After contemplating the colt and the donkey, it would seem logical that Jesus would not had separated the mother from its foal. What is interesting is the fact that those who may have owned these animals allowed those two disciples to untie them and take them to Christ. These however, may have known the old testament prophecy, making sure that Jesus would have access to these animals. They being tied up in an intersection, between two places is significant, as if they were going soon, waiting to be sold too their soon to be new master. Or , perhaps they actually cared nothing, and thought that the decuples were the new owners.

we have to be careful not to read more into it than is already their! One thing is for sure, Jesus knew where these two animals were! Ne knew they were waiting for Him!

    Hello Bob

I absolutely agree with you. All the events described in the Book of Revelation are symbolic. Symbolic of what? We don't really know, we can make guesses. But even logical guesses may be wrong, BECAUSE we don't know the real events that are going to be. God's people through the ages have made very many guesses that all failed. Revelation is written in a way that people who are going to live at that time will relate the events taking place with what is written and can understand. Nobody can understand beforehand. I don't think God will reveal specifically to anybody (no matter how intense one prays and asks God for) the truth beforehand. He hasn't done that for centuaries to anybody, why would He do it now? Revelation is a book which is primalily written for people who will go through the great tribulation and antichrist. It is written so that they know what would be really happening and know what to expect and what they should and should not do. Also for non beleievers to believe and save their lives.

Just an example. If the mark of the beast is the bar code in a chip embedded in people, as many believe, who could have known that 50 years ago when that technology didn't exist. No matter how hard people may have tried to guess 50 years ago they could have never found out. Today we know because we relate something we see in our everyday lives ( the cashless society) with what is written and can make a good guess which seems to be right. So as the end times are getting closer and closer the more we will understand, but still I think many things will only be known during the last 7 years. So lets read the Book as God asks us to do, but this must be as far as we one must go. No vast time should be spent on trying to interprete it. It is a waste of time which could be spent to read the other parts of the Bible. There will be time when everything is going to be revealed. But I hope at that time none of us is here in this world to live during those events. GBU.

Chris, thank you. Your impression of where I was coming from in this matter is correct.

I agree that I think each person should find out for themselves about this matter rather than just take in what someone says on here or in any other publication or the preaching/teaching of others in such roles.

And I agree that there is so much we do not know about the early church and the leaders who wrote and spoke about many matters, eschatology included.

I am fine with bringing this discussion between us to a conclusion, but I just wanted you to know that I welcome any replies you wish to send me.

I was a pastor and evangelist for many years before an ailment prompted my retiring. During those years I have read and heard just about all the thoughts and theories on the book of revelation. And that my dear friends is all they are. Theories. No one has, or will be, able to precisely explain this book. It is one of the great mysteries of the Bible. I have read it over and over in my eighty-seven years on this earth. I started with my conversion at the age of twenty two. Some parts (few) would seem to be clear, but not enough to preach or teach with complete understanding. In fact, no one can rightly state they completely understand without doubt much of the scripture. We think, and read, with a finite mind. Whereas, the author who revealed these writings did so from his infinite mind. Who on earth is able to declare with absolute truth the mind of god? I have the belief of God revealing at the proper time, the true meanings of this amazing book. At that time the teachers and preachers eyes will be opened, and they will be able to enlighten all who are interested. Reading it will be as easy to under stand as John 3:16. But, of course, as I penned, it is just my belief and theory. Any believer who reads revelation should begin with prayer. Asking god to reveal what is important to their spiritual growth, and thanking him for his blessings for reading it. "Blessed is he who reads the prophecy's of this book" We are living in very perilous times. We should not be overly concerned with any parts of the Bible. Confusing our selves with un-anserable questions. Instead, we should busy ourselves with the importance of living the life god requires of us. I was, and still would be, a preacher of the New Testament, which I know is the most pertinent of all the Bible to read and study. Believers should be pondering how they can help others to come to the realization of their need to believe, and accept, his love and forgiveness. God be with you all.

Jesus is come in the likeness of man, The God, the creator, He has come in the flesh, this is the "the Son of Man".

The creator has manifested himself in the image of God, for this is His creation, Man created in the likeness of Himself. "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father"! As it is written, Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; Alex N, this I know without hesitation, that the palms, would become the highlight, would be the path of His choice . A palms these beasts would see and feel under their feet, guiding the way!

Can you see Him as He gazes across the multitudes, even those who stand at a distance and still are not convinced! These little ones who have laid out the path that will lead to an empty house. A house with no one their to receive Him! Do you hear Him saying, O Jerusalem! O Jerusalem!

