  • PROPHECY - 1 year ago
    Janet:

The woman is all creation, whether you be male or female, we are all the woman, destined to be the bride of Christ, and be made one with him.

1 Timothy 2:13 For Adam (Christ) was first formed, then Eve (woman, whether you are male are female).

1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman (all creation) being deceived was in the transgression.

1 Timothy 2:14 Notwithstanding she (creation, the woman) shall BE SAVED IN CHILDBEARING .....

Revelation is signified (most nouns have a meaning that is different than what a dictionary would define them) heaven is symbolic of mankind, where God dwells, IN YOU.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven (in Janet), a woman (Janet) clothed with the sun (the Spirit of the Father), and the moon (Christ) under her (Janet's) feet, and upon her (Janet's) head a crown of twelve stars (angels, ministering spirits).

Revelation 12:2 And she (Janet) being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pain to be delivered.

Revelation 12:5 And she (Janet) brought forth a man child .....

Galatians 4:19 ....I travail in birth, till Christ be formed in you ....

Revelation 2:26 An he that overcometh (deception), and keepeth MY WORKS (Christ is the life in Janet, the man child Janet birthed) until the end, to him (to Janet the body of Christ) will I (Christ in Janet) give power over the nations,

Revelation 2:27 And he (Janet, the body of Christ) sall rule them with a rod of iron .....even as I received of my Father.

    God Bless YOU, Christ's body.

That's a good question Dgjot, as sometimes we can misapply Scriptures when they speak to people in various cultures, times & situations. To answer your question, I believe that Jeremiah 29:11 does apply to the one in Christ as well.

My reasoning on this is: whenever God the Father or His Son speak to 'people' through His Word, I always ask, 'who are They speaking to, what is the matter about, and what is the relevance to any other people or ourselves?'

Briefly, when matters relate specifically to Israel (e.g. the Law, the Sacrifices, to go & conquer lands or enemies, prophecies concerning them/judgements/punishments, etc.), then I read those verses as given to them, but for my knowledge & learning about the Person of the Godhead. But if verses are directed to Israel (such as the one you quoted), do we see the Character of God & His expressions of love, concern, guidance, & help to both Israel (the elect of God) & in the believer in Christ (having the faith needed to be God's elect: Titus 1:1)?

Israel, having received that special love of God & His intervention in their lives in so many ways, ought to have been shining beacons to the uncivilized idolatrous world, but they chose to spurn God's Love & to reject His Christ, thereby losing their position before God. Why? Because the righteousness in the Law was not sought by faith ( Romans 9:30-32). Had they believed God & sought Him out in real love & faith, the Truth of Jeremiah 29:11-14 would have been their ongoing experience. But as Israel was cut out of the olive tree ( Romans 11), that we who have come to God IN FAITH might be engrafted into it, the promise in Jeremiah & all the promises in the Bible as pertaining to God's people (Jew & Gentile) in whom He delights, must also be applicable to us.

So, you can take much comfort in that verse & all verses that give you God's Promises: His Seal is within you, His Love is upon you & His Arms surround you and nothing can separate you from that love.

Yes, true. These three persons are eternally alive in the Godhead prior to creation, none of them having any beginning or creation.

Dear Linda, Ruach has it right.

The angel, Gabriel, announced to Mary that she would conceive the Son of God. The angel told Mary that this child's name is Jesus, because He will save us from our sins. Jesus in Hebrew, means YHWH saves. The angel did not name Jesus, per se. He is God's messenger and was telling Mary what God told him to tell her about this holy child she was to bear and what to name Him.

    Good evening Ronald.

Haven't heard from you for awhile. Thank you for a good analysis of this scenario in Revelations.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
Dear Lee Ann, I agree with you before our Father in the name of Jesus for all these things you request here. May you be comforted and strengthened during the "waiting" on God's work in this situation and may you be ready with a sensitivity to the Spirit to say and do what He leads you to do and say when the times are right for interactions with your husband. May the Lord protect and shield your children from all the turmoil and hurts that have occurred over time and in the present. God's blessing on you, sister. Thank you for asking us to bond together in prayer.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Colossians 1 - 1 year ago
    Chris,

It is good that we agree on this, as I do not know Greek. I wasn't quite sure if I had learned it correctly and you have confirmed it for me.

Paul said that he who began a good work in us is faithful to complete it. ( Philippians 1:6) So our completeness comes from the working of God in our lives and in us by the Holy Spirit. Paul also says that he desires for us to grow up into the full measure of Christ. ( Ephesians 4:13).

These verses seem to imply this same view of being made complete, having progressed from conversion to maturity and, ultimately, readiness for heaven. I think that it is not so much a matter of our effort (though we do need to make choices to obey) but of being open, willing, and desirous of how the Spirit wills to work in us to bring us towards completeness.

