forum.

Praying for our nations leaders, may they seek the wisdom of GOD as Joseph did.

    Exodus 33 continued...

The people were deeply dismayed that YHWH was not going to "tabernacle" among them on this journey. They may have thought that the God who delivered them from slavery in Egypt would be "afar off" now because of their idolatry. How little they understood of YHWH at this time. The Angel would be YHWH's Representative among the people, the Mediator between His sinful people and Himself. Here we may have a statement concerning the role of the Son of God, pre-incarnate. He is eternally the Mediator between God and Man. Otherwise, there would be no interactions between the Father and humanity other than judgment. But we do not know for sure if this Angel was, indeed, the Son of God.

The sinfulness of these people who had consecrated themselves to YHWH required a "go-between". Let us remind ourselves how serious sin is to God. We cannot approach Him without a Mediator, and that Mediator is only Jesus. YHWH stepped out of the people He had saved as an act of mercy and grace to prevent them being consumed by Him.

It says that the people mourned and did not put on their ornaments, as YHWH had instructed them to do, thus showing repentance. I do not know what these ornaments were; perhaps jewelry from the Egyptians. These ornaments would remind them of their sin of idolatry because the calf was made of such ornamentation. They stripped themselves of any such self-adornment. They instead took the dress of one who is penitent, remorseful, in mourning. There, at Mt. Sinai, otherwise known as Horeb, where the Decalogue was given, and the people were soon rebellious against it, they stripped themselves of what was valuable to them in the carnal way, and then turned from wearing them again. They did not put these ornaments back on.

We would be wise to do likewise. when we confess our sin to Jesus, we are to do so with repentance, with the intent of not returning to these sins, divesting ourselves of all that entangles us in sin, avoiding such snares.

All the ones you mentioned, Donna, are good commentaries and I would add, Benson and Barnes into your list as well. But as in all commentaries, they only give a person's understanding of the Scriptures, albeit by very studied men, so as helpful as they might be, our only resort should be to the Holy Scriptures & for the Spirit's enlightening. And as an aside, I've noticed that sometimes these commentators actually copy information from each other! Having a good Lexicon (Hebrew & Greek - available online) is also very useful to better understand where our English translations are coming from.

Hi Patrick. Sarah, in the Book of Genesis, was Abraham's wife. Actually, her name was Sarai (& Abraham was first known as Abram) & she was probably from the same region that Abram, his father Terah, & brothers Nahor & Haran, were from. This was a Gentile, pagan area, though we're not sure of the spiritual condition of these men at that time.

In Genesis 11:27 onwards, you can read of Sarai becoming Abram's wife, but she was infertile. And you can read their story from here on, but then in Genesis chapter 17, God establishes a covenant with Abram, that he would be a father of many nations, and that he would now be called, Abraham. As for Sarai, her name became Sarah, for she would be the mother of nations & kings of people would come from her (v16).

Hi Stacie. The questions you ask require much input, but I would firstly direct you to 1 Peter chapter 1 for your meditation. And especially verses 1 & 2, where the Apostle Peter writes to the believers in Asia Minor as to why God has caused them to be part of the Elect (or, chosen) of God.

They were not chosen randomly, some to be saved & others rejected, but chosen because of what God knew about them. God knew even before we were born, how our lives would pan out, our younger years, our careers, our struggles in life & even the day of our death. So they, & us, are the chosen of God because of His Foreknowledge (He is an Omniscient God): knowledge of how we will respond to Him & the Gospel. And Peter says that this foreknowledge of God involved the sinner being cleansed by Christ's shed Blood at Calvary & the sanctifying (setting apart) Work of the Holy Spirit. So knowing all this, there are certain people who have been ordained to receive God's Salvation & others who are not. And God also knew the ones who would not receive salvation because He knew they would reject the Gospel, or if they never heard it, they would still never accept Christ. The ones that God knows will belong to Him, will all come to Him - none will be rejected, as if to catch God by surprise. And Peter then gives these chosen ones the assurance in verses 4 & 5: those who are Christ's, have an incorruptible inheritance reserved in Heaven & while we're still on Earth, we will be kept secure in our salvation by "the power of God through faith" when salvation's full work is completed "in the last time (the day when we see Jesus & be with Him forever)".