The picture could not be more perfect as He spends the night waiting for the morning light. He will enter His house, and then you will see the tables fly! They have turned my house into a house of merchandise! This is His house, this is His temple, A temple not made with hands, a temple made in the heavens. Can you hear His voice as He disappears over the horizon? Don't wait to long, His voice you may not hear any longer!

Hello Sister Ruth. I believe you're referring to Joshua chapter 7 and to Achan's sin. We only know what has been given us in this chapter and specifically that Achan had taken the garment, silver & gold and hid them in a hole in the ground. And we also know that when his sin was found out and to spare the children of Israel the full force of judgement against them, both Achan & his family were judged & condemned to death.

Though not mentioned, it seems likely (and this is only a personal thought, not in Scripture), that someone in the family may also have been aware of what Achan had done; it would be difficult to carry & conceal such a large booty from family, even others continually milling around his tent & in that area. He may have sworn his family to secrecy, thus drawing them also into condemnation since they did not reveal his sin to Joshua when first known. And so his family, animals, even his tent were destroyed, thereby removing every blemish of sin from their midst. This act satisfied God & He returned to bless them & gave them victory over their enemies (Joshua chapter 8), and Israel would have had another powerful lesson about having a proper fear of the LORD, that what the LORD says must be obeyed or there will be consequences.

Standing out from the crowd: Fellowship of the Saints (continued)

Sadly; in Protestant circles today the proper concept of "confessing sins to one another" ( James 5:16) has been buried with the misapplication of the Catholic system and the hierarchy of church officials taking that approach toward parishioners; rather than the other way around. Before we cast stones in that direction; we need to see how well we are doing in light of Matthew 5:23.

When there is strife and envy and a brother is hardened like a city wall ( Prov. 17:14) and we are the cause it is our duty to rectify things. This is particularly true as well for a husband and wife so that their prayers won't be hindered ( 1 Peter 3:7).

It is said with the popular adage in the secular world that we are all part of creating a village (or something to that affect). The concept of the saints of Christ being a part of a victorious army should be made clearer when we see how when one member hurts all members suffer ( 1 Cor. 12). When we look at these actions as being duties rather than options; and Christ BEING our life rather than the "center" of it (which still places ourselves as the one who determines the meaning of that definition and all the other parameters as well) it helps to give us a better picture of the way things should be.

    Responsibilities as laypersons.

There are correct methodologies presented by Christ Himself as well as the Apostle Paul for disciplinary action. Nonetheless; we are to judge righteously. Those who suggest we shouldn't judge lest we be judged in the same manner who are truly in the faith need to be honest. If WE are the ones expounding error we should WANT others to hold us accountable; and that also applies for our responsibility as church members in particular to point out error among leadership with themethods prescribed in scripture. How can we not be jealous for the Word of God when "damnable heresies" are sneaking in (see Jude and many admonitions by Paul)

Stuck in the middle or standing out from the crowd (further insights)

Master. I have stated before and it doesn't hurt to repeat it that Christ is our MASTER as well as being Lord and Savior. Of course this isn't a "politically correct" concept which would be one benefit those living in a society seeing servitude (indentured servants at least) would have in comprehending that concept as a proper "lifestyle choice" for those who would proclaim Christ (although it is more of a command). The most direct reference Christ makes to us in this status is when he talks about the "unworthy servant" ( Luke 17:7-10). This gives as a good outline of how; for instance we should always prioritize our time for worship; prayer and studying the Word. There is only one who we are accountable to as individuals when this life is done. All good gifts are given from above; and hence are to be used for service in the Kingdom and edification of the brethren.

Fellowship of the saints. The command (not request) to love one another is emphasized in John 13:34-35 as well as 1 John. Surely the disciple that Christ "loved" ( John 21:7) was used to deliver this message and surely he understood that concept.

Sadly; this concept of adoption into the family of God ( Romans 8:14-19 but by no means limited to that verse) is more of an abstract idea today in most churches. Something as practical as inviting a single person to a holiday meal (such as was done for me a few years back) can really make a difference. We are instructed to rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn ( Romans 12:15). The opposite of this is either indifference; or worse gossip which basically is mocking a person's situation or at best having some morbid curiosity. Just to break out and instigate a conversation may take some effort when others on a Sunday morning are more interested id discussing sports; entertainment or personal matters to those in their social circles.