On another angle, this makes me think that this perfection/completeness may be referring to God's plan coming to fullness, perfection, fruition, and, as you say, His foreordained end to His plan for creation, in us one by one, and in the whole church over the ages. There is a culmination of all things to come. That will be glorious.
  • Chris - In Reply on Colossians 1 - 1 year ago
That's quite correct, GiGi. The Greek word for 'perfect' is 'teleios', which essentially means 'having reached its end' (or, made complete, and by extension, 'matured or perfected'). And such was the burden on Paul, that he fulfil his calling & ministry to not only bring folk to Christ but that they would also reflect lives that exhibit Christ in them. And this he did by 'teaching them & warning them' that they would grow in faith & grace to the point of real spiritual maturity.

As Paul wrote to Titus in Titus 2:12,13, "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." We could see these verses as the fruit of Christian spiritual maturity, which Paul pointed believers to & hoped to see, & also urged Titus to pursue for his congregations.
  • Miriam A Gaddis on Bel and the Dragon 1 - 1 year ago
I can see why the Catholics took this book out of the Bible. It gives the ingredients to a concoction for killing Bel the Dragon. The Pope worships Bel (Baal) and wants to keep him alive, in the belief that people will end up worshiping HIM instead of God. The current Pope pretty much confessed to this before being hung by the neck, when found guilty of Crimes Against Humanity at his Military Tribunal. I guess the rhetorick that I've heard, but didn't believe until now, that the Pope was the anti-Christ, was True!
  • Richard H Priday on Psalms 10 - 1 year ago
There is a sort of universal theme in this Psalm about asking where God is; as can be applied to David's life but more likely referring to times of exile. It also has overtones with the end times.

The verse about not being moved (v. 6) along with the statement "I shall never be in adversity" surely reminds us of Revelation 18:7; as well as with Jeremiah 5:12 and the false prophets.

Verse 11 reminds us as well of other passages when man reasons that God won't see what is going on (see Isaiah 49:14). Finally; verse 15 is also related to the Antichrist; as see in Zechariah 11:17 on the foolish shepherd along with; of course Revelation 13:3.

Verse 16 to 18 shows how wicked are removed; he meek inherit the earth; and God remembers the fatherless and oppressed (v. 18). Verse 12 to 14 further illustrate how God does provide for the needs of the poor and fatherless. (see Matthew 5:5).

All the concern about the poor being hunted down in verses 6 through 11 may be a reflection of David's humble beginnings and sufferings early on; that allowed compassion in his heart.

These scriptures; of course also are words the Spirit of God is speaking through David and is an encouragement to us and the glorious future for His people.

God does not hate humans. It is not God's will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. I understand the verse in question. The term hate in Romans 9:13 does not hold the same definition as we take it. GOD HATES SIN. If we read the story of jacob, and esau. Esau was well loved by his father but willing to give away his birthright for a bowl of soup. His desire to eat meant more than the blessing of his birth father and the blessings from the heavenly father. Our Heavenly Father LOVES us to no end. JOHN 3:16, tells of this great love. He also is a righteous judge, and rewards us for our good deeds and punishes us for our bad. If God doesn't discipline us then we are bastards and not sons. We cannot know the depth of God's love, because we love conditionally. He loves Unconditionally.

    I hope this helps

    Hey Janet Stemm,

    My understanding, study for yours.

Different opinions on who the woman is that is clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars. Some say the Church, some say Israel, some say Mary. In verse 3 another wonder, a great red dragon that drew a third part of the stars and cast them to earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman ready to devour her child.

Both of these wonders appeared in heaven. The word wonders Greek- semeion, means something extraordinary, or miraculous, mostly translated sign. Sign with a meaning of divine power or purpose made known. Sometimes the word is used to denote a sign of future things.

We know the dragon is Satan because scripture says so and most would agree the man child is Jesus the one who will rule all nations with a rod of iron, Psalms 2:9, Revelation 2:27, 12:5, and 19:15. The scripture is clear this starts before Jesus was born, the dragon was going to devour the child as soon as it was born. We see this effort of Satan when king Herod ordered not only the killing of all the children in Bethlehem but on all the coasts, from two years old and under.

The woman flees to a wilderness prepared by God to be there for 1260 days. This is after the ascension of Jesus, not just after, but in the future. For the Church as being the woman, when the dragon was standing in front of her, Jesus was not yet born, the Church was formed after he was born, the Church did not birth Jesus.

The woman cannot be Mary, even though she was the mother of Jesus, we are not of the seed of Mary as we see in verse 17, "the remnant of her seed". So, this leaves the third choice, which is Israel. If we look back in Genesis, we see a pretty good picture of this woman, Genesis 37:9-10.

Chapter 12 covers the time from before our Lord's birth and ascension to the throne, up to the casting out of heaven of Satan and the fallen angels permanently, Rev.12:8-9, to the start of the Great Tribulation.

    God bless,

    RLW

The beast, the dragon and the antichrist tare Satan, it's his unholy trinity, Satan is the great imitator imitating God throughout the centuries in the the most egregious way, it's mockery. 2 Corinthians 11:14 , Revelation 20:10 , 1 Peter 5:8 , 1 John 4:1 , Revelation 13:4 ,

Babylon the great is deception, confusion, the confusion which people spread: Revelation 17:1 Come hither; I will shew to thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many peoples.