So, those who are truly God's children (born again by His Spirit), will lead careful holy lives (see the rest of that chapter on this) - we can't, nay, can never fool around with God by leading double lives. It only proves we never belonged to God. Many believe in God, even as the devils do & tremble ( James 2:19), but that belief won't save them.

Hi Marsha. There are many verses that speak of, or allude, to the Triunity of God, i.e. God manifesting Himself to us in three Persons. But if you're looking for a single verse, then 1 John 5:7 fits the bill: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Of course, the Word given here is Jesus, Who is the Word of God made flesh for the suffering of death ( John 1:1-14; Revelation 19:11-13).

Thank you brother Jesse for those further thoughts on this important doctrine of God's Grace showered upon sinful man, through Jesus His Son.

True biblical Christianity stands well apart from any religion, even so-called Christian sects & cults, that require their adherents to attain some standard of good works or level of sanctification, to be acceptable to God. None can ever hope to reach the high standards that God would require - and God knowing this, stepped into this World, offering up Himself as the only payment & hope of mankind. How we would grieve the Spirit of God, if we should even contemplate adding our own efforts to secure that salvation that was well beyond our reach. And yet, when the Holy Spirit has taken up residence in the believer, not only our security in salvation is assured, but our lives & our works will be done and seen in demonstration of the Spirit's Power. That the Glory of God might be seen in His unfathomable Plan to save us and His great Power & Love exuding from His children. May we be circumspect in our daily walk, giving no cause to the unsaved around us to despise our Gracious Lord. Every blessing to you & brother Henry for your contributions; as you can see, I'm very passionate with this subject.

Amen Steve. Roman Catholicism has sufficiently perverted the Truth & ensnared it's adherents for too long leaving most incapable, even unwilling, to break free.

That the papacy in recent times permitted the laity to read the Scriptures for themselves, when only the clerics were once empowered to read & give understanding to it, was an important event to the freeing of many. No doubt many are now hearing from God's Word as 'thus saith the Lord ' and not, 'thus saith the Church '. That Christ is sacrificed at every Mass would rank very high on the list of RC abominations. But God is able to set many free as they consider the true state of their souls.

Stacie First God made us with freedom of will so no it's not that you don't have

A choice it's that God being all knowing knows who will not believe. That may

Sound like a fine line but again he gave us freedom of will. When your born again

You have his gift of holy spirit but it's up to you to do his will to work the gift by

His help. Again you operate not controlled!

Up his influences unbelief disease sin etc.

Does God use vessels of dishonour and nations to perform his will?

I believe so, here's a few reasons why

    Romans 9:18-23.

Habakkuk 1:5-11. Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

Another question asked is there such things as demon possession?

Here's what I believe and I'm not sure if it classifies as demon possession.

I believe there's ministers of Satan.

    2 Corinthians 11:14-15.

These are amongst us everywhere we go and can be identified as tares. Matthew 13:36-42.

    EVIL SPIRITS.

Satan is the prince of the world and he influences the flesh. the natural man. and the nations.

    1 John 4:1-3.

These tares may also be seen in Jude 1:1-25.

You can't always identify these tares with their Doctrine, some of their Doctrine sounds very familiar, but what they "seem" to believe in doesn't humble them and in areas of baring fruit they seems to be lacking. This causes a closer look at their theology and you find them taking a sharp left on the path.

    1 John 2:19.

    God bless."

S.Spencer. In continuation a preacher came back from Africa and supposedly

Gave an explanation of how someone acted possessed. No instruction on what

To do or not to do. A woman who heard his teaching went home and her young

Daughter had a temper tantrum kids do that,. Her mother thought she was

Possessed and beat her to death with a baseball bat. Obviously she was locked

Up because they thought she was insane! I have heard Christian's tell me so and

So is possessed and I ask them why would God tell you that if there's nothing your

Supposed to do about also the love of God thinketh no evil. If the spirit is telling you

Something there is a reason. So they absolutely exist but remember they can only

Be defeated by walking by the spirit and authority in the name of Jesus Christ.