    Stuck in the middle

When we observe professing Christians; there are many clues as to whether they are "fruit producers" or not. This could be more adequately explained by comparing all "professors" of the faith to those "possessors" of the Holy Spirit. Here are some helpful verses to examine ourselves as well as get some clues as to where others are spiritually.

"He chastises everyone He loves." ( Heb. 12:6). Those of us who have been truly walking the straight and narrow know better than to glibly pray for something like patience. To freely embrace a verse like James 1:2 where we are told to "consider it all joy" when various trials/temptations come pass need to trust the Lord that He knows how to work all circumstances for the good OF THOSE WHO LOVE GOD (and called according to His purpose: Romans 8:28). This is the best way we can distinguish who is in the faith; those who truly understand not only that their sins have been forgiven; but they have a new Lord; Savior AND master. His sheep hear His voice; they may go astray for a time but the Chief Shephard brings in the lost 1 from the 99. ( Luke 15:4).

"if you love me you will obey my commandments." ( John 14:15). This verse may seem to contradict the ones where people were doing all sorts of "good works" in His name but were not His sheep ( Matt. 7:21-23). This is a caution to anyone who would have a ministry based on their own name; or type of gifting and certainly for the prosperity gospel leadership. We saw the same self-righteous religion with the Pharisees. Judas Iscariot is a pathetic example who was somehow convinced to betray Christ for 30 pieces of silver; apparently 4 days wages at that time although it would show silver vastly more valuable then compared to today's valuation. It was the seduction of power; then which Satan used to draw him in; thus the verse The admonitions of Luke 6:26 and Luke 16:15 serve aw warnings for those loving praise of men over praise of God.

This site has multiple study tools. If you type Bethel or any other word, partial word or phrase into search bar, it should show you where & how many times it occurs. It's not always 100% accurate but it's really a great feature. If you're doing a search & it doesn't pull up a scripture you know exists, try using another word, Then you can modify search in multiple ways.

Is it possible for us to make restitution for sin? How can we avoid the punishment that will come? The sins that are before us, the sins we have committed in the past?

Perhaps we think we can control God or perhaps we can convince God, of our justification. Even so ,how can we know what His penalty Is? How can we know what the the punishment is! How can we be found righteous!?

We cannot know His perfect will, we cannot know His justice, Fulfilling it would be futile! You may wish this, however, it is nothing more than your own works. Our works will never do! It can never ever satisfy His perfect will!

Somehow we think we can clean up our mess, and still be justified! This is not the way it works. There must be contrition of sin, there must be repentance, there must be prayer, there must be a baptism, a death of the flesh and a renewing of the Spirit, the resurrection given for the forgiveness of sin! We cannot find these things that are freely given, until you believe that the Christ died for the sins of the world! He is Lord, He is the forgiver, He is our propitiation, He is our deliverer!

The church should have written the things that belong to the world from before time , so they would have not repeated the past! The things that they do not want to hear have become the truths that are before them. Once again. The stone they rejected has become the head of the corner.

Insomnia is caused by one of two things.1. you have not had enough to drink ,or 2, your brain is replaying your life from beginning to end. This time you spend gazing with the good and bad spots that come up. Sort of like a record with scratches in it, or the 8 track that quits, when you pull it out, the tape comes with it!

As remarkable as this is, it is as yesterday has become a lifetime. It is impossible to understand how anyone who does not have the hope of the gospel, of eternal life, can get through this one!

More and more we see the tragedy of the lives of the helpless. A country who is blind to know the truths that belong to those who love God, while many blaming others for there own circumstances. A gov't more concerned about filthy money, then the welfare of the poor. A system that is always looking out for the rich, using people robbing them of life . A so called democracy, that sustains the rich, while the drugs and needles, along with the sickness that belong to it! A gov/t held by the same for the last 70 yrs!

These who know nothing, yet they are the ones who bind burdens on those, that they themselves would never carry!

These are the ones Jesus spoke of. These are the ones that cant stand the truth. These are the ones who will silence the truth, just the way they did the disciples, the prophets, and our Savior Jesus Christ!

I have seen in the cities, traveled the underpasses, I have seen the lines, and have wondered how can these things be! As a child, I and grandmother would leave the sandwiches on the park bench, but now, there is not enough benches, let alone sandwiches! Perhaps the coffee trucks will have enough left over , after taking care of the national guard!

How unfortunate we have become! Your redemption draws nigh!

    Repent and be Baptized