11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

Does this just apply to the "Jews" or to any "believer"??

I always found comfort in this verse, but maybe it doesn't apply to me. :(

If Revelations is a book of PROPHECY and Jesus is telling John what to write, why would the woman be Mary having Jesus? Makes more sense to be the church.

Gods wrath is not in vain but its only directed to our old Adamic nature...Our 1st man is of the earth earthy but the 2 nd man

is the Lord from Heaven....Thats the new man that is formed in us via his seeds of the Sower the words of the Jesus..God

We have to keep in mind what Jesus said....I come not to destroy mens lives but to save mens lives...Our old man is in rank

with satan and is the man that returns to his vomit and the sow that returns to her mud...And is in rank with the Tares.. Satan..

But the Woman is the world that births The Child of Promise...His Wrath is only directed to Satan's seed our old adamic nature

2 nd Peter 2:22 ...The Tares cannot stay clean they answer to Satans seed that are constantly at war with the Wheat which is

a Baby Christ ...Rev.12 :5 is a perfect picture of the war that rages within us...The dragon is at war with the Woman ...

And her seed the manchild which is the H.G. The Gift of God...Its Kingdom against Kingdom....Jesus wants to kill everyone of us

But only according to our old adamic nature that is in rank with Satan...The slain of the Lord will be many...Outta of his mouth

goes a sharp sword that he will smite the nations...He treadeth the Wrath of God and fierceness of God Almighty...But thats only

That the Blood of the lamb might be applied to everyone of us....Thus his wrath will be turned to his love...Whom the Lord

Loveth he chastens...If he didn't love us there wd be no Wrath...But God so loved the world that he gave us his only son that

whosoever believeth in him might have eternal life....This is the result of his Wrath..His Blood....If i be lifted up I will draw

ALL men unto me....I was found of them that sought me not and i was made manifest unto them that asked not after me...Its

His Love that is gonna draw all men unto him....Even them that sought me not...Thats everybody. A number that no man can

    count..Of all nations...Gbu

Dear Heavenly Father, we ask in Jesus' name, that you will cause people who are stranded in the waters of Hurricane Ian to reach safety. We ask that those displaced by this hurricane find shelter and food and provision from those who are generous t help them. We ask that you reunite family members who have been separated by this hurricane so that they can work together to endure the aftermath of this great storm. We ask that You will send helpers who will use their skills to rescue, house, provide food and medical care, and other needed assistance to the people affected by this hurricane. Father, we ask that You will break apart the strength of this hurricane and cause it to dissipate quickly. Amen.

    Hello Chuck,

I have heard that this word "perfect" means "complete" rather than flawless. But even this rendering does not really explain what Paul is meaning by this phrase. Perhaps he is talking about being sure that those who respond to the Gospel with belief have been matured in faith by sound teaching and/or ensuring that those who respond the Gospel with belief truly understand the salvation they now possess. Or perhaps he is talking about these people having faith that endures to the the end of their lives so that they will stand before God with the righteousness of Jesus and no merit of themselves.

I hope that someone else will respond with a better explanation than I give here.

When the Lord is differentiating between Lily's of the field not toiling when they grow--in contrast to perhaps other lilies (because there are water lilies as well), the Lord also says, they don't spin.

What is the actual meaning of this word in context to the rest of the Scripture verse?

I have noticed that water lilies have a sort of cork screw vine that does have the appearance of a coiling process in its birth to the surface of the pond. It kind of reminds me of a babies natural, physical movement in the birth canal. The baby does turn--essentially it does spin or turn like a cork

    screw.

What is the Lord telling us when He says that the Lily does not spin?

Jeanette may i give you my take on the order of Gods Business...The 2 Covenants ...1st was the Old Covenant, redemption by the blood of bullls and goats...The levitical Priest hood....But God found fault with the Levitical priesthood....Promising a New Covenant by his own blood....A 2 nd Covenant by the blood of the The lamb of God... Acts 20:28....But they had to be in order as 1 st and 2 nd...That we might see the futility of mans righteousness via the blood of bulls and goats...The Levitical Priesthood....vs the Melchizedek Priesthood....An everlasting Covenant ( Kingdom )...David comes to mind There was none righteous no not one under this levitical Priesthood...Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...The 1st Covenant answers to the night light a lesser light...But the 2 nd Covenant is like day light a GREATER LIGHT and there will be no night there where we are going...The Kingdom...It also answers to the 2 words the written word and the living word...1 is death and 1 is life as my words are spirit and life....But the letter is the written word and no eternal life in written words...a killer... The written word is truly manna but they all died in the wilderness ...But the 2 nd Covenant is his flesh and blood the living Words and if any man eats of my flesh and blood he will neva die....But this 2 nd covenant is hid from the wise and prudent but reveled unto babes and sucklings...Until the book is opened....AND GOD POURS OUT OF HIS SPIRIT ON ALL FLESH... Joel 2 :28...I will know them ALL from the least to the greatest... Jeremiah 31:34...k lemme go.