    God Bless

S.Spencer. There is no question that devil spirit not demon(not in scripture)

Absolutely is real. Years ago a guy known for being a good father and community

One day started developing constant headaches all of a sudden went to doctor

Physician found nothing. A week later was hearing voices and bought a rifle

Went up to a water tower and shot and killed 5 people. When he was arrested

They ask him why did he do it his reply what are you talking about. That's

Spiritual and there is no other deliverance except believing in and accepting our

Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Years ago I was alone sleeping in a bed and I was awakened and felt something trying to crush me into the bed. I opened my eyes

And there was nothing there but the pressure continued, I called out the name Jesus

Christ and instantly pressure stopped and there was absolute peace. These are

Invisible beings i.e. spirit but manifest themselves in horrible ways. Another point

This field is nothing to play with if the spirit doesn,t tell you to do something don't!

    To be continued.

    Exodus 33 continued...

God promised to drive out all of the inhabitants of the Promised Land for the Israelites. It would be HIs working. The Israelites would have to trust Him, believe Him, and not try to do it themselves apart from Him. We must do the same. I am thankful we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to be the one who defeats our enemies who oppose God and us, His precious possession.

YHWH said that the land was flowing with milk and honey. There are 20+ Scriptures that use this phrase for the Promised Land. I have always wondered what this phrase actually means. I did a quick inquiry on line and found some good points to mention.

    1. The Land was filled with grasslands and vegetation to sustain their livestock, so the females would be calving and giving milk.

    2. The Land was able to sustain many colonies of bees, which require vegetation for nectar and in turn, the bees pollinate the vegetation. so there was good symbiosis in the land among the plants and animals abiding there.

    3. The Land had nutrient rich soil (re: the cluster of grapes that was so large that two men were needed to carry it). the soil would yield bumper crops of food.

4, Being a coastal region, the Marine climate from the Mediterranean would bring ample rain to provide water to drink and to grow food.

    5. In this time, the Land of Promise was most likely less desolate that today. It was well forested, which would require more rain then there is today.

    6. The reference to milk indicates that the land was suitable for farming and raising livestock to sustain the people's food needs.

    7. The reference to honey indicates that the land would provide beyond mere sustenance, but much delight and ease of living.

These thoughts may help us understand the phrase better. I don't believe that the Scriptures ever defines this phrase.

YHWH says that He will not go among the people on their journey, lest he consume them for being a stiff-necked people. The Angel would go with them.

Also if so where do those who believe in God but their predestination was not by God for the book of eternal life then do those people just go to hell no matter how they much the believe or do?

    Exodus 33

Today I praise the Lord for His goodness!

In this chapter we read what comes after the incident of the golden calf where we learned that sin, especially idolatry requires that God bring judgment upon the sinners. It is the most serious thing in all of creation because if God acted on His righteous judgment, humanity would have ended with Adam and Eve's sin in the Garden of Eden. They thought they would be like God and know how to direct their own life. We see in Exodus chapter 32 how the Israelites thought they could direct their own ways, too, and made an object that they thought could truly represent YHWH or even BE Him. How little did they know YHWH! We can fall into this same mindset if we do not increase our knowledge of God in Christ. We should endeavor to know Who God is from what He has revealed to us in His Word, in history, and especially in Jesus. Idolatry flourishes when true knowledge of God is limited. If one is not reconciled to God through Christ and not in the Word to learn of Him, one will have an inaccurate (and most often, too human-like) view of Who He is. We begin to think that He is altogether like us because we are made in His image. But such an image of Him, even in our thoughts, is idolatry.

Yet we also learned in Ch. 32 that God accepted the intercession of Moses because He already had accepted the sacrifice of Jesus to atone for sin before the foundation of the world) and in doing so, showed mercy to this nation He brought out of Egypt.

In Chapter 33, YHWH tells Moses to get up and move on into the way God directs them. YHWH says that they will go to the land He promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Despite the resistance and stubbornness of these people, YHWH was still going to fulfill his promise to these patriarchs. He will always be true and faithful to what He promised. His will will be done!

He also promised to send His Angel to go before them and drive out the peoples between their location at Sinai and Canaan.
